The Dawning of Deception or Still 'Waiting for Godot' -- Your Choice White House
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
Buzz Flash,
"Yes," I answered you last night;
"No," this morning, sir, I say:
Colors seen by candlelight
Will not look the same by day.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning, "The Lady's 'Yes,' " 1844.
Sometimes it's not so easy writing a column that might make sense when all I can think of are four letter words to describe what I'm feeling. I thought eight years of the Bush GOP neocon regime would finally make me burst a blood vessel before it was over, and when we had the great organization across the country put together by Governor Dean, all things suddenly seemed possible . . . that we could finally get this crime family out of U.S. government once and for all, and into the narrow halls of justice using U.S. law . . . at last. It's been since Nixon that us Americans have had to live with the crimes of debt, death, and destruction caused by our own government officials. The destruction of hundreds of thousands of fellow human beings' lives. It would seem that every democratically thinking American, especially those in government working for the people, would want to finally clean up U.S. government's acts of incivility towards this country and the world.
However, Clinton didn't do it. He brought us NAFTA instead, and what did the Bush GOP neocons do, they impeached him for a dalliance. They couldn't care less about doing their job and working for the people. As it's been quoted by Bush number one, (paraphrasing) that he thinks he was the father that Clinton never had. Well, how does it feel to have a father who should have been investigated and prosecuted for crimes during his reign of terror known as the Iran/Contra affair. Great family values.
But, again, because U.S. law was shoved under the Bush GOP elitists' carpet, Bush number two did his number on the world, and brought this country down with the highest debt ever in U.S. history . . . who could ever imagine we would be owned by China. We've had every kind of crime imaginable committed without any investigations or prosecutions . . . then comes Obama . . . he told us all, over and over again, just how he could do the job, and how he would do the job. He knows how to campaign, and then, after the election . . . that's the last we've heard from him. It's seems odd to me that every time the Democrats get behind the beltway, they want to be friends with the Bush GOP neocons. Why? Those neocons don't give a damn about government. In just eight years, they are responsible for the deaths of over a million innocent people in Iraq, thousands of dead in Afghanistan, and the murder in cold blood of New Orleans. And, to further such a horrible inefficient act of out and out murder, Bush number two, making sure he was in front of the media, congratulates Brownie for a job well done . . . which I believe he meant with all of his being. Brownie did just what Bush wanted him to do . . . not a damn thing.
If we Americans want a Congress and a Democratic White House to just want to make friends and be good buddies with the Bush GOP neocon mob . . . just put the mob back in DC, because that's what these Bush GOP neocons want. What we Americans want is justice for what this country has done in our name and justice for those who cannot speak for themselves. We want industry that has been taken out of this country. We want jobs, healthcare, and maybe the most important of all, something that is never mentioned or talked about, but is a very big reason of why we are where we are today . . . we want the brains in this government that a free education would allow. Our government is strained for that because of the money it takes to get an education today, and because of the money it takes to get into U.S. government. Take the money out and put the brains in. We are losing the best this country has to offer by putting a price on everything for the American people and giving away our government to the elected officials who are supposed to be working for the people, but only to those who can raise the most money . . . what a sadistic joke on ourselves. Ask the American people if they had the money what kind of education would they want.
Since when is freedom of thought and speech only for the Bush GOP neocons and their hate speech, radio shock jocks? The attack on Van Jones because he wanted 9/11 investigated (We all know that Bush and his minions had at least a couple of months of warnings by our own CIA and did nothing except to warn their friends.) This is a reason for Van Jones to have to quit his job in a supposedly Democratic White House? Does anyone think Bush would ever do such a thing, when he never even listened to the real evidence before invading Iraq? Obama, we can't hear you.
Where's Obama when he should be standing up for someone who deserves not to have to quit his job? Why should this murdering, still unaccountable, criminal Bush GOP be dictating who is in the White House? Why do we have to listen to this good guy, bad guy routine between Obama and Rahm when it comes to liberals and progressives vs. neocons and blue dogs, who are just another way for the Bush GOP to rule the Democratic Party because they always vote with the Bush GOP neocons when it matters? I think it is safe to say that we Americans are sick to death of what is going on, and we are not going to quit until we get this nation back on track as a democracy and as a working government for the people. Hear that?
