America, the Next World Incubator for Hatching Hate? -- Ms. Smith Goes to Washington

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Power does not corrupt men;  fools, however, if they get into a position of power, corrupt power.
-- George Bernard Shaw, 1856-1950

BuzzFlash,

How many Americans wonder why the Bush GOP in Congress has become the Party of No? Refusing to work for the American people and cooperate with the Obama Administration, especially when they and the Bush Administration are responsible for the highest debt ever for this nation, and what's more surprising is that they are not timid about refusing to do their jobs and work in government for the people of this nation, and try to undo what they did under the Bush/Cheney/Rove regime.

Do these actions of refusing to work for the people of this nation mean that they actually believe in a "one party" system, and only if the Bush GOP is that party? Again and again, the American people have to be reminded that we had eight years of silence by these same Republicans. Whatever Bush/Cheney/Rove wanted, they got with full approval.

There's a history about another political party, and, at one time, a very small political party: the National Socialist Workers' Party. Over a period of years, 1921 to 1933, this party went from a small party to a national party, and became ruthless enough to suppress any opposition. How? By using the anger and distress of its citizens, and blaming the innocent. The leader of this party, a decorated hero for bravery ten years prior, excelled this government into one of the most bizarre and murderous governments in world history: Hitler's Germany.

I know, few people, including politicians, want to hear this. They don't want to hear the word "fascism." Years ago, if Hitler had a play book, I thought Bush/Cheney/Rove had a copy. Again, the rhetoric by a Fox News TV show host (Beck) as seen on Olbermann's Countdown, when he talked about President Obama's name he is using... does Beck think that he or the Bush GOP should be choosing the "correct" name for President Obama? How about all of the other black Americans and their names?

Why is President Obama's name of some importance, when every person in this country, who is not of indigenous decent, has or has had a name from another country, given by their ancestors. However, as history tells it, in Germany, they had what was called "The Law of Names, " according to the book The Language of Names by Justin Kaplan and Anne Bernays 1997.

When allowed, names can become branding irons because of prejudices and hate. Under Hitler, this German code of names had a list of first names that was to be used only for Jewish newborns:

Adults who were readily identifiable as Jews by their last names were forbidden by law to change them; those who weren't readily identifiable had to take Israel or Sarah as a middle name. (Present-day French practice calls for Jewish children to have either a first or middle name from the Old Testament, and for Christian children, a first or middle name from the Calendar of Saints).

Whatever the Republicans say in public, the real reason for their anger is simply racism, and the fact that they are not the Party in power. A deep- seated racism. Is it any different from Hitler's hate of the Jewish people? If the South is to get rid of racism, it should at least come from their own leaders. And, today, they want to take us back in history . . . as a third world country. However, judging from what we see today at these tea parties, it wouldn't be the black vote they would have to worry about after taking these tests. From Alternet -- Shocker: Tea Party Convention Opening Speaker Suggests a Return to Jim Crow Voting Laws:

The opening night speaker at the Tea Party convention suggested a return to a "literacy test" to protect America from presidents like Obama -- a segregation-era method employed by southern US states to keep blacks from voting.

In his speech Thursday to attendees, former Republican congressman Tom Tancredo invoked the loaded pre-civil rights era buzzword, saying that President Barack Obama was elected because "we do not have a civics, literacy test before people can vote in this country."

Southern states used literacy tests as part of an effort to deny suffrage to African American voters prior to Johnson-era civil rights laws (Texas should be proud of the Johnson era, and what they did for U.S. history). How many remember when Texans laughed at Bush number one when he came down from the North and ran for office? Texans should be proud of that too. Then, it's been said, that Bush number two bought his way into Texas politics. Who's laughing now? Probably the Bushes.

RIGHTS: Legal Experts Slam "Targeted Killings" of U.S. Citizens:

The U.S. government has now established a 'death list' for U.S. citizens abroad akin to those established by Latin American dictatorships during their so-called dirty wars," he said.

Another troubling item in the news has been the law that a U.S. president can kill a U.S. citizen in another country... without trial? I think most of us know already that this kind of thing is probably not new, especially with the Bush regime (I'm guessing), but legalizing these assassinations publicly is new. The same reason that Bush got Congress to give him the power to use his own judgment when it came to Iraq, however, Congress did not declare war. Did it matter? No. It amounted to U.S. Congress giving Bush/Cheney permission without taking responsibility for such actions. Eh?

Pitiful, since many in Congress should have known or guessed what Bush was up to. Many of us Americans out in the motherland knew and were not surprised when he illegally invaded Iraq. But, to publicly talk about killing Americans overseas, that is new and to get people used to it, isn't that new, too? How far of a jump before targeting citizens here in the U.S.? We hear about the "unarmed" drone patrols of U.S. borders; when will they become armed, I wonder?

The article below should remind us Americans that nothing has been done for the citizens of this country since the Nixon Administration, since the sixties. Nothing has been done other than the excesses of Republican-led U.S. government that has brought the American people debt, death, and destruction, before the Clinton presidency and after the Bush residency. The GOP always campaign that the Democrats spend and raise taxes, when in reality, the Republicans spend and enrich themselves, and give tax breaks to the wealthy (themselves) in this country, then the Democrats have to clean up after them, and it is the Democrats who should be angry as hell, instead of the tea party goers, who evidently are completely out of touch with reality as well as German history.

Bush number two started his appointed years in the White House with a surplus left by Clinton. To listen to the anger of people today, (those at the tea parties) when they did nothing, said nothing to the Bush/Cheney/Rove Administration, those responsible for this nation's trouble in "3D:" debt, death, and destruction, we have to wonder: Why now?

