The Publicized Rape of Public Discourse Without Fear of Accountability

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Buzz Flash,

"A politician thinks of the next election; a statesman thinks of the next generation." James Freeman Clarke (d.1888), Sermon

It's quite obvious just taking a long look at this nation's track record of debt, death, and destruction . . . that, we don't have enough statesmen representing the people of this nation. And, those are not statesmen who were a voice of support for the Bush GOP regime and who still get respect and quoted by the media instead of being exposed for their constant use of racism and propaganda against Obama. Why is this? Because, so far, this country does not have U.S. law in U.S. government. One way to quiet the arrogant voice of the criminal and treasonous Bush GOP.

We Americans of this great country are still having to fight for our own government to be of, by, and for the people of this country. After all of the lives taken for this country, and today, out in the open, there are those who don't give a damn about the people of this nation, only what they can get out of it for themselves. We saw this in the 2000 election and the willingness of our own Supreme Court to break the law to put their GOP boy in the White House. We saw this in 2004 with more fraud in our election across this country and still, we couldn't depend on our Democrats in Congress to do anything about it. Bush should never have been in the White House ever, and most of the American citizens, today, understand this. But, that doesn't bring back the dead, those whose lives were lost due to a criminal government.

It's only a matter of time, and maybe that time has come, judging from the numbers we see . . . American citizens who want this country to start doing for the people of this nation, what it should have been doing years ago in the same way as Canada, France, and Great Britain have done for their citizens, instead of becoming a very expensive military presence all around the world.

To those 75% of American citizens who want healthcare, who want this nation to start living up to the best that we can be, instead of constantly being compared to third world nations . . . Have the Bush GOP paid performers come to your town hall meeting yet? Only in a Bush GOP America could past protests against the debt, death, and destruction caused by the Bush GOP in DC become brawls by police in riot gear and arrests made. Only in a Bush GOP America would there be a fence around what used to be a White House open to the people of this country. Only in a Bush GOP America could people get arrested for a Democratic bumper sticker found on a car at a Bush GOP fund raiser and rally.

I find it strange that the protests by the Bush GOP teabaggers and their racist radicals who are in the nightly news, and who are being bussed around the country to disrupt town meetings regarding healthcare are not bothered by police . . . are not arrested for disturbing the peace of these meetings or for violating the rights of those who attend such town hall meetings, even when they are not of that town.

Two things at play in my mind . . . where are the Democrats and where are in-depth reports by MSM on why these disruptions are taking place. For the last eight years, many of the tactics used by the Bush GOP were reminiscent of pre-fascist Germany and the same remains today when we see the Bush Republican Party paying people who don't give a damn about Democracy, just as long as they can use it and live in it, using the same tactics that Hitler used during his rise to power . . . using the horrible economic situations of the people and their anger, that eventually caused them to vote against their own better judgment and future, as we now know and need to remember. The Bush GOP identify with their money, they used it in Pakistan to bribe people to fill their prisons, and they used it all the while in Iraq to get what they wanted from people. We saw the bricks lined with cash . . . and, we have the highest debt ever in this nation's history to prove it, and we are now owned by China. So, why does anyone, including the Democrats in Congress, still listen to any member of the Bush GOP? They not only don't do government, but also they can't do government.

We Americans have not had a government for the people of this nation since Nixon, who was never made accountable even back then. The eighties, now forgotten by many as they look to Reagan as a hero, were terrible for many Americans during those years of joblessness, poverty, and inflation. Years and years of crime and debt, and, as Clinton stopped the investigations, tried to be a bipartisan resident of the White House with the Republican Congress, learned very quickly that whatever he did to please them, it would never be enough. Today, Clinton negotiated with the North Korean government to release U.S. journalists who were going to be spending years in a jail. The Bush GOP in U.S. Congress complained, even though Clinton got the job done. This should not surprise anyone, since the Bush GOP in Congress never negotiates anything. President Obama knows this and should act for the betterment of us Americans as if the Bush GOP were not there, because they are not there in U.S. government for the people, and they never have been there, ever.

Lessons should have been learned by those in Congress from the actions of the Bush GOP during the time Clinton was in the White House. We Americans had eight years of MSM hell. They have not changed and they never will change as they do not believe in democratic values. Hello? How many lives . . . how many years of debt, death, and destruction is it going to take for our Congress to act and make the people responsible for these crimes accountable instead of trying to get along with criminals.