I said that I was going to hold my tongue, and I did so for months, but when I saw who Obama surrounded himself with, the DLC and the GOP . . . I knew right then that we liberals and progressives had been HAD! I knew when Rahm and Obama snubbed the very person who could deliver healthcare because he delivered them into the White House, Governor Dean . . . whose only memory by this neocon media we are stuck with today, was a scream of passion, something I still haven't seen or heard in Obama's speeches, and what kind of slick reason do we hear for this snub . . . Rahm doesn't like Dean. This is responsible leadership? The passion that elected Obama came from the people and that passion got Obama elected for one reason only, and that was to clean up and to clear off every single, criminal thing George Bush did in the name of this country. There's no mistake that Obama did not understand that.
The lack of standing up to the Bush GOP neocons in this last Van Jones case, a group of war for profits, who are not a part of this government, who are not a Party of balance and opposition, but are a Party of debt, death, and destruction without conscience, and without accountability, is not representing the people of this nation. How could you, President Obama, think of pandering to such a loud, vicious and unruly mob, who supported the criminal acts of the Bush/Cheney/Rove regime 100% of the time, and turn your back on the people who put you into the White House? If there is a devil, you would have a better chance of dealing with the devil himself than with those neocons. If they could, they would do completely away with U.S. government and U.S. law. And, probably have said so before. Remember Reagan spouting such lines over and over again. These Right Wing GOP neocons love a government that is just for them and only for them, and they make millions.
I have to wonder if Obama has ever heard of what happens when you 'lie down with dogs.' With normal dogs, you get up with fleas, but with neocon dogs, you get attacked, and no amount of training, talking, petting will ever change those attack dogs. They are in this political fight for their continued war on this nation and the world. War for profit. So, quit trying to be a President Clinton, who, if he had done his job, we probably wouldn't have been stuck with Bush number two. The Supreme Court even has its limits, I guess. Clinton stopped the investigations against Bush number one for the Iran Contra affair, and continue the bombing of depleted uranium bombs even after reports of thousands of birth defects. Defects that we Americans saw in photos. Want the news and the horror of it, go across the ocean.
However, no one investigated the first invasion into Iraq. It's been said that Saddam called Bush number one, telling him that Kuwait was drilling slanted oil wells and taking Iraq's oil, and that he was going to stop it. Texas knows all about slanted oil wells . . . there were trials for such things many years ago. Then, we read that Bush tricked Saddam and used this ploy to invade Iraq and get their oil, but he didn't go into Baghdad, and that's where his son enters the criminal picture, and the U.S., once a great country, invades another country on trumped up evidence of "well they might be a threat." I couldn't believe that this country could sink so damn low and put such a small price on other people's lives. And, now we are still stuck in that same filthy, stinking, Bush GOP neocon quagmire. We are no longer seen as a reputable, trustworthy country. We are permanently stained. Stained with blood. Five thousand of our own young people are permanently dead, and at least a million of innocent Iraqi citizens. Bastards, cold hearted bastards.
Again, because those in government in DC, I guess, are slow learners, or there is more bipartisanship going on behind the scenes than we Americans are aware of . . . when people are allowed to continue to commit crimes without fear of U.S. law, they just become more full of themselves. And, this is what we are seeing of those who are still proud to call themselves Bush GOP neocons in this country. All 22% of them. It's not just the rise of their hate-filled racism, it's their greed, because let's face it, they don't really care about anybody who isn't just like them. We, the majority of this country, which account for over 75%, together, can become a giant tsunami of human activity, who want our democracy back, and who want accountability for the crimes committed in this government. It's half a century past the time for U.S. law to be seen active in U.S. government. And, the crimes have not stopped. They have become more violent, more frequent, and no one should have to lose their life because of the greed of some group that is giving orders and can be found spouting off about invasions/occupations while sitting behind expensive, giant oak desks and well protected.
Ask those three to four million Iraqi citizens who live outside the boundaries of Iraq. How many Americans can envision the carnage done in the name of this country by the same Bush GOP neocons who are constantly getting their way in DC today? Unbelievable.
Where is the passion in Obama's administration? Passion about doing the right thing. We don't see it, and we don't hear it. Let's start with the latest figures of us Americans who want decent healthcare for all in this country. A poll of 78% says that Americans want healthcare. Every poll says this. So, if we are to take all of the polls into consideration, the slim 22% of Bush GOP neocons are still trying to run this country, and that includes the Bush GOP neocons who are in U.S. government. They couldn't care less about saving lives and should be held accountable for the support they gave to the murdering Bush/Cheney/Rove regime. Those are the same 22% who are constantly seen in MSM as if they represent the majority of this country. They get in the news with their tea parties and their insulting behavior in town hall meetings, while we, the majority, do not get represented.
