Sick, Sick, Sick Society ... Where's the Cure?

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

The cure can be found in a small cubicle called a cell.

"Public money is like holy water; everybody helps himself to it." -- Italian proverb.

... But as investigators began to unravel the incident, they say they found something far different: a massive scheme to defraud taxpayer-funded healthcare programs of millions of dollars by recruiting homeless patients for unnecessary medical services.

Hate Talk and Its Infectious Spittle ...The New Pandemic Pestilence?

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

"The propagandist's purpose is to make one set of people forget that certain other sets of people are human." -- Aldous Huxley, The Olive Tree, 1937

How is hate talk different from brainwashing? According to Wikipedia, the CIA coined the word "brainwashing" in 1950, and it is the instilling of certain attitudes and beliefs into a person's mind that weren't originally there. Indirectly, the hate talk that comes out of the Bush Republican Party, if not stopped, will eventually not only play a part in the destruction of US democracy, but in the destruction of our planet as well.

Conservatism is usually thought of as a belief by those who want to cling to the past, to traditions. What is traditional about hate talk?

Bush and the GOP's Effect Has Become Their Cause

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

"An effect can become a cause, reinforcing the original cause and producing the same effect in an intensified form, and so indefinitely." -- George Orwell, Why I Write

When we think about Bush's original invasion into Iraq supposedly to find Saddam's WMD and the effect it has had on Iraq and after five years of occupation, Orwell's words ring true today. The Bush GOP's cause and effect in Iraq has become their cause and has intensified through the years. Today, we keep hearing from Bush and his Republican supporters, such as McCain, Cheney, Rice, that we have to win in Iraq, as if we Americans are all fools enough not to understand that winning an invasion/occupation is impossible, and that this political GOP official-ese is merely to take the public's eyes and ears off of the many reasons for acts of treason.

Rove's Flying the Coop and On the Lam

BuzzFlash,
"Society prepares the crime; the criminal commits it."
-- The New Dictionary of Thoughts 1966
Why do most criminals think they are so much smarter than the law? For the Bush GOP, that hasn't been the case. US law has been trampled on, skirted, and flaunted for eight long years, and used harshly other times on American citizens. All the Bush GOP have to do to keep from 'facing the real music,' is to skip town, or, to mimic Bush, take [loud laughter] executive privilege. We Americans haven't had executives in this government for so long, we wouldn't recognize them even if they happened to show up with an oversized brass flag pin, a big wheel, and their briefcase in hand. (Not a joke.)

Independence Day ... What Does It Really Mean ... It's All In The Language

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

"I am always sorry when any language is lost, because languages are the pedigrees of nations." -- Samuel Johnson, in Boswell's Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides, September 18, 1773.

Gunning Down the US Constitution and Bill of Rights - Straight-Shooting Supremes

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

I guess the Supreme Court isn't interested in how many deaths we have every month around this gun totin' country. They get plenty of security, no doubt, as do the war mongers who travel with Bush. All any American has to do is just pick up any paper, on any day of the week, and somebody is getting shot, killed, DOA, and lately, three members last Sunday, in SF, were killed because of road rage by some gang member because they couldn't make a turn onto another street. Life has become to mean nothing in this country ... and that careless meaning for life, other than their own, has filtered down from the Bush Republican regime's violent policies and their legislative war on American citizens.

Bush and the GOP: McCain Is "Our Man In Arizona"

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

"We must build a world of peace where the weak are safe and the strong are just." -- John F. Kennedy, America Back on Track, Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

It's being said that Obama is ahead of McCain by 12 points. One has to wonder where. Where are those who want this country back as a democracy again. A great place to raise families again. Americans who would want the US to be respected as a country of leadership around the world again. Twelve points? Why is it not 88 points? Why does Bush still have 23% approval rate, unless it comes from those whose dollar signs kinda, sorta blind?

Crazy Code of Conduct Towards Citizens

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

Corrupt world. If people are banning people because of their corruption, then why is Bush, along with his outrageous entourage, invited everywhere? We know that Bush is guilty of what he sent Stewart to jail for, as well as killing, thieving, and treasonous actions towards this country. Shame on Britain.

Who are they to cast shadows when they supported Bush in all of his endeavors? Is there a crime that Bush hasn't committed on a large scale, and used US government to protect his behind?

"R" Rated Bush Republicans -- A Program That Should Be Cancelled

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

We Americans who have raised families and are in the process of doing so today have always been much concerned about who and what influences our children as they are the future of this country. With that in mind, where did we or our elders of the last half century go wrong?

Have the Bush GOP's Bred-in-the-Bone Policies Given Birth to American Indifference?

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

"Indifference is a militant thing. It batters down the walls of cities and murders the women and children amid the flames and the purloining of altar vessels." -- Stephen Crane (d. 1900), "Death of the Child"

The indifference we witness in today's America will end up killing the last remnants of our Democracy unless we revive our own sense of justice. If we Americans are to preserve our morality, our rights, and the soul of this country, we have to care passionately about the rights of others. We have to care about the lives of others, just as we care about ourselves.
