GOP: Tickled Pink Elephants Gone Wild

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Buzz Flash,

"If the rich could hire other people to die for them,
the poor would make a wonderful living." Yiddish proverb

It doesn't take a college degree in Psychiatry or a course in Psychology 101 to understand the Bush GOP of today. I keep saying Bush GOP because the Republican Party is everything today that it was yesterday and so much less. Yes, from the constant tea bag gatherings to the fake news gathering when the GOP bused people from out of town, or from out of state (remember Florida election 2000), to Murdoch's accusations against President Obama, saying that he was a racist. The constant noise coming from these people tell us several things. But, before I list those few things, we must never forget or allow the news media to forget that these people, these supporters of the Bush/Cheney/Rove administration are responsible for the condition of this country today. The debt, death, and destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they supported the murders of hundreds of thousands of people, including deaths in our own military and National Guard.

For any Republican supporter today, to say that they care about this country and the people, we know it's not true. Their actions speak much louder than their angry words. Making constant threats and noise against Obama and his administration is nothing more than an effort to cover up the fact that they have no ideas, are not capable of solving problems that they created . . . and, the more they are in the news, somehow, this is supposed to add credibility to these people instead of accountability, which is what many of them should be facing instead.

"Projection" is the psycho-babble word to use in all of these incidents. Projecting onto the Democrats or our whole society everything that they are guilty of, and, they will blame the Democrats and Obama for the problems caused by the Bush GOP regime. This was plain to see with the stark accusations made by Murdoch, calling Obama a racist. He is only in this country for what he can get out of it. He had to become a citizen in order to buy the news business, and if he had the good intentions that Fox loves to advertise, he could have been a great benefit to this country, but, years ago, it was plain to see what Fox was going to become, and it's no secret who's the real racist on Fox News.

I sincerely believe that if Obama had begun his administration with investigations into the last eight years of crimes committed during the Bush GOP regime, we would not be bothered with these simpletons who represent the greed that still exists in this Party. They are spoiled. Greed for power over the people.  It made many of them wealthy.

And, no arrests. There's no sign of anyone in DC willing to make any of these people accountable for their threats against this nation, threats against Obama, and we even have pictures on the Internet of people protesting in front of the school where Obama's children attend. Picketing our president's children. How frightening this must be for such young girls. Shame on these people. There is no low, that they won't go, because they have no fear.

None of this low, trashy behavior, even with the obvious election fraud in both Bush elections, or the illegal invasion into Iraq and Afghanistan, or the legislative war against the American people . . . protestors never resulted to such shameful behavior against the Bush/Cheney/Rove regime, and they had real reasons to do so, but many were always arrested and fined or harassed by cops in riot gear.  Bush supporters were a no-show. None of this has happened to these Bush Republicans who have used threats of violence, hate, and racism. Absolutely no responsibility seen with these people, even those Republicans in Congress, especially those Republican leaders in Congress. They show no responsibility or leadership at all. Mob mentality is what we've seen. Let them hate as long as they fear accountability.

I think it's time that President Obama took off his gloves and started to use some control of this type of behavior because it could bring out the Right Wing bullies in our society. We do have over 800 hate groups within the US, another benefit of a democracy. All of these groups, regardless of their names, we could add "neo." From neocon, neofascist, neoNazi, to neophobia. The hate and racist dialogue that comes from these groups could bring about violence. If nothing else, the Obama administration should protect innocent Americans who might become in danger because of the irresponsibility, again, of these Bush Republicans.  If violence occurs, then, what will we get, an apology? When it's too late. It's always too late.

We citizens in the U.S. needed single payer healthcare to take care of the millions of citizens who do not have healthcare and cannot afford healthcare. The second choice, Public Option, will not take care of those people who cannot afford healthcare. And, if that wasn't enough the Democratic leadership cowardly gives up women's healthcare to please these anti-female, prejudiced bastards in Congress, and still they moan and groan. Why? Because they don't want Americans to know when they are happy, tickled pink . . . because, they not only are disrupting Congress, but are also getting their way in punishing people, using power over their lives.

Democrats were forced to make major concessions on insurance coverage for abortions to attract the final votes to secure passage, a wrenching compromise for the numerous abortion-rights advocates in their ranks.