The attack on Van Jones should be seen as the last straw. Why do we have hate radio in a country that is supposed to be a flourishing democracy, and call this freedom of speech? Why do we have a mainstream media who drives the politics of this country with their own headlines? Actually, going back, they chose Clinton and Obama long before either decided to run for the presidency. Why? Because they thought that the only way a Republican could win, after the crimes of Bush number two, would be against a woman or a black man. Obama was able to convince people he would do the job of cleaning up this country's mess. It's not what the MSM says, it's what they don't say. This is why accountability for the crimes committed by the Bush GOP neocon regime must be investigated and prosecuted, not tomorrow, but today. Many things don't make sense in this country and they are all connected to racism and the greed for continued power by that same Bush GOP regime, and this will not stop until these criminals are made accountable for past crimes.
Just look at the ignorant neocon tea-bag parties. Then, let's talk about the town meetings. When I grew up we had a "Sergeant of Arms," who stood up during the meetings and was supposed to walk those out who would create a disturbance. This never was taken seriously, mainly, because people behaved themselves in those meetings. But, when I watched one of the town meetings where a young woman, in a wheelchair, was talking about her healthcare and how she worried about losing her home, and was heckled by a stout male neocon dolt, and others . . . whose friends, family and supporters should forever be ashamed of such unfeeling behavior shown on national TV . . . what do these types of Americans feel for the thousands who die every year because they cannot afford healthcare . . . what do these people feel for all of our military who died due to an illegal invasion/occupation? Are they capable of feeling at all? I doubt it, seriously, doubt it. They only feel what's in their own pockets. A large dose of accountability would bring about some of those missing feelings.
I was ashamed that this country allowed such callousness in meetings where people wanted to discuss something as serious as healthcare that could cost them their homes, their lives . . . when this country, under democratic leadership bailed out banks and Wall Street and those bastards kept their bonuses . . . when we citizens out in the mother land have at least 50 million people without any healthcare, and it's reported five million without jobs, and how many living on the streets in this so-called wealthy country? Can anyone in the Obama White House answer any of those questions?
Whatever happened to "disturbing the peace" as an offense, and why weren't these people taught to be respectful . . . handcuffs and a fine would have changed these town-hall meetings, and a few rotten attitudes towards people who are ill and losing their homes. Bush had people arrested for tee shirts with the word "peace" on them. Protesters against an illegal war and the deaths of thousands were arrested for doing nothing more than walking in protest. Arrested by cops in riot gear. This is not the America I grew up in and I damn sure refuse to allow it to become the country I saw on TV. Americans, you worried about Nazis and Communists? Don't. Worry about what is happening here in the U.S. today because of the constant propaganda and fear used by this criminal Bush GOP neocon political party who are only loyal to themselves, certainly, not to this country.
If this country's democracy falls, it will not come from the outside, it will come from the inside and our government will implode on its self, because there is nothing left to hold it up. Another reason U.S. law is very important.
After all of this, Rahm keeps coming out against the very people, the Progressives and the Liberals, who gave him the opportunity for his behind to be put into the White House for one reason and only one reason and that reason was for "CHANGE." Which meant, everything the criminal Bush/Cheney/Rove regime did to this country must be thrown out.
But, what are we left with? Hate radio and a small group (22%) of Bush GOP Right Wing neocons force-feeding the Obama administration . . . why is this? I want to hear Obama speak up for his own administration as if he had the power. At least act like it and sound like it.
I have news for these Bush GOP neocon hate mongers, and the Obama administration . . . this time, the Liberals and the Progressives are going to be the Gator that won't let go until we become your worst nightmare. We are not going to allow a government that claims to be a democracy, get away with the debt (owned by China), death (over a million innocent people), and destruction of this country, Iraq, and Afghanistan. And, we will never allow Americans to forget the horrible murder of New Orleans, and the lack of sorrow that came from the Bush administration as well as his family.
You can't fake change any more than you can bring back those who lost their lives due to a criminal Bush GOP neocon Right Wing regime. Where's the anger? It's all out in the motherland. I guaran-damn-tee you. And, if the Bush GOP keeps up with their hate and violence against just about everybody who has an opinion . . . accountability is going to come, with or without Obama and Rahm.