Racism is still able to flaunt its ugly head around this country and is the basis of everything the Bush GOP stands for today. A political party longing for the old slave days of yesteryear. Generation after generation taught to hate people because of the color of their skin. One problem facing the people of this nation today is that we do not get true pictures of how brutal and hard life was for a slave due to the arrogance of the white man who thought that owning human beings was no different from owning animals, and they were treated worse than the animals. Slaves could be killed if they knew how to read or write. Hundreds of thousands of slaves died at the hands of their owners for years and years, long before the Civil War, and for years after that war. And, we are still having to deal with the stupidity and arrogance of racism, not only by some of our citizens, but it can be found in our Bush GOP members of Congress too. The disrespect shown by these members in Congress should be against their own oaths they take, because they are not representing U.S. democracy or the people of this country who put President Obama into office.

This racism did get reported to the American people years ago. For instance, in the 1949 Annual of American Society of Photographers, Richard Tucker asks a friend to get him into a night court in Mobile, Alabama. "I was ashamed to admit such things could happen in our country. (snip) The white whorehouses are left alone, but the colored girls are harassed and thrown in jail merely because they do not make enough to bribe the police. When one is arrested, the money-lending leeches friendly to the police bail them out -- and from then on have the girls in their power."

Another picture and great reporting in this annual of 1949 by Edward Clark titled "Self-admitted Lynchers." "In Greenville, South Carolina, these twenty-three men took Willie Earle, a Negro accused of stabbing and robbing a taxi driver, from the local jail. They beat him, kicked him, and pounded him with the butt of a shotgun; they stabbed him five times, gouged a huge piece of flesh out of his thigh, and finally blew off most of his head with the shotgun. Life assigned Clark to cover the trial, called this "one of the rarest photographs ever taken." Cameras were naturally banned in the courtroom, where the admitted lynchers were freed by a jury amid general jubilation." (The picture is of all of those 23 men.)

I have to ask where in the hell are we in the U.S. today when we still allow such hatred to be demonstrated by those who want to rule this country. Their behavior reminds me again of Hitler's Germany years ago and this is what he said . . . remember, Hitler killed Jews, gays, people with physical defects, etc. and some of his worst of the famous SS were women, especially one whose name was "Irma Grese," 21 years old, a beautiful blond, with a hairdo and face of a Betty Grable look-alike, and was on trial before a British military court. In the camps, she was known to tie the legs of pregnant women together and watch them die during childbirth. This kind of cruelty is not something that can't happen again and again and again, especially in a society that wants to just "get along," without any accountability for the crimes that are being committed against this country and those committed in the past. The Bush GOP's invasion into Iraq killed over a million innocent people, and displaced three to four million families. His military attack in Afghanistan for 911, without thought or trial for who was guilty, killed up to 5,000 innocent men, women, and children. Shame is what this brutal Bush GOP brought to this country and they still don't know when to shut up.

How can we, the U.S., tell other countries what they should and should not be doing when we have allowed our own government to invade and occupy another country for no reason other than the lies of our Executive Branch, and what is worse than that, a Congress that voted for Bush to do whatever the hell he wanted to do? Of course, this would not be the first time this country under Bush Republican rule fought against and supported the opposition of a democratic government's selection in an election. These same supporters of that treasonous and criminal Bush GOP regime are the same members of Congress that Obama keeps wanting to get along and let bygones be bygones. That's not going to happen. If this U.S. government is ever to regain any respect and support around the world ever again, (the kind of support we had right after 9/11) these people who committed these crimes have to be made accountable and those who supported them in Congress have to be ignored, because they do not have the best interests in mind for the people of this nation or any other nation.

Yes, we have freedom of speech, but when it is allowed to create murder and abuse to citizens of this country that takes away their rights as citizens as we have seen time and time again, under the idea that it's a freedom, a freedom that was never allowed under the Bush GOP, those people using our Bill of Rights in order to take away the rights of others should be made responsible.

"All those who are not racially pure are mere chaff." Mein Kampf, Ch.2. "Only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on the memory of the crowd." Ch 6. "The broad mass of a nation . . . will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one. Ch 10. "In starting and waging a war it is not right that matters, but victory. The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (W.L.Sharer), Ch 16.

