Bush and His Minions Were Sharpshooting US Government Policies
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
Ask any American with an ounce of common sense and they will tell you what torture is and always has been in our laws and in the American mind. Why do we not do this . . . because such vicious acts as torture, imprisonment without counsel, invasion/occupation of a country, are all acts of terrorism and aggression and they breed the kind of hate that takes generations to change. And, who always suffers from such hate, the innocent citizens of every country that's being terrorized as well as those who are doing the terrorizing due to orders they must follow, such as our citizens serving in the US military, who were sent to invade and occupy Iraq.
We have enough hate and prejudices in the world brought about by religious fundamentalism, fanatics, stupidity, and ignorance that eventually results in what Bush did, because he fits most of that description, which was to drag this country into his fantasies of "Super-fly grandeur." Our US embassy in Iraq that cost the US billions of dollars is plenty of proof, unless you want to add to that, the fake trial of Saddam. Then there's the cash flow brought into Iraq in bricks (makes one think of drug deals), and we Americans have no idea how many people were killed or imprisoned on the mere say-so of an Iraqi, just for an American dollar that may have been needed due to loss of home, job, everything.
The policies gone awry by the Bush regime were known years ago and noted by many people in leading newspapers . . . yet, nothing was done by the Bush GOP to stop them, instead they supported Bush -- ALL Republicans -- 100% of the time.
"Who built the moral cesspool into which this nation has sunk with its secret prisons and secret prisoners, legalized torture, indefinite imprisonment without trial or counsel?" -- Floyd J. McKay, "Calling for Truth and Dignity in the Nation's Conduct," Seattle Times (November 16, 2005).
The nation was not "born" yesterday. The following word description was taken out of an old library dictionary, you remember, the ones with over 3,000 pages of our language in them? There's never been a question about torture:
Torture: "1) Act or process of inflicting severe pain, esp. as a punishment in order to extort confession, or in revenge; specific act of inflicting such pain under judicial or other authoritative order, as by water or fire, by the boot or thumbscrew, by the rack or wheel, etc. As a judicial procedure, torture, common among primitive people, survived in Europe until modern times, but is now obsolete in most civilized countries." Webster's New International Dictionary, Second Edition, 1948. [My emphasis]
Bush and his father, George H. W. Bush, have gone to great lengths to try and convince people in Texas that they are Texans. Bush got a ranch when he found out he was going to be placed into the White House, (cough) most likely. And, he even broke into a sweat and did photo ops cutting sage brush for those who thought that was news, and if a person actually knew the circumstances of how Bush was raised, with servants, money, sailing, golf, etc., (the American elite) all are such hard work . . . then I guess seeing Bush cut down brush would be news.
Bush used another strategy that can be found in Texas folklore. The story is about a Texas cowboy wannabe, who target shoots holes in the side of his barn and then draws bull's eyes around all of those holes. When we think about 911, being the first of Bush's bullet holes, because he refused to warn the airlines or the American people after months of warnings, yet, took it seriously enough to warn a few people, such as Ashcroft and Willie Brown, mayor of San Francisco at that time, who said he was warned not to fly commercial flights, and we know there was undoubtedly many more who were probably warned . . . then comes the bull's eye being drawn around that shot to prove that Afghanistan needed to be bombed, and Iraq must be attacked.
All during the eight years of the Bush regime, they would shoot at their target and then draw the bull's eye (fix the evidence) to justify taking the first shot. This was done over and over again using the word terrorism and fear when initiating everything from the PATRIOT Act (the very name insults me even today), to listening in on private phone calls, (and, I said at the time that, understanding Bush's brain and personality, he would only be interested in politicians, Republican and Democrats and it seems I was right) to outing a CIA agent, for revenge, who tracked terrorists, to deregulation and privatization until we find ourselves, the US, behind the target, with all of the holes that nearly killed us.
The Bush GOP throughout many years of appointments due to loyalty has hurt this country in so many ways that it will take years to find out what this country has done and who did it in our name. I have to ask myself over and over again . . . how could someone like Bush, who was known to find fun in blowing up frogs with firecrackers as a youth, (a giant clue to violence against human beings) to failing what was expected of him in school, to going AWOL while serving in military, to claiming to be a cured alcoholic when he never went through any counseling or rehab, to the dirty tricks and revenge that he was known for . . . and yet, our illustrious Supreme Court saw him fit to put into the White House, while they confessed of breaking US law -- just this once -- (cough) these are the people we depend on to interpret US law . . . that five should be made responsible for their actions. And, what about all of the judges that Bush appointed? Not to forget the 3,000 appointments he made in US government and are they still there, and are they doing their job for the US citizens or for the Bush GOP?
After all of this on the pretext of "not wanting to put the people through this." (accountability in US government since Nixon) We have put our military through hell, and many lost their lives unnecessarily as well as those serving in our National Guard, who should never have been sent to Iraq. However, Bush number one also used our National Guard in Iraq. Many died in their sleep due to the harsh environment and their age, and women were dying for fear of being raped for going to the latrine at night, refused the needed water in that environment and also died in their sleep while serving under the Bush regime.
Let us never forget . . . all of those needless deaths due to a treasonous Bush GOP regime. Fear of rape from our own troops and this was permitted? I think we Americans can handle justice, even though it will be a strange phenomenon to see, finally, in US government. (sarcastically) We'll somehow manage.
There are still those who do not believe in accountability in US government, mostly government and the Bush GOP, I would suspect. We have to wonder why, because if Nixon had been made accountable, then Reagan and Bush made accountable for the Iran Contra affair, we would be celebrating a golden age today instead of finding ourselves flat on our backs in debt, death, and destruction brought on by Bush GOP sharpshooters and their greed for more money and power through the use of fake targets with their war against the world and their legislative war against US citizens.
I want to be proud of this nation, and we can never raise our flag up high enough to instill faith in this country and to distill the hate brought about by this Bush GOP regime, until we have US law within our own government. As I repeat myself, I have always believed that those who serve the people, and who hold the power in this country, should be held to a much higher standard than even a common purse thief. And, we, to this date, still don't even have that. We have the targets and the real evidence . . . what more do we need? To start with, we need "special, outside investigations, by those who are not politically connected in any way."
