How Do You Hide a Friendly Bush GOP Hippopotamus Named Neofascism
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
Buzz Flash,
The hippopotamus is one of the most aggressive creatures in the world and is often regarded as the most ferocious animal in Africa.
Hippopotamus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
With all of this talk against healthcare for American citizens by the neoconservatives in Congress . . . I've noticed something very obvious in MSM's reporting lately. We all have seen the numbers. Seventy-five percent of us Americans want good healthcare. Personally, after seeing Sicko by Michael Moore, I want what Canada has or the French have or the kind of caring healthcare that Great Britain has for its citizens and/or copies of the healthcare that many other countries around the world provide for their people. And, what do people do when they want to copy successful programs? They talk to those people. But, we haven't seen any of that, have we?
With the type of coverage by this country's MSM, all of the reports that we Americans see in the media are all about the Bush GOP support group of 25%, all of the time. A group, who, through whatever rose colored glasses they see with when viewing this Bush GOP today, are against their own good health care, their families' good healthcare, their neighbors' good health care . . . who is going to take care of them when this nation, a nation that has over 50 million people without healthcare at all, comes down with some national tragedy. No one should die because they cannot go to a clinic or a doctor.
We saw this with the constant news clips of the minority again when reporting on the Bush GOP teabaggers. What we don't see in U.S. news are the views of the majority of the people of this nation. That's how it's been for the last half of this century. This type of reporting by TV, radio, and printed news, represents only 25% of the people of this nation, yet, they try to make it look as it they are reporting on the majority.
Today, that kind of selling is not going to work. Those 75% of American citizens are beginning to understand that in order to have a government (of, by, and for the people) that represents all of us, those most responsible citizens who care about the nation as a living, breathing democracy for all . . . they are going to have to stay organized out in the mother land. We Americans are going to have to bring our government back ourselves.
What's most glaringly in the news is how non-conservative the Bush GOP really are as a group when it comes to what they can get out of something, and how they think people should talk to them or recognize them as representing the people of this country. After all, I don't have to remind the informed populace that our debt (highest ever in U.S. history) is due to these same so-called neoconservative people who are against healthcare and talk about the cost. What a joke. These same members of Congress were 100% for attacking Afghanistan after 911, knowing that those people were not responsible, but didn't care about their deaths . . . 5,000 at that time killed for nothing but arrogance and revenge by Bush and Cheney. (Nothing is ever said about the fact that Bush was warned months before and took it seriously enough to warn a few friends) This can't be repeated enough times.
The lies to invade and occupy another country, Iraq, put today's figures of the deaths of men, women and children, (reportedly mostly children) over a million lives were taken for nothing other than the arrogance of the Bush GOP regime . . . American lives and the innocent people who just wanted to live out their lives in Iraq, and 3-4 million people have been displaced. Homes destroyed, hospitals destroyed, history records and national treasures destroyed. The killings still go on. Plus that multimillion dollar castle that Bush built as a U.S. embassy to himself.
Saddam was a friend of the Bush/Cheney regime for years and knew too much, so they say. The problem was that he misjudged them and didn't really know them at all. I could say that same thing about many citizens of this country. Those same members of Congress, who say they are so worried about some Nazi death-program in healthcare, supported those millions of deaths for eight long treasonous years and the years of punishment by Bush number one down through the Clinton years of bombing and sanctions, which were used against the people by Saddam himself. They also watched New Orleans murdered, while Bush celebrated McCain's birthday.
The truth is, and the majority of Americans know this, we are patiently waiting for a Democratic Congress to just do their jobs and stop worrying about being friends with these criminals whose support proves that they would rather kill people than save lives, and have voted over and over again to do so . . . who, by their own actions, have shown, not just us Americans, but the whole world that they don't give a damn about saving lives. What they do care about is saving their bank accounts. Their loyalty to the almighty dollar, and their loyalty to the Bush GOP. It cannot be said enough, and I'll put my trust in the majority of Americans every day before I put it in those who are supposed to work for us Americans, and who sell their souls to the highest bidders. Why do people not wonder how this came about? Deregulation and privatization of corporations and American Common Wealth, starting thirty years ago with Reagan and Bush number one.
