The Blue Dog -- A Republican's Best Friend
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
Don't misunderstand me, fellow Americans, I have always believed in a two-party system of checks and balances in government. Put the best minds together, BUT, that is not how US government has worked for over thirty years. It's been in print many times how Reagan was chosen by a small group in California, and, even though he has been treated like a hero, the downfall of US economics started then and continued when the Supreme Court broke the law and put their man, Bush, who was clearly incompetent and a loser, even at that time, into the White House. Bush number two and his followers ruled with a dictatorial system of government, until we Americans were no longer of any use to these people, and they sold us to China.
At a fish fry years ago, probably one of the most outspoken politicians running for a ticket said that he wanted to be in DC for the "connections." It's been the love of money, not brains, nor the love of country, that has been the ruling factor in US government for the last thirty years, and it would still be going on, except there's only so much pilfering any one group can do before the US hits bottom, and here we are today, on our knees, looking up at China, instead of digging down.
Take a look at a typical Blue Dog Democrat before they came out of the closet. Ralph Hall is a perfect example of a Blue Dog, and he is a cofounder. Representative Hall is also the oldest serving member of the House. He endorsed George Bush, and voted for three out of four articles of impeachment against President Clinton. Enough said?
All of these Blue Dogs love to tell anyone who would listen, how they put their people first (who do they mean?) and they just believe in being "conservative." A nasty word, that, since "conservative" has delivered the US with the highest debt in our history. These Blue Dogs formed their own club years ago, and today it is known as a coalition. Get that? A coalition is a group alliance, when they should be forming an alliance with the party whose name they carry, and not the party they usually vote with, and the same party that helps to put them into power and probably gives them money . . . that has to stop.
Truth be told, we Democrats have been bitten in the ass many times by these Republican Blue Dogs . . . these people are not Democrats. Why would any Democrat, any real Democrat, support the very criminal Bush GOP that has brought this country down in just eight years with their help, and join them in trying to see that the Democratic administration will fail? Why must we Democrats always have to clean up after these Republicans? People wonder why they don't come up with any ideas . . . running the US government was never their intention. Taking what they could get away with was.
Just try to imagine a Republican running for office in DC and telling the public that he is a liberal and progressive Republican. A sale? Not only no, but, hell, no. It would never happen. During the last thirty years, especially during the Clinton administration and the last eight years of this country's financial demise, the Bush GOP never failed to go with their party, regardless of what it was doing to this country. War around the world and a legislative war against American citizens. Isn't it odd, that the majority of those in US government fail to understand what the major asset of this country has been all of these years? The people! And, yet, we are now owned by China; better learn to speak Chinese, Americans.
I've always been amazed at the Democrats for not realizing that the Blue Dogs are the Republican Party's idea of controlling both parties in US government. A real Democrat would caucus, discuss and then, as in a Democratic way, which is what the Democratic Party is . . . go with the majority of their party for the good of this country. With Republicans, it's never been about the good of this country, or conservatism, it's always been about control.
A "real" Democrat would not place their most important votes with the same party that has taken the US down as a leader in the world, sold us all out to China, placed this country into two invasions/occupations with a total of dead fellow human beings somewhere around a million (The GOP military would never count bodies, and today Bush's most important objective, Iraq, he won't discuss or mention. How's that for respect?), including American military deaths and our own National Guard, and millions of lives ruined. And, with this country on our ass today, with jobs out of the country, and people going hungry, they are "proud" to vote in solidarity with the Bush GOP in Congress today?
We Americans are smarter than that. We know it takes more guts than glory to step into a coffin and try to raise the almost dead . . . our government. What we Americans need today is much more support, because we, like President Obama, understand that in order to get a near- dead object moving, ya gotta pump it with nourishment and it's gotta get moving. But, the Blue Dogs and the party they really support, the Bush GOP, do not care about that, they only care about showing off their power, their control. Americans take heed. As I've said before, Democrats need a purification, and Americans must start voting for themselves, and put an end to the seed of greed that just keeps growing and growing in DC.
