White on White - Democracy and the Bush GOP's Blight - Taking the High Road
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
The Republicans in Congress aren't fooling anyone out here in the motherland when they have said "no" to everything in President Obama's agenda, except for the bailout of the wealthy in this country. They aren't fooling anyone when they say they want his administration to fail. Their racism, their hate, their lack of responsibility towards American citizens are found to be astonishing. No? Actually, very predictable after the last eight years of their supporting the Bush Administration completely and without hesitation.
Anyone curious as to why race is still a factor in this country after all of these years since the Civil War? Generation after generation born without hate, have to be taught to hate, which is why we still see acts of hatred spewed with racism. Hating people because of the color of their skin. How stupid and ignorant is that in a country that wants to pride itself in education, and as a democracy. The color of one's skin was so important in many states at one time (1865) that they actually had a statute of what a white person was: "Not having any negro blood (Ark., Oklahoma); One having less than 1/8th of negro blood (Ala., Fla., Ga., Ind., Ky., Md., Minn., Miss., Mo., N.C., S.C., Tenn., Tex.,) One having less than a fourth (Mich., Neb., Ore., Va.,) One having less than one half, (Ohio)." Websters New International Dictionary Second Edition with Reference History.
I hate to bring up the past, however, it's because of the past that has not been faced by many in this country that we are still, today, having to put up with hate groups and a political party, the Bush GOP, that has a large membership of racists and they do not try to hide it. Grownups in our Congress acting like juvenile delinquents refusing to do their jobs, without any accountability for what they have done in the name of this country for the last eight years.
Following this Republican Party is the same as taking a road that leads to more of the same, debt, death, and destruction. Responsible leadership would have been to listen to the American people, and help form plans to bring this country back from the depths that the Bush GOP took us, that has left a nation in despair . . . but, they have, instead, turned their backs on this country again. The Bush GOP yell when they hear the word "taxes" and this country is in trouble due to the constant Bush GOP tax cuts for the wealthy of this country. How many American citizens realize that it takes money to make money and it takes money to keep from paying taxes? Those who identify with their money will never have enough, whether it be money or material goods and services, and they will never give a thought to the citizens of this country. We are beneath them. But they have taken the treasonous crimes out of the news. Whenever they (Bush GOP) are before a microphone, it's as if the last eight years never happened. We need to bring those crimes back to the present. That's the realty we Americans must face today. To shut up this Party of "No," we Americans must demand accountability. Let the Bush GOP concentrate on their participation in the crimes committed and they supported for the last eight years.
These are the same members in Congress who backed Bush number two 100% of the time. These are the same Republicans who are responsible for supporting the debt, death, and destruction in Iraq. Over 5,000 American lives and over a million Iraqi lives, plus the three to four million innocent people who left Iraq to live across the border, many living in tents. Bush bombed their medical services, their schools, neighborhoods . . . we read about children being killed while playing or while sleeping in the hot weather on their rooftops. And, for what? We were never attacked by Iraq, Afghanistan, or New Orleans.
Why should we Americans have to view Cheney's daughter in the news, what arrogance; as if her father has been exempted of all crimes committed while in the Bush Administration? The Bush GOP (Republican Party of today) is nothing more than a cult. Remember, Bush required one thing, and only one thing, and that was loyalty to the Party. They do nothing for the people in this country except to prevent President Obama and his administration from cleaning up their criminal mess.
Following the Bush GOP down this road are the Blue Dogs . . . political animals the Democrats should do without. They have hurt this party over and over again. They are bought by the corporations and they do not serve the best interests of us Americans. They are trying to say that their GOP constituents want them to vote against Obama's healthcare, but those people are being lied to by the GOP shock jocks on the air. If that's the case, isn't it the Blue Dogs' responsibility to tell their constituents the truth about the healthcare program? Actually, they don't care, do they? Don't they represent the corporations who put them into their jobs? Buying their loyalty? The Blue Dogs and the Bush GOP in Congress can't do government. They owe their souls to the company stores (corporations).
Why should big business that gets government money have less requirements than a poor person trying to get welfare benefits? Eh?
TARP watchdog says Treasury lacking bank data
By Silla Brush
The top watchdog over the financial bailout package said the Treasury Department is rejecting "common sense" by not requiring banks receiving billions of dollars in government money to say how they are using the money.
In a report to be released on Monday, Neil Barofsky said banks that have received money from the $700 billion bailout package passed last year are able to indicate how they are using taxpayer money and that Treasury should require banks to be more transparent.
What's troublesome in this country is how the wealthy are treated by U.S. government and the people, and how the poor are treated by U.S. government and some of the people? Disgusting!