Our troubles did not start just eight years ago. It's been going on for years without any accountability. Bush number one should have been tried for his crimes while in office, but, Clinton wanted to be liked and make friends . . . and, in hindsight, yes, but no one fears U.S. law in U.S. government and this is how these bullying revolts keep on continuing every year by the Bush GOP for no other reason than to get their own way . . . and what is most maddening, the Democrats, for some sick, untreated reasoning, always give in.
Examples of how lifesaving this Bush GOP has been even to Americans. I pity people who are so willfully ignorant and stupid to follow such a criminal group, who have not been made accountable, yet. But, murder has no statute of limitation. And, those guilty of those crimes will pay one day. This country should have had healthcare years ago, the highest and cheapest education in the world, and the best and most exporting productivity for the American worker . . . not 800 military bases and a nation where over 50 percent of our budget goes to military grandiose ideas on how to kill cleaner or faster, and supported by this Bush GOP who are so worried about healthcare . . . these people in the military think by using robots that the American people will not care how many people they kill. Is this the kind of representation the majority of Americans want for us around the world? I refuse to think so.
I'm from an old-fashioned (and proud of it) era where you didn't get reports of thousands of people dying due to no healthcare, bad healthcare or guns. Who could imagine a country where children can get shot just sitting in their own homes. I grew up in a nation where a person could get a job, maybe the money wasn't like today, however, neither were the costs. We didn't see street people all over this country. We didn't even have the need for "discount stores." Young people could travel around this country without fear. Get a meal if hungry. A much kinder, gentler, caring nation, where communities actually cared about their citizens. Where small towns with small businesses could survive, and today, due to big ideas and greedy, small minds, those towns are dust bowls or ghost towns. The simple, down to earth American dream was made into a nightmare. It only took them about 50 years. Back then we didn't have multibillionaires representing American citizens. We didn't have 1% of this country owning more than the other 99%. And, I doubt it would have been allowed by the leaders back then.
We have been brutalized with such Bush GOP arrogant, snobbery talk about the poor not having "boot straps." Every immigrant family who came to this country from the 1500's on, came with the expectations of their dreams being realized, and most were poor. But, this is what has happened and the date of this news item below was in 2008 . . . all of which, is what has been dumped into the lap of the Democrats . . . so, who should give a damn about what any of these neoconservatives in Congress and the news media think? They will never think about democracy first . . . they only use it to forward their own ideas of a dictatorial and violent government that we have had for the last 30 years . . . and, they and their supporters get louder and more violent in their rhetoric as the years pass.

Woman, 90, Apparently Shoots Self During Foreclosure Eviction - News Story - WEWS Cleveland
The above is an example of what has become of the American dream . . . another deadly and violent nightmare . . . but, we don't see any of the Bush GOP members of Congress giving a damn . . . do we? This country bailed out millionaires and billionaires this year, and then common American folk, due to financial scams, were put out of their homes. Out on the streets. Many lost homes and jobs at the same time. This is not and never could be the country I grew up in.
Who 'wudda' thought that we would see such cruel actions in this country, however, who would have thought that we would see our military on the streets of this nation, homeless, without good healthcare. A government that refused to recognize PTS as a health problem, even after many suicides and family murders. Who would have thought that we would see news clips of the homeless being dumped out of hospitals onto the streets. Who could have imagined that over 50 million American citizens don't have the money to take care of their own health? Again, it makes their protesting against some kind of sick idea about death panels a joke. A sick joke. But, we Americans aren't buying it.
These are the same people the Democrats in the Obama White House want to please? I used to believe in a two Party system, but when one Party, such as the Bush GOP, has done what they have done to this country, forget it. We don't need those kind of people in U.S. government, we need many of them in jail. Today, I don't give a damn if any Bush GOP survive any future election. These neocons need to be put out of government. They don't give a damn about the American people, and they have proved it for over thirty years . . . and, if Americans were as smart as they think they are, these people would become just another bad memory in time and only found in history books. And, I'm not joking.