I'll tell you why. They think that with enough publicity, Americans, the so-called Independents, will become angry enough to vote their Republican robber barons back into office.

This idea is not new either. Hitler and his administration used the people's anger at the German government and they nurtured that anger until Hitler and his followers focused that anger against the Jewish people, and others. They used their power to define what or who a German citizen should be. Anyone else, they murdered.

During the depression period in Germany, Goebbels was very successful in using the anger of the unemployed to gain even more support for the Hitler movement.

Fascism

Americans need to pay attention to the cause and effect of these problems and who is actually responsible for them. Another disturbing idea that crossed the Internet was that the elderly who are ill should, I guess, kill themselves or die, instead of using up government money for their healthcare, and leave that money for the young of this nation. My interpretation and paraphrasing.

I was shocked to even read such a thought. Myself, I was brought up to respect all life, and especially, to respect our elderly, listen to what they had to say. Has that also changed in this nation today? Thousands die because they do not have healthcare. Thousands die because they do not have adequate healthcare. Americans die simply because they are hungry, poor, or on the streets of this country. These are symptoms of more than just bad times. These are symptoms of a past government that didn't do its job, rather, they just took care of themselves.

Americans are dying in our military and this nation should not be occupying any other nation. Yet, we still have a government that gives into U.S. military and their abuse of U.S. power.

Like it or not. Think it's crazy, maybe. But, people can change drastically over a period of time with constant propaganda, willful ignorance, political leadership with an anti-democratic message, nurturing citizens' hate until it boils over. Remember Oklahoma? Mass killings by ignorant and disturbed Americans? The killing of the young guard, Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns, at the Holocaust Museum. The arrogant killing of Dr. Tiller in his own church. A killing that was supposed to stand for a respect for life? No, it was and still is a lust for power over all life.

If Obama and his administration persist in nurturing the Bush GOP in Congress who blatantly, and proudly do not want to govern, do not want to work with the Democrats to help to clean up the mess that they are responsible for, and instead, want to return to power, then Obama needs to do what any responsible leader should do: Work without them, and apply the blame where it should be applied. Of course, Obama would be more convincing if he would bring our troops home and get our troops and our bases our of countries where they don't belong, and undo all of the anti-American legislation that the Bush/Cheney Republicans driven administration shoved down the throats of trusting Americans.

Those angry tea partiers should focus their anger on their own political party, and demand accountability, if they really want to make a difference, and maybe explain to the rest of this country, why they waited until now to get angry, eight years after the debt, death, and destruction caused by the Republican Party. Maybe they are just angry because they, too, believe in a one Party system, their Republican Party.

Trying to appease the Bush GOP Party of No, is wasting time. The Democrats need to be speaking out or they will be left out and blamed for the crimes committed during the last eight years of the Bush GOP regime.

When I see the anger around the U.S., I have to wonder, do any of these people ever think about the injured survivors of Iraq, Afghanistan, New Orleans, U.S. military? Try thinking about the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, their families, the businesses, homes, neighborhoods. Yes, people in this country should be angry, but make sure the anger is focused towards the guilty parties, and demand justice for those people who have suffered due to Republican one Party rule.

The region... including the districts of Warsaw, Cracow, Lvov and Radom... contained some 2,284,000 Jews in 1939, according to the Germans' own estimate. No one had ever conceived of murder on such a scale before, and no sensible person would have thought it possible.
-- Michael Marrus, New York Times Book Review, June 18, 1987.

The number in Iraq has been estimated at over a million citizens killed by Bush's illegal invasion, and at least two million displaced. The Bush GOP government killed hundreds of thousands in Iraq and Afghanistan, why would any sensible person think such a government could not kill its own? Killing is killing, no respect for life. Didn't Bush send more people, without any pardons, to the electric chair, and seen on TV, mocking a young woman begging for her life? They (Bush/Cheney regime) certainly have no qualms about those in U.S. military who would be killed when they decided to invade and occupy Iraq. On the other hand, when Bush visited overseas, at one time it was noted that six thousand people went along just for his protection.

Sarah Palin assails Obama at 'tea party' gathering

America is ready for another revolution!" she told the gathering.

Palin suggested the movement should remain leaderless and cautioned against allowing it to be defined by any one person.

Not one person, just one political party, maybe? The Bush GOP?

The rulers will act in secret, for reasons of national security, and the people will not be permitted to know what goes on in their name. Actions once unthinkable will be accepted as routine: government by executive fiat, state murder of enemies selected by the leader, undeclared wars, torture, mass detentions without charge, the looting of the national treasury, the creation of huge new security structures targeted at the populace. In time, this will be seen as normal, as the chill of autumn feels normal when summer is gone. It will all seem normal.
--Chris Floyd, November 10, 2001 Moscow Times (English edition)

Where are the investigations for war crimes in the U.S. today? How can we call ourselves a democracy with these murders hanging over our own government without seeking justice? Without the demands of responsibility, this allows the continuation of the incubation and nurturing of hate that will eventually give birth to other new leaders of such hate.

Political campaigns are designedly made into emotional orgies which endeavor to distract attention from the real issues involved, and they actually paralyze what slight powers of cerebration man can normally muster.

Welcome back to 1933 Deutschland!

In early 1933 Germany, the country enjoyed a democracy, not unlike our own. That all changed by 1934. The rest is a  history of misery.

As far as "America, the Next World Incubator for Hatching Hate "is concerned, you need to read Zinn's history book.

The question to ask is when in our history was America NOT the world's incubator for hatching hate?

Imperialism, genocide, war mongering, terrorism and torture, all proud American traditions since 1492!

Carry on military industrial complex, wee the sheeple are too afraid and/or too stupid to stop any of you.