Sweeping Health Care Plan Passes House - NYTimes.com

Florida woman, who is a victim of sexual abuse, claims that rape was called a "pre-existing condition" by several health insurance companies, which would have disqualified her for care.

Democrats were not really forced to do anything that they didn't want to do. If these Republicans just shut up when they get what they want, Democrats would lose the support. The more the Bush GOP yell and scream at the Democrats, the more support the Democrats get from the public, even for lousy healthcare such as the bill Pelosi was getting congratulated for, which was against women who might need an abortion to save their life. People should examine stories by women instead of condemning women and even if they never care about women, women should have control over our own bodies. Get off our bodies!

We think we've come a long way in this nation, and then it only takes a few stupid people and women will be dying, people suffering, families suffering, men and women  . . and, all of this is to please those who want to deny rights to many Americans due to their greed or their prejudices, who cares . . . they should not be allowed to get away with it. I don't give a damn whether they like me or the Democrats or Obama or anyone. If we are to preserve this democracy, this country must do a complete about face . . . and change this backward trend.

I'm sure the Republicans, who have been protesting against healthcare, know that the Democrats, who were congratulating Pelosi for this weak healthcare bill, would do nothing except insure that the Democrats could say they passed a bill. Hell, anybody could do that, especially if all they wanted was press, and Pelosi got that. Is she up for re-election? Yes, the GOP is going to yell even when they are tickled pink. And, I say, if we can't get what will cure the ills of this nation and preserve the rights to all Americans . . . dump the damn bill, we don't want it, and we damn sure don't need it. The only ones to benefit would be the corporations. So, protest away, Republicans, make my day! All of this from a Congress that makes good money from salaries and connections and gets great healthcare, yet, they can't relate to most of America.

I know people don't want to hear this, but even as a child, I'm thankful that I can remember when people weren't all packing guns, killings were hardly heard of, even in the big cities, and people actually cared about people . . .  what we have today, can we call this progress? This is not progress. We have become a third world nation and when we listen to some of these citizens who support war and protest healthcare . . . if that's not a sign of ignorance, stupidity, backwardness . . . you name it . . . third world, where people are kept ignorant, uneducated, filled daily with government propaganda . . . today, it's a few of our big guy media, who bear a great deal of responsibility, as corporations, for where we are today . . . they, too, supported the criminal Bush GOP for eight long years. And, anytime Bush/Cheney/Rove stick their head out, they get into the news, without any fear of accountability for the debt of this country, the deaths caused by their leadership, and the destruction of this country, New Orleans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. It can't be repeated enough, since we have so many in DC who want these crimes to remain in the past and forgotten.

I want to share a poem that explains what we Americans have had to put up with for eight long years and still they reign in the news. They (GOP moral bullies) don't belong in a democracy where everyone, their choice of religion, their sexual differences, their skin color, or their personal beliefs and rights are to be protected. This is what makes America a great nation. These tolerated differences. That's what we have a Congress for . . . to protect the rights of the people of this nation and to work for the people of this nation. All of the people of this nation.

The Moral Bully
by Oliver Wendell Holmes

Yon whey-faced brother, who delights to wear
A weedy flux of ill-conditioned hair,
Seems of the sort that in a crowded place
One elbows freely into smallest space;
A timid creature, lax of knee and hip,
Whom small disturbance whitens round the lip;
One of those harmless spectacled machines,
The Holy-Week of Protestants convenes;
Whom school-boys question of their walk transcends
The last advices of maternal friends;
Whom John, obedient to his master's sign,
Conducts, laborious, up to ninety-nine,
While Peter, glistening with luxurious scorn,
Husks his white ivories like an ear of corn'
Dark in the brow and bilious in the cheek,
Whose yellowish linen flowers but once a week,
Conspicuous, annual, in their threadbare suits,
And the laced high-lows which they call their boots,
Well mayst thou shun that dingy front severe,
But him O stranger, him thou canst not fear!