How did this happen to us? This Republican Party of war . . . of debt, death, and destruction . . . the loss of everything good, moral, and I realize there will always be hate groups of one kind or another, but today, we have over 800 and growing, and a political party that does not want to work for the people . . . I believe that the majority of this country today, understand by now, what the word "liberal" means and what the word "fascism" means. And, it's always been a constant and insulting ploy used by the Bush GOP to accuse Democrats, liberals, progressives or anyone else who disagrees with them, of the actions that they, themselves, are committing. But, it's never exposed by a mainstream media that is not doing their job. Their bottom line has become more important than democracy. Journalists who are investigative are rare in this country today. The news is put on like a 30 minute, unreal, reality entertainment show . . . giggles, showy looks, and all.
Even when they (the Bush GOP) worked so hard to impeach President Clinton, Gingrich and others were screwing around on their spouses (crude language, but true, these are crude people) . . . what's his number now . . . three? Four? Who cares and why is he still in the news? But, the Bush GOP sex scams go on and on. Which should tell us Americans, that these people, with high jobs in U.S. government, don't have their heads or their minds on their business, and probably never have. In the news, they are all show. Connections, lobbyists, lies, propaganda propped up by big guy media in this country instead of printing the truth . . . they'd rather sell propaganda rag.
Friendly Fascism is not a new idea to this country . . . let's take a look back . . . the only reason the Bush GOP can accuse the Democrats of fascism is because they count on the average Americans to be illiterate and ill informed. They've worked on that for years.
Friendly Fascism - The New Face of Power in America - by Bertram Gross- South End Press, 1980, paper
p. 168
... in the movement toward friendly fascism, any sudden forward thrust at one level could be followed by a consolidating pause or temporary withdrawal at another level. Every step toward greater repression might be accompanied by some superficial reform, every expansionist step abroad by some new payoff at home, every well-publicized shocker (such as the massacres at Jackson State, Kent State, and Attica, the Watergate scandals or the revelations of illegal deals by the FBI or CIA) by other steps of less visibility but equal or possibly greater significance, such as large welfare payments to multinational banks and industrial conglomerates. At all stages the fundamental directions of change would be obscured by a series of Hobson's choices, of public issues defined in terms of clear-cut crossroads-one leading to the frying pan and the other to the fire. Opportunities would thus be provided for learned debate and earnest conflict over the choice among alternative roads to serfdom . . (snip)

The major responsibility of corporate executives, so long as they are not constrained by enforced law, is to maximize their long-term accumulation of capital and power no matter what the cost may be to ... people or physical resources.
Friendly Fascism The New Face of Power in America by Bertram Gross
Sound familiar? I want to also remind those Americans who have been given such loud voices without any cops around, that they should review U.S. history, where people who are against "war" from the Vietnam war on to both Gulf Wars, have suffered many various abuses by U.S. government for being against their damn wars, even though, it's our own children, husbands, and wives in the National Guard and U.S. Military who are paying the price for these Bush GOP wars with their lives and livelihoods. Remember when New Orleans needed their National Guard and they were being shipped out to Iraq? Remember reading about the deaths of fellow Americans just due to the heat in Iraq and because they were in their 50s and 60s in the National Guard? Dying in their sleep?
I have to wonder how many of those Bush GOP supporters have ever served in any war or in the military period. We have read that Bush disappeared while in the military, and that is called being AWOL, but, having a "big daddy," probably helped in that he was never made accountable . . . in the same way he got his so-called education. Then there's the arrogance of the Supreme Court who broke the law to place Bush into the White House . . . still, no accountability for what they caused the world because of their breaking U.S. law.
Those who think it's okay to disrupt town meetings and yell at tea-bag parties fear no accountability because they are working for the Bush GOP . . . they are following the constant loud voices we hear coming from the Bush GOP in Congress . . . and they do nothing, but complain and vote against everything that is for the good of the American people . . . unless they are sending them to war. They will always vote for that. What is almost a joke and should be considered as another of their sick jokes . . . is the fact that these people, the Bush GOP members of Congress, think that by doing nothing for this country (without any additional plans, wholesome ideas, etc.) that we Americans will want them in government again. When they are responsible for never standing up against the corruption of the Bush/Cheney/Rove GOP regime? Remember reading that Cheney's company, Halliburton, was going bankrupt before he made himself Vice President?
