Why The Rush For Fools Gold?

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Buzz Flash,

"Gold, which leads [us] everywhere, has become our national God. There is only one vice, poverty; one virtue, wealth. If you are not rich, you are scorned. Diderot, Conversation of a Father with His Children, 1772.

The above makes sense when we know that this country has an elite group that owns more than the other 95% who live in this country. Not everything that glitters is gold. We Americans have learned much during these last nine years. We've learned that our "employees," those who are supposed to work for us in all three branches of U.S. government . . . never think about that fact. They don't even think of us Americans as being their employer.

Pyrite - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is a kinda, sorta depressed feeling this holiday season that's in the air. It's not a euphoric sense. It's a sad sense. Americans are out of work, out of money, and  those serving in US military, still out of the country . . . people have so many problems they face, including the lack of good and affordable healthcare. We Americans put so much hope into this new administration, thinking, mistakenly that Obama and the Democratic Congress would turn things around. Thinking that they would start turning things around immediately. Stop the debt, death, and destruction of people's lives that was caused by the Bush GOP administration. But, they didn't, and they haven't. They spent most of their time trying to make friends with the Republicans who are responsible for bringing this country down on its knees and owned today by China. We don't need those kind of friends in U.S. government.

A simple thing such as 'healthcare' is taking weeks. And, what do we Americans hear in the news? Well, single payer, which is what we Americans needed and wanted from our "employees," was never given any time or discussion at all. Women's healthcare was taken out of this bill. Public Option was yanked out of this bill. What we Americans have witnessed during these past few months is that the Bush GOP in Congress refuse to do the work of the people, and Obama and his Democrats refuse to bring about accountability and do the job with or without the Bush GOP members of Congress.

This isn't college any more, you members of Congress, and we don't need good-ole-boy camaraderie with those who refuse to work for the American people, who also happen to be racists, anti-science, and who are still loyal to the Bush administration, and who are proud of it . . . added to that, what we might have in DC in Obama's Administration is a camarilla instead.

Leadership and respect of the process is what is needed in U.S. government today. Along with the respect of doing their jobs. We need accountability, and we need this bill to be put on the chopping block and allowed to bleed to its death. How undemocratic of this Congress to put into this bill that American citizens will "HAVE" to purchase the insurance that is in it or be fined or punished. Right now, they could hang me on the court house lawn and I wouldn't touch the cursedly thing. What kind of nonsense is this? And, how much money did our members of Congress get from the insurance giants for putting this stupid, yes stupid, clause into this bill?

I stand with Governor Dean and what he said about this bill on Olbermann's show.

"I know health reform when I see it, and there isn't much left in the Senate bill. I reluctantly conclude that, as it stands, this bill would do more harm than good to the future of America
."

Dean should have been placed over our healthcare in the Obama Administration, but the rumor was that Rahm didn't like him. Tough. You people work for us. He's a doctor for gawdsake! Everything that speaks of failure has been brought into these weeks and weeks of talk and pious, political prattle. What a show this has been for all of us Americans. To watch these employees of ours, in all three branches of government, show us that they are not capable of doing their jobs. And, many, the Bush GOP and their supporters, don't want to do their job. It's been made very clear during these last years especially, that big changes need to be made in U.S. government. For one thing, we really don't need the expense of a Senate. They don't want to work anyway. And, I guess, if Senator Schumer is an example of how women are respected, even in their own work place, this lack of taking care of the women of this country, comes as no surprise. What a jerk.

So when an important man, a U.S. senator, actually -- busy, busy, busy -- flouts federal regs by refusing to turn off his cellphone so the plane can pull away from the gate (oh, and to heck with his fellow passengers, who in their humble way also had lives to get on with while they instead tapped their toes and he kept on yakking), well, that was bad enough. "It's Harry Reid calling,'' the rudenik, a.k.a. Chuck Schumer, announced to his hostages. "I guess health care will have to wait.''

''But when the senior senator from New York then called a flight attendant who was only doing her job the b-word under his breath, that told us even more. Like how much women must be willing to put up with from a self-described "tireless advocate for women's rights" and how little --
this and only this -- the "advocate" has to do to keep the franchise.