Often, adults must meet certain work requirements in order to be eligible for welfare. The requirements may vary depending on the program and the state in which the individual is seeking aid. Generally, recipients are expected to seek employment and/or training. Some states provide work training and employment search programs geared specifically towards welfare recipients.
In certain circumstances, a recipient may be exempt from work requirements. For example, an individual in a single-parent household, with a child under 12 months old, may be temporarily excused from work requirements. Temporarily or permanently disabled recipients, as well as those enrolled in substance abuse programs, may be excused from work requirements as well. Additionally, individuals otherwise eligible for aid, but attending college, may be eligible for a work exemption for as long as they are attending school in a program that meets welfare requirements.
Depending on the welfare program, there may be special requirements for single and separated parents, their dependent children, and child support. Typically, recipients are required to seek child support and cooperate fully with welfare's child support and paternity requirements, including efforts to find an absent parent. Once child support is granted, welfare may intercept all or part of it to compensate for the fact that the individual is receiving assistance. Exemptions from child support cooperation are made for good cause, such as proven domestic violence situations.
These are comments made regarding the above and they think people should be punished for being poor and should have no life in this modern world at all. No joy, no happiness, and no future. What about the hard working people who pay for the handouts to the wealthy? Eh? Bonuses and all. Those bonuses alone could pay for many poor people's needs today.
would be willing to bet most people on here asking for welfare can afford the internet, cell phones and computers. But feel they are entitled to them. Then they ask hard working people to pay their way because they are too lazy to work.

38 It's getting to the point, everyone wants help but no one wants to work for it. What happened to morals? Get out and get a job and stop wanting everyone else to pay for your problems or mistakes.

Who is Eligible for Welfare in the United States?
Why are people so willing to overlook the wealthy who receive handouts from the government without any accountability expected, and criticize the poor? I will never forget Reagan and his mocking those poor welfare mothers trying to raise children on nothing as if welfare pays so much. Walk in those shoes and then do the talking, but we will never see that . . . it's called . . . earning the right.

While the Bush GOP are taking the high road, we Americans have come to a crossroad, and so far, we are taking the wrong road. We have to listen to a rogue political party while their leaders took this country on a road to hell without a word from any of them. What this country needs today is a road map, leading to justice. This country went years and years without justice for the racist past, and many deaths due to racism will never see that justice . . . why should we have to wait to see justice for the past eight years of crimes committed by the Bush Administration and their GOP cult followers?
Four hundred reasons not to wait. A list of 400 reasons to bring Bush/Cheney/Rove and others to account. The best and most thought provoking scandal sheet yet.

Without accountability, this nation will continue on a road to nowhere. We owe the world accountability for those crimes. Why should we Americans be expected to make sacrifices as well as those sacrifices made by future generations to pay for the debt, death, and destruction that was committed by the Bush regime and the Republican Congress without any accountability? Unthinkable. Two countries, a city, New Orleans, and our own military . . . yes, racism is still alive and well in this country, but, at least, we Americans are making it difficult for those who are racists. However, that doesn't solve the largest problems in U.S. government and those are that people in government do not fear accountability for their crimes or their public racist attitudes. In a democracy, the least we Americans should expect from those who do the work of the people would be the willingness to do the work that they get paid for and to obey U.S. law or fear responsibility . . . and to represent the people of this country as a democracy.

Racism is of course a large part of the reason the nation is in such poor shape, but it doesn't stop there. Any White person who doesn't have sufficient income might as well accept the fact that they are seen by certain wealthy groups as being as much a second-class person as any person of color - regardless of that person's wealth (this would especially apply to any professional athlete who can't claim Caucasian as ancestry) - because only money matters. Remember Bush crowing to his "base"? And, to these same groups, women of any color and wealth status are automatically second-class, if only to these self-proclaimed alpha males of affluence.
I can't explain why we allowed this to come about, except that we didn't recognize the power of the media as the evil people claimed it for their own. I don't know how we are going to reverse all the damage these foul fiends have perpetrated on this nation without destroying it. I suspect that the answer will arrive in the form of foreign ownership, which will put these greedheads into the same predicament they have assigned to us. Then we will see how smart these guys really are!
Thanks for putting my thoughts into words.
Why don't more denounce the Bush fiasco??