How many times have we heard from the Bush GOP regime that we needed to "win" in Iraq. Win what? How can the above be separated from the actions of the Bush GOP during the last eight years and seen in the actions of the Bush GOP today? The world did not let Germany let bygones be bygones. Americans, probably many, do not have any idea of the extremes that were allowed during Hitler's reign of terror. However, back then, we had reporting and pictures by our MSM . . . not today. Bodies were not counted in Iraq and our military who gave their lives, our youth of this nation and our older citizens who were in the National Guard came home in caskets that were not allowed to be counted or photographed by the Bush GOP regime. They didn't give a damn, and still don't. After all that the Bush GOP did to this country, they have not quit trying to get us all killed, either by starvation or by more war.

Does this sound like a democracy in action? Hell no. Over the last years of our history, since Nixon, our government has slowly become an entity within itself, for itself and about itself. Democrats and Republicans all acting like politicians instead of statesmen, except for a few, such as Senator Kennedy and Representative Kucinich, along with a number of others, who are faithful Democrats and can be counted on to stand up for the beliefs of not only the Democratic Party, but democracy itself. Obama wants us to be nice to the Blue Dogs. Why? Why should we Americans put up with anyone who supported the treasonous and criminal Bush GOP regime, and when it counts for the Bush GOP, they still support them.

This tug of war between us Americans and the Bush GOP, their supporters, Blue Dogs, and big guy media (MSM) will not go away. It's too important to the future of this country. The Republican Party we see today is not even a reflection of the Republican Party of yesterday. They don't even try to do government, they only try to disrupt government, any which way they can. And, if that means bussing people around this country, without fear of being arrested for disturbing the peace of town hall meetings, in the same way they did in Florida during the 2000 elections . . . and it worked . . . well, why not do it again. Why not keep killing people. Why not keep the propaganda flowing? Government on the theory that anything and anyone can be bought.

Eight years of protests against the crimes committed by the Bush GOP regime, and we liberals and progressives are still ignored by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress. Why? I never could understand how the Bush GOP members were able to make the word "liberal," a hated and feared word, when that hate actually identified them with the beliefs of Mussolini.

"Today the most striking of post-war experiences . . . are marked by the defeat of Liberalism. Mussolini, in Gerarchia, March 1923.

Well, here's what Mussolini was against:

Liberalism: Political and intellectual belie that advocates the right of the individual to make decisions, usually political or religious, according to the dictates of conscience. Its modern origins lie in the 18th-century Enlightenment. In politics, it opposes arbitrary power and discrimination against minorities. In British history, its greatest influence was exercised in the 19th century. In the U.S., liberalism has, since the 1930s, referred to a belief in government action to manage the economy and (from the 1960s on) to improve the position of women and racial minorities. Oxford World Encyclopedia 2001.

Alongside the healthcare legislation for this nation that is long overdue, this country should be in the midst of criminal war trials along with the cancellation of every single legislative mark against the American people made by the Bush GOP regime.

Yet, everywhere on TV and radio are the over zealous yakking heard from the Bush GOP . . . arrogant, demanding, rigid, and antidemocratic, without shame, sadness or remorse for what they have been supporting all of these past years . . .

"A dog is not considered good because of his barking, and a man is not considered clever because of his ability to talk. Chuang Tzu, Works, fourth century B.C.E.

No, but judging from the salaries some of these Bush GOP talking heads make . . . it pays good . . . it's the money that talks and has been doing the talking for the Bush GOP since Nixon. Why should any American listen to the ramblings of millionaires who are paid to be shock jocks? Paid to lie, use propaganda, and paid to cause fear and discontent in U.S. society, instead of talking for the people of this nation. They get paid high dollar for the use of freedom of speech against what's best for the American people.

What does that say about our government and U.S. democracy? It's the real reason that when it comes to the people of this nation, there's never enough money for healthcare or anything else the people want . . . jobs are cut, programs are cut, education is cut, welfare is cut, and so on and so on . . . until the people decide they have had enough debt, death, and destruction brought about by U.S. government. This same scenario will keep repeating itself because the people making the high dollars behind the beltway are actually working for many of our U.S. corporations instead of U.S. citizens. Pardon the old expression, but without a healthy and prosperous middle-class, how do they (anyone behind the Beltway being paid big bucks by U.S. corporations) think their luxury boat will keep afloat . . . by the waves of weak-minded, wishy-washy, overworked, word-soaked, anti-everything, political script?