Chuck Schumer: Defender of Women's Rights, Insulter of Actual Woman -- Politics Daily

Does the above sound like these senators work for the people? Schumer is in his 2nd term out of New York.  He must be a very slow learner to be so rude and crude to those he is supposed to work for. Oh, and Reid (?), has never been a real tough leader. Always gives into the Bush GOP, whenever he can. And, Pelosi, well we all know how clean her table always was during the Bush administration.

We Americans want a healthy, healthcare plan, not some cut and paste bit of nonsense that will break the bank for many families. It was said that a family of four that made $50,000 a year (which is not a lot of money folks; today I spend as much on food for myself as I did when raising three meat eating boys years ago), this plan would cost them $10,000. And, to make people take out this bogus bill? I don't think so. Not from those who are our employees. One thing these talks have made perfectly clear is that we need the money taken out of politics, so that it doesn't take a wealthy person to win an election. We are not getting the best of the best in DC. That's clear. If these wealthy members of U.S. government can't come up with a decent, moral healthcare plan, then we will continue to make the changes that is necessary, until we Americans get those who will work for the people of this country. We don't want your worthless, fake healthcare program.

And, as for Lieberman. Someone up there in Congress said that Liebermann shouldn't be punished because of his actions Why not? That's the whole problem in Congress today. No discipline. No action. They are worse than a group of spoiled brats.

Lieberman is anything that money will buy. For the Democrats, he's cheap, recycled Bush GOP goods, which is how many of our so-called Democrats who lean towards the GOP, get into office. I've said this before . . . this allows the Bush GOP to run both parties. It's time the Democrats stopped being so easy about who is running for this party. We don't need anyone who wants to cooperate with these Republicans today, who refuse to work for the people, after the total destruction they brought about in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as New Orleans. Our dead, the dead in those two countries, and that is the only thing they will back Obama in, is more debt, death, and destruction in Afghanistan. We don't need them in our government today. It's a criminal act in my mind, that they even have a voice after what this country and the world has had to put up with for eight long years of the Bush administration. And, no one has been made responsible for all of the crimes committed during those years. Hence, the reason there is no respect shown to Obama by these Bush GOP loyalists in Congress.

Former Sen. Lowell Weicker, who Lieberman defeated in the 1970s, was interviewed about his former rival. “He was basically elected as a Republican when he lost the Democratic primary,” Weicker said. “It was the Republicans who put him into office. Yes, I am an independent. I
don’t think Sen. Lieberman is an independent.”

Think Progress » Lieberman says he won’t rule out running as a Republican in 2012.

For years, we have had Democrats, proudly known by themselves as Blue Dogs, who have their own club in DC, and who are really Republicans most of the time. This allows the GOP to rule both parties. These Blue Dogs toss crumbs to the Democrats, but on big issues, they back the Bush GOP, and they always have done this.

This isn't something hard to figure out. And, when the Democrats get into trouble, they turn and run on the Republican ticket. Look around, there are those doing this already. Because they think that the Democrats are in trouble today. If Obama would take a big stick and start leading as if he is in charge, (and, I'm not talking about making people pay for insurance, that's not what he is up there for) . . . instead of trying to make points with the very Party that is responsible for over a million deaths, and the debt that this country is in today. That doesn't get near enough coverage in MSM. People need to keep being reminded of why this country and the people are suffering today. No responsibility taken, and the Bush GOP just can't wait to blame the Democrats for not cleaning up their criminal mess.

Without any accountability, they will get away with murder and the debt of this country.

I think the quote below explains about many of those who are in our Congress today.

From "The 776 Stupidest Things Ever Said," by Ross and Kathryn Petras: On Answers:  "I think we're on the road to coming up with answers that I don't think any of us in total feel we have the answers to." Kim Anderson, mayor of Naples, Florida.

In my own opinion, when it takes our members of Congress weeks to come up with a horrible plan and label it U.S. Healthcare, it tells me that they are all in the wrong business. We need something in healthcare that Canada has, and did anyone bother to talk to the Canadians . . .no. France? No. Britain? No. Doctors, such as Governor Dean? No. Are these people working for us Americans? No.

Progress: The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little." Franklin D. Roosevelt, Inaugural Address, 1937