Long past time to take off the bipartisanship gloves. There's Cognizable Change, 'Cheep' Change; or even Cheap Change; and if nothing gets done, there will be no change, just One Nation (Still) Under the Bush GOP. . . President (the one with the power) Obama, what's it going to be? You are the leader and many of the Democrats in Congress are not going to speak out unless they hear you. You need to decide whose side you are really on.

More Fine Pearls of Wisdom!
Shirley, if more people read your words and thought about what you present (without getting distracted over your gaffes), this would be a very different country - a much better one!

News or Propaganda
Shirley,
Your comment about depleted uranium is pure propaganda. You said if you want news, go across the ocean. To where?, Iran's Press TV (this looks like it might have come from there) -
you said that
"continue the bombing of depleted uranium bombs even after reports of thousands of birth defects. Defects that we Americans saw in photos. Want the news and the horror of it, go across the ocean."
There is no such thing as a depleted uranium bomb. DU was used to kill tanks with kinetic energy penetrators, small diameter metal rods fired at high velocity from tank and aircraft cannon. These were fired at Saddam's tanks during the Gulf War, at Milosevich's and other Serbian tanks in the Balkans (the tanks used to sit on hills and bombard marketplaces) and Saddam's tanks again in 2003. They are not bombs, but they often did cause the targeted tank to explode. They did that because the "kinetic energy" was converted to intense heat enabling the rod to burn its way through the armor plate and often ignite and detonate the tank's on-board ammunition and fuel.
There have been no reports of "thousands of birth defects" The birth defect reports were started by Saddam Hussein in about 1992. They never had a connection to depleted uranium and some of the grotesque photos may have even been of specimens in jars at a Czarist era Russian museum. See www.depletedcranium.com for more about the origin of some of these photos. If you look closely at the photos, you will see that the same group of photos, several of which come from Dr Siegwart Horst-Gunther who visited Iraq in 1992 or 1993, and who had no real knowledge of birth defects, not all MDs are neonatal practitioners, are repeated again and again. Want to really contribute to the discussion, take these photos to a local pediatrician and ask him what he or she thinks about them. You will probably be surprised.

Where is the passion...passion about doing the right thing?
Yup. Why the smart money is on watching him sell us out on health care in the Wednesday night speech. Mandatory "Part D" for all Americans for all medical will keep America strong funneling our remaining money to the insurance companies, you betcha!
the answer to many of your (albeit rhetorical)
questions is: human nature. More specifically, power really does corrupt, and though none are immune to its lure, few are capable of resisting.
Not Enough
Obama inherited a situation ressembling the one that faced FDR when he took office. The difference is that FDR chose which side he was on and defended the defenseless with all the vigor of his office. He affronted the corporations, monopolies and monied interests that had just one goal - Overtrhowing his administration. So far Obama has done nothing but bow and scrape to those same monied interests and compromise the lives of those who brougjht him to the WH. He chose his advisors - is he lacking in judgment or does he agree with them?
I posted this on another site concerning healthcare.
"That provision is designed to help customers determine whether they are getting a fair deal at a good price."
What are we talking about here? Customers? People who are ill are patients, not customers. I will not lift a finger in 2010 or 2OI2, no matter what happens. This is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Never again the lesser of two evils. If there are enough of us there can be a third party that the country needs so badly. If there are not it makes no difference. These two parties, the Republican and Democratic are taking us down and hanging our skins out to dry.
Why they picked Hillary and Obama
They didn't pick Hillary and Obama because they thought any Republican could beat those two DINOs. They picked those two DINOs precisely because they are DINOs.
The deck was stacked against WE THE PEOPLE from the start. No matter who won the presidency, Republican or Democrat, they would control yet another puppet of the upper 1% plutocracy.
Besides that, we now have a few Blue Dog traitors in the Senate who are dictating their wished to the House. Pelosi can talk the talk, but she won't lead the House into passing their bill first. Once the Senate passes their bill without the compromise public option, the House will cave in, again. They will play the blame game again and WE THE PEOPLE will get screwed, again.
It's amazing how just a few million dollars of legalized bribe money can control the entire Congress and White House.
I wonder what a few hundred thousand dollars will do when progressives finance true Democrats against the Blue Dogs in next year's Democratic Primaries?
"True Democrats"???
Based on your definition? LOL!
Too funny ....
BTW - Yeah, ..... I'm sure a few hundred thousand dollars will start a groundswell in the public, causing them to rise up against the "upper 1% plutocracy," and put "real Democrats" in office.