Thanks Buzz Flash,

It Will Happen Here

"...without a healthy and prosperous middle-class, how do they (anyone behind the Beltway being paid big bucks by U.S. corporations) think their luxury boat will keep afloat..."

The answer is obvious if one is looking for it, and the role model is again the Third Reich.

A prosperous middle class isn't needed if the nation is militarily mobilized to take everything it wants from its neighbors. Hitler's Lebensraum was intended to come from lands inhabited by those sentenced to die by Hitler for not being German Aryans. America's future energy needs are to be paid by killing tribal Muslims living in conditions not countenanced as being human by the corporatists, and then taking their natural resources for our use. While too many of our fellow citizens are out in the field waging war for greed, those few whose swank existence depends upon exploiting the lowly will be maintained through the exercise of the Uniform Code of Military Justice upon a nation drafted to wage war for plutocracy. There will be no civil rights.

Whether Rome, Paris, or Berlin, history reports that such predators eventually fall to superior foreign forces enhanced by those who had been oppressed to support the swells. It will happen here. No GOP plutocrat can claim they weren't warned.

Plutocrats have no political party, they have money to buy votes

It is a myth to associate plutocrats with the GOP.

Plutocrats have no loyalty to any party. They don't care which party gets into office, just so long as the newly elected politician takes their campaign contributions (legalized bribes) and votes the way they want, which is for the benefit of the plutocrats.

Now they once again skillfully divide WE THE PEOPLE along another wedge issue, and thus conquer us, yet once again.

this righteous rant

is many times longer than the one to which we BF readers have been subjected daily, yet not a single exclamation point in sight. Remarkable.

Moderatism: the only ideology WORSE

... than Conservatism. No authoritarian ever got anything done without Moderates who were scared to be seen as "soft".

This article asks, how did "Liberal" become a dirty word. This is my pet peeve, I will tell you - I want "Conservative" to become a dirty word.

First of all, the reason that "Conservative" never became a dirty word, is that Liberals and Democrats have traditionally tried to explain that whatever un-popular stupdity perpetrated by Bush and Cheney, was "NOT true Conservatism". Liberals then proceed to explain the difference between the kook nuts we all know and the "theorteical Conservative" exemplified by mistaken ideas about Buckley, Goldwater.

By Contrast, Conservatives say "Liberal" twice in EVERY political sentence they utter. Then you have tertiary terms such as "big government" and "socialist". For every 2 or 3 times they say "Liberal", they say "socialist". Republicans do not say "tax and spend policies", they say, "tax and spend policies of big-government liberals". The very term "liberal" is: a) worn out by repetition, b) spoken with implied scorn, c) tied to every political weakness, d) implied as associated with "socialist" and "big-government" - this is sub-conscious stuff, e) implies that liberal is the opposite of impartial, f) repeated 1000 times a day because the rank and file on their side all understand the dirty word game. Another minor point is that we should tar ALL of mainstream Conservatism with their garbage not just "the extreme right". When did a Conservative ever explain, that "TRUE Liberalism" is OK? Never - that is why they are 20 years ahead in the dirty word game.

Misguided liberals

The outrages continue because liberals continue to vote for corporate-funded Democrats that allow them to continue.

Democrats voted for war. Democrats voted for the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and the Patriot Acts which overturned the Constitution. Democrats decided not to prosecute the American Nazis that tortured in our name. Democrats voted for the tax cuts for the wealthy. Democrats decided not to have a real investigation of how the neocons staged the 9/11 attacks. Democrats did nothing year after year about the serial Republican election frauds. Democrats voted for the trillions of dollars of bank bailouts.

While we're at it, Democrats saddled us with NAFTA, GATT, and the WTO agreements.

Your Democratic vote does more damage than just putting a corporate shill into power: It also gives this corporate-shill party undeserved legitimacy. People look at the Democratic vote totals and think it's unrealistic to vote for the Green Party, for example.

Want change? Stop voting for corporate-funded parties!

Voting for Greens won't help until the election system changes

As long as the plutocracy has private campaign contributions WE THE PEOPLE will have politicians selling their votes to the highest K Street lobbyist bidders.
