Harry Reid: Speak Wobbly and Carry No Stick.

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

By Mark Karlin

I've written in the past how the Republicans and Democrats pick their leaders in the Senate for diametrically opposed reasons: the GOP wants an authoritarian taskmaster who gets Senators to vote with the party position; and the Dems pick a leader (in this case, Harry Reid) who will let then run around like cats in heat, voting any which way they want.

Jon Stewart Again Nails FOX to a Cross of Lies

Sean Hannity Apologizes to Jon

He may come off as a modern day version of the mischievous, naughty Puck from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," but Jon Stewart is masterfully exposing FOX for the fraud that it is.

On Thursday, November 12, Stewart again used humor and facts to shoot a torpedo straight into the belly of FOX's increasingly shredded pretense of being "fair and balanced." In fact, Stewart claimed the real motto of FOX "News" should be: "We alter real life. You are sold a preconceived narrative."

I've written a series of blogs on Stewart's devastating exposure of FOX's "subtle altering of reality to sell a preconceived narrative."

As much as you might value BuzzFlash, a picture, or in this case a videotape, is worth a thousand words.

BuzzFlash has launched "a get America to Turn Off FOX" campaign -- and other online sites have gathered tens of thousands of names opposed to FOX. And several sites, including Media Matters, have regularly documented FOX's deceitful and dishonest coverage.

But, as I noted a short time ago, it takes Jon Stewart, with his visual images proving his case, to really erode FOX's credibility and undercut the influence of the FOX brand, which we all know is unfair and unbalanced but for some reason the corporate mainstream media defends.  In fact, the MSM scurried to FOX's defense when the White House correctly noted that the very same corporate "journalists" in D.C. and NY often take their cues from phony FOX coverage.

So, it was with hearfelt thanks that we saw Stewart bring FOX to their knees, actually forcing them to admit that they had used footage from a spring Teabagger rally to make Michele Bachmann's latest freak show gathering in D.C. appear much, much larger than it was.

What allows Stewart to be so devastating to FOX is that he assembles clips that would be damning in court, as they are in the court of public opinion. And these are reports aired on FOX, so how can they accuse their own reporting of being manipulative, incendiary and false?

Over nearly 10 years, BuzzFlash has repeatedly received e-mails and letters from readers thanking us for helping them by offering articles that dispel the right wing/centrist mainstream media myths.  During the Bush years, many a time people wrote something akin to "I don't know how I would have survived with my sanity intact without you."

Since I only have a salary of $22,500 a year, these are the rewards of our work.

But who do I go to in order to make sure that I maintain my sanity?

Jon Stewart and "The Daily Show."

In fact, it is the only program I watch with any regularity on television. (Alas, the cable package that includes MSNBC costs more, so I watch Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann in the day-after clips.)

Hoffman Gets His Teabags Dunked by Democrat Owens in New York's 23rd!

Forget about the two GOP govenor pick-ups in VA and NJ. The splash heard 'round the country was Right Wing Nut Job (RWNJ) Doug Hoffman getting his teabags dunked by Democrat Bill Owens in New York's 23rd Congressional District, which borders the "socialist" nation of Canada.

When Foxx Speaks for FOX: Rep. Virginia Foxx Says Healthcare Reform is Greater Threat Than Terrorism

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

By Mark Karlin

Move over Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, a cross-eyed senior citizen congresswoman from the hinterlands of North Carolina is outFOXing you with statements only the typhoid fever mind of Glenn Beck could come up with.

Most recently Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (5th District, R-N.C.) stated point blank that health care reform is more of a threat to the U.S. than terrorism: "I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country."

Vigilance: The Public Option Could Easily Unravel Yet

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

By Mark Karlin

After generally experiencing a post-Obama inauguration period of disappointment, progressives mobilized themselves, heightened their intensity of feeling, hit the streets, and bombarded Congress to ensure a public option -- and the activism paid off: Harry "Who Took My Backbone?" Reid actually included a government option with a state opt-out in his consolidated version of a Senate bill.

Can You Show Pornography and Call Yourself a 'News' Network? Was Tokyo Rose a 'News Anchor'?

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

Well, the corporate mainstream media is by and large defending FOX against accurate and unusually candid characterization by the White House.

It's mindboggling to believe that a WH lapdog press corps who embraced Jeff Gannon would somehow quibble about whether FOX News -- which does everything from incorporating GOP message points as "news" to leading "tea party" rallies to ignoring basic facts and replacing them with propaganda -- is an arm of the right wing and the GOP.

Heritage Foundation, Part of Right Wing Infrastructure, Defends 30 Republican Senators Who Enabled Rape

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

By Mark  Karlin

For BuzzFlash, when it comes to enabling rape, the Republican think tank-media-political infrastructure sticks together: a bunch of white guys -- primarily from the South -- who believe corporate criminal personhood trumps the rule of law when it comes to gang rape.

I have written two pieces on the extraordinarily shocking and ethically sick vote of 3/4s of the GO

Sarah Palin Goes Down Cheap on Amazon: Just $9 for "Going Rogue," A $29.00 Book. WTF?

BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

By Mark Karlin

Not many new books get a 69% discount before they are even released. In fact, BuzzFlash -- which sells progressive books -- has never seen such a slashed price for a book before it came out like the $9.00 Amazon.com is charging for "Going Rogue."

Yes, Palin and "Going Rogue" -- not released until November 17 -- are going down cheap, at a price usually reserved for what are called "remainder" books, the surplus stock of a book that is dramatically discounted.

Of course if you give it away, you can have a popular product, so it's no surprise that as of October 19, "Going Rogue" is number 4 on Amazon.

And the right-wing think tank media infrastructure, which is so successfuly integrated, is indeed giving it away!

The right-wing rag site, NewsMax, is offering "Going Rogue" free with a subscription, or for a cost of -- coinky dink -- $9.00.