Guns Drawn, Cops Bust in on Citizens Who Plan to Protest RNC | Video | AlterNet
Remember the incident above? How much trust should we put into some of our police departments when they are supposed to protect U.S. citizens. Why would they take on such an act, knowing that it was against the law? Any accountability for any of these crimes of aggression against citizens that were committed during the last eight years . . . hell no. Not the only time we read about Bush telling cops to harass the American public, and they did as they were told.
Where were these neoconservative Bush Republicans when these acts of aggression towards anyone who disagreed with Bush or Cheney were happening? Many of those Americans who think it's okay to treat people who disagree with them as if they are criminal, usually can be found to be members of hate groups and they are only allowed to hate because they do live in a democracy, and they know this. However, I believe in the old quote, (paraphrasing) Let them hate as long as they fear. And, that's not happening in today's government. All of those same behaviors can be found in all dictatorial governments.
Below, a reminder of what neoconservative leadership has always been . . . debt, death, and destruction and abuse of power.
By comparison, the deficit a year earlier was $162 billion, while the previous high was $413 billion in 2004, the Treasury said Tuesday. The gap was 3.2 percent of the gross domestic product, up from 1.2 percent last year, the Treasury said.
The 2008 deficit was the largest as a share of the economy since 2004, when it was 3.6 percent of the gross domestic product, the government's principal measure of the country's output of goods and services.
By comparison, under President Ronald Reagan and the first President Bush, the deficit was more than 4 percent of the gross domestic product.
Deficit Hits $455 Billion, Highest Percent Since '04 - NYTimes.com
In my opinion, and I'm not being sarcastic . . . we have children smarter than some of those members who, for some odd reason, make it into U.S. government. They take oaths, but probably don't even think about them or care about them. The same type of persons, who, when you are talking to them, are not listening, but instead, are thinking more about what they are going to say back to you.
Think about it . . . it can happen here . . . or we would be having investigations and criminal trials by now.
NOTE: Some of these symptoms are found in non-fascist countries where they should be treated as serious warning signs. On the other hand, fascist states - unlike democratic nations - have many, if not all, of these symptoms.
CLUE THAT YOUR COUNTRY MAY BE TURNING INTO A FASCIST STATE
How many of these symptoms do you recognize that have happened during the Bush GOP regime?
From a children's book in the 1960s, "How to Hide a Hippopotamus," by Volney Crosswell. The answer is quite simple in the book . . . you hide him in a "herd of Hippopotamuses."
And, that's what we are facing today with the Bush GOP herd and their racket of stomping, yelling about socialism, Nazism, false accusations, hate speech, rude racist rhetoric, word-bloated blustering, lying, complaining, protesting, and more lying . . . hating a democratic government, the very same government that allows them to act out against it, and the same people who were not so kind and gentle towards U.S. citizens who disagreed with them in the recent Bush GOP past, so, they will do and say whatever it takes because, so far, they do not fear . . . and, the Bush GOP members in Congress are playing for very high stakes.

And what of the Blue Dog DINO-Fascists?
Why do you not berate the Blue Dogs and Obama for continuing on with a kinder, gentler version of the Bush administration?
Obama has already committed numerous crimes for which he could and should be impeached. So don't try to put all the blame on the Republicans when Democrats are just as guilty.
I Have To Agree
It's a fair question. While the GOP is clearly the bigger threat to what remains of American democracy, the Democrats have done nothing to halt the slide into corporatist fascism when they haven't actively abetted the plan. We are stuck with both of these gangs of corporatist toadies for the time being, so wouldn't it be better to apply pressure on the Democrats where it just might do a little bit of good? They also deserve calumny and denunciation. Just because they are the only current alternative to the Republicans, that doesn't get them a Get Out of The Spotlight free pass. We already know that the Republicans are a lost cause, so continuing to beat that dead horse will only ruin the meat we might need to survive the coming famine.
