The Bush GOP ... Demolishing Democracy One Freedom At A Time

BuzzFlash,
"Civilization: The lamb's skin in which barbarism masquerades." -- Thomas Bailey Aldrich
Another murder of an innocent fellow American by another American citizen under the influence, and I'm not talking about alcohol. There's more than one kind of pollution within our environment. As it's been said recently, children who grow up, leave home, and become great leaders or great criminals . . . they, as in we the people, are the products of our environment, not of our parents. So, what does this have to do with pollution?
The Bush GOP has been setting the scene or creating the environment for those Americans who are easily seduced into believing that the whole world is against them. (birthing hate) These types are not insane, they are, for the most part, probably found to be willfully ignorant mixed with a substantial amount of stubborn stupidity, where others think their religion is all that matters. Their world is a world that has no room for the rights or beliefs of others, who differ from them, which makes them easy targets for the "them vs us" straw man theories that Republican talking heads use to set up this environmental stage of influence.
A staged environment by persons who, in the eyes of many Americans, have a presence of power and prestige given to them by a driven TV and radio media and also because of their known high salaries, book deals, fame . . . they are respected for all of the wrong reasons, and they are protected, regardless of the violence they spew.
Whatever we hear from the Right Wing of the Republican Party, regardless of what they say or how they say it . . . it all comes under free speech. Yet, a group of concerned citizens who were merely trying to be heard by a Senate committee on health care and wanting to be included because the majority of Americans want "single payer" healthcare, were . . . ARRESTED! They didn't harm anyone. They didn't threaten anyone. Isn't it about time that the majority of Americans' needs are met by those who are supposed to work for the people, instead of just the few who live inside the beltway or those few who are being paid to spread propaganda through TV, radio, or books?
These talkers have used such idiotic lies as, "the government will take away their guns," which has increased the sales of guns and ammunition all across the country during the past few months . . . thus giving profits to those gun and ammunition corporations, that give large amounts of their profits to the Republican Party. One example of how these lies are spread is referred to as the "straw man fallacy." It begins with the Bush GOP in government or any one of their supporters (Gingrich or Fox News comes to mind) misrepresenting, for instance, a position of a person, most likely a Democrat, (lying about what that person believes or has said) making it appear more implausible, and then using an argument as though it were really the position of their opponent. This is done over and over by members of the Bush GOP who are constantly seen in the news . . . using Civil Rights for Civil Wrongs.
Wasn't there a decent time in this country when such a person could not get away with using the straw man approach, and the media had to have the opponent on too? This is one reason why, today, we have so many Americans who can't rely on the news for the truth, instead they are carriers of propaganda, a symptom of the disease that can kill the democratic life of this country.
The Bush GOP use our airwaves and our Bill of Rights as their free passageway into another violent, dictatorial government that previously went unopposed, first when the Supreme Court broke the law and put their own man into the White House and secondly, by most of our MSM during the illegal invasion/occupation of Iraq and the killings of thousands of innocent people by the Bush GOP administration in Afghanistan. But, they were, however, opposed by the majority of Americans, and those Americans brought us President Obama. Americans did not want any more years of debt, death, and destruction, which is what we have had every time a Republican was in the White House. Americans want "CHANGE."
Solar energy is not a new idea. Other energy for cars and planes is not a new idea. It should have been developed years ago. That kind of smarts would have insured that the US would always be a leader using science and common sense. But, it was always opposed and most of the budget of this country has always been given to the military. That's not a sign of peace and goodwill. Eight hundred bases around the world. What if that were Russia or China or some other country?
"If sunbeams were weapons of war, we would have had solar energy a long time ago." -- George Porter (1920 -) British chemist. The Observer, 'Sayings of the Week,' 26, Aug. 1973.
And, it's been said many times that the Republicans have nothing to say. Not quite accurate. They have nothing to say that makes sense. They have no idea or plan about how to bring this country back from the jaws of a nation-eating depression.
They helped to bring about the highest debt that this country has ever known and they profited from it. Profited from the deaths of innocent Americans and innocent citizens around the world. Profit they have been allowed to, so far, keep. No one who believes in a living, breathing democracy should be allowed to profit from the murders and torture of innocent people, and worse yet, be allowed to keep that money.
"What is objectionable, what is dangerous about extremists is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents." -- Robert Kennedy, The Pursuit of Justice: Extremism, Left and Right, 1964.
Another serious problem today is that we Americans are allowing our fundamental rights to be used to stimulate the minds of those whose emotions are easily aroused into violent behavior. And, we Americans are expected to give up our own rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and turn a blind eye, in order that those who stimulate such violence, who have no real concern about this country or the victims of such violence . . . are free to collect the almighty, high dollar they get paid to use whatever measures they can to split the citizenry of this country and pit American against American, without any fear of being found guilty for having instigated such violence.
The perverted irony is that James von Brunn, who willfully disbelieved in the Holocaust as a happening, used the same kind of hate and violence against an innocent fellow human being, Officer Johns, called the gentle giant, when being helped to enter the museum. Von Brunn killed a guard, a person who had done nothing to him, except to reach out to help him open the door as he entered the Holocaust Memorial Museum. The common bond, the epoxy that causes such terroristic criminal actions . . . hate, loathing, hostility against anything or anyone who is different, using indiscriminate violence. This 88 year old man, who was allowed to live out his life without harm, took the life of a young man just doing his job. This hate is not a disease or even a mental disorder. It is the same thinking, the same prejudices that took millions of lives from 1933-45.
What kind of freedom will we have in this country if this violence through the rhetoric and propaganda that is constantly found in the Right-Wing media and the Bush GOP is allowed to continue without any accountability? What about the freedom of those who do believe in this country and live by the rules of morality and common decency? What about all of the lives of every innocent person that was taken due to the lies by Bush and his cohorts in crime, his administration and supporters? These Right-Wing hate mongers are just following up what the Bush GOP has been doing for the last eight years. Promoting violence and taking the lives of innocent people using a dictatorial form of government that most of us Americans were aware of, and had to wonder why those in DC did not put up more of a fight.
We are talking about the rape and pillage of our Bill of Rights and of our Constitution that began, without accountability, years before the Supreme Court put Bush into the White House, when law and order ceased to exist for anyone who disagreed with the Bush GOP. Debt, death, and destruction is not just Iraq, Afghanistan, and New Orleans, it is the destruction of US government, our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.
If this country is to save itself, we need investigations and accountability regardless of where it will lead. Everyone who has lost their life due to the lies of the Bush GOP should not have died in vain, and they will not have died in vain if justice and accountability -- US law -- is brought into US government. It's been said before, until this country rids itself of the injustices and the laws by the Bush GOP for the last eight years, using terrorism, fear, and bin Laden as an excuse . . . bin Laden won. Hate won.