Be slow to judge, and slower to despise,
Man of broad shoulders and heroic size!
The tiger, writhing from the boa's rings,
Drops at the fountain where the cobra stings.
In that lean phantom, whose extended glove
Points to the text of universal love,
Behold the master that can tame thee down
To crouch, the vassal of his Sunday frown;
His velvet throat against thy corded wrist,
His loosened tongue against thy doubled fist!

The Moral Bully, though he never swears,
Nor kicks intruders down his entry stairs,
Though meekness plants his backward-sloping hat,
And non-resistance ties his white cravat,
Though his black broadcloth glories to be seen
In the same plight with Shylock's gaberdine,
Hugs the same passion to his narrow breast
That heaves the cuirass on the trooper's chest,
Hears the same hell-hounds yelling in his rear
That chase from port the maddened buccaneer,
Feels the same comfort while his acrid words
Turn the sweet milk of kindness into curds,
Or with grim logic prove, beyond debate,
That all we love is worthiest of our hate,
As the scarred ruffian of the pirate's deck,
When his long swivel rakes the staggering wreck!

Heaven keep us all! Is every rascal clown
Whose arm is stronger free to knock us down?
Has every scarecrow, whose cachectic soul
Seems fresh from Bedlam, airing on parole,
Who, though he carriest but a doubtful trace
Of angel visits on his hungry face,
From lack of marrow or the coins to pay,
Has dogged some vices in a shabby way,
The right to stick us with his cutthroat terms,
And bait his homilies with his brother worms?

What the Bush GOP or today's Republicans have succeeded in doing, is to become nothing more than a tiresome cliche . . . sorta, kinda, like noisy, frittering, playfully, squandering, dithering, jiggling pink elephants do when wasting their time away.

Thanks Buzz Flash,

"Projection" is not "psycho-babble"

It is a legitimate psychological, diagnostic term. But "psycho-babble" itself is an example of psycho-babble.

Please STOP pretending that Obama is a Democrat!

Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Blue Dog DINOs ARE NOT DEMOCRATS!!!

So please stop pretending that they are! And please stop pretending that they might actually do something beneficial for WE THE PEOPLE, because they won't! They are 100% owned by the upper 1% plutocracy, bought and paid for by the K Street lobbyists.

Over the last two election cycles, we voted out the Necon-Fascist Republicans. Now we need to vote out all the Blue Dog DINO-Fascists in the upcoming Democratic Primaries early next year.

Kos has already suggested that we NOT donate any money to the DCCC or DNC. I call that a good start!

Progressive challengers, start your campaign engines!

I Have To Agree With Kevin - To A Point

Almost nothing that Obama has done so far has been for the benefit of the people. He rushed to bailout the banks, yet millions of home-owers (sic) await relief. He also gave the banks the right to abuse our credit card accounts for nine months, because the law has yet to go into effect. He has not yet done anything about the wars of terror that he inherited (although there is fresh hope that he will in Afghanistan), nor has he done anything about the Pentagon budget except advocate for another increase. The nation is in serious need of repair, yet only now is his job stimulus beginning to show its face on our national highways - and there is so much more. To sum it all up, under Obama the rich man wins and the poor man pays. The only "change we can believe in" is that they no longer attempt to hide this fact.

I don't know how we are going to get our nation away from the greedy corporatists who are bleeding us dry, but expecting Obama to "take the gloves off" isn't a good plan. Such a statement could also be misconstrued by the other side as a challenge to initiate civil war in defense of what they think is their country. The likelihood of neighborhood wars breaking out is real enough to make me worry.

While I plan to continue voting, I am losing faith that playing within that rigged racket is worthy of our time. We need another way. I just hope we don't end up destroying our nation in an attempt to save it.

I know how

"I don't know how we are going to get our nation away from the greedy corporatists..."

I know how.  STOP VOTING FOR THEM!  The Republicans and Democrats take turns screwing us and every two years we thank them by sending them back to do it again.  Those two parties are interchangeable and survive by accepting huge corporate bribes.  If you want to end their stranglehold on our country start voting Green, a party that REFUSES corporate bribes.

A bit wordy, ...

... but a darn good rant anyway!

" ... dump the damn bill, we don't want it, and we damn sure don't need it. "

Seems that just about sums up the Democratic Congress and Obama's 'accomplishments' so far ........ thanks for nothing.