It's years past the time for Democrats to get serious about who in the hell is in this party. You vote like a Bush GOP Republican, you run on that ticket. What we don't need in this country today, is a "dog eat dog" attitude by the very people who helped to bring the US, once a great and vibrant country -- and can be again -- down, with their greed for power and personal gain, and call it, of all things laughable, "conservative." Many of our Republican government officials should have gone to jail years ago for what they have done. How many American citizens can still hold a job after running their company into the ground? Only if you are a very large contributor to the political coffers.

While a few big firms, such as Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase, have curtailed their campaign giving, others are quietly doling out cash to select members of Congress, particularly those who serve on committees that oversee TARP. In recent filings with the Federal Election Commission, the political action committee for Bank of America (which got $15 billion in bailout money) sent out $24,500 in the first two months of 2009, including $1,500 to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and another $15,000 to members of the House and Senate banking panels. Citigroup ($25 billion) dished out $29,620, including $2,500 to House GOP Whip Eric Cantor, who also got $10,000 from UBS which, while not a TARP recipient, got $5 billion in bailout funds as an AIG "counterparty."
"This certainly appears to be a case of TARP funds being recycled into campaign contributions," says Brett Kappell, a D.C. lawyer who tracks donations. (A spokesman for Cantor did not respond to requests for comment. A spokeswoman for Hoyer said it's his "policy to accept legal contributions.")
You don't have to be a political analyst or a political animal to understand that the greed for more power and monetary gain in DC was never enough . . . that billions have not been enough, and that greed has been the driving force in US government for the last eight years. And, also the root of why there are so few prosecutions, as well as the problem that "everybody in DC is connected in some way."
There's no such thing as a conservative Democrat or a moderate Democrat when they vote for the "controlling Republicans." The worst joke on this nation today (and nobody is laughing) is that these Bush Republicans, including the Blue Dogs, call themselves "conservative," when we are facing the highest debt ever in US history. It's hard to understand how they can boast about themselves without choking, as they all possess the arrogance of the privileged, the elitists, who think in some psychotic way, that they actually deserve what they have pilfered out of this country.
The old saying, "It's a dog eat dog world," may be true for the Blue Dogs and the Bush GOP, but in a real Democrat's heart, the world belongs to all of us, and we want to make it a better world for all. The Democratic Party must come to the understanding of what the Blue Dogs have always been about, and that is the control of both political parties, and the Blue Dogs need the Democrats far more than the Democrats need them. Cut them loose.
When US law comes back into US government, with outside investigations of these past eight years, we Americans are going to find that that action alone will probably bring a silence over the Bush GOP, DC, and maybe with the Blue Dogs as well . . .
We hear people wondering why the Bush GOP are so noisy today, when they are guilty of supporting the downfall of this nation and are responsible for the problems in government, and refuse to try and help . . . the answer might be as simple as . . .
"Noise . . . Nowadays most men lead lives of noisy desperation." -- James Thurber, Further Fables of Our Time, 1956.
Desperation, that is what we are seeing today by the Bush GOP. A last gasp of breath. By making noise, and that's all it is, they think, maybe as Hitler's own party did (the ironies found in history) after W.W.I, that they will again be able to lead this country again, if the Democrats fail. I have to believe that the American people are smarter than that when this country is already responsible, due to the failures of Republicans and their friendly Blue Dogs, for the highest debt in US history, and the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of men, women and thousands upon thousands of untimely deaths of children around the world and many of those dead from our own country. Children who never got the chance to become adults, due to US government Republican policies.
That's what this nation should be blue about, and should mourn. The criminal action of the Bush GOP and their supporters who, so far, have gone without any real accountability. I see the Blue Dogs as a proper name. They are not the red-blooded Democratic Party, all-American types, at all . . . shown up by their own actions, they are cold and without feeling. Blue Dogs, Blue Bloods, Blue Nose . . . aren't they all the same?
You be the judge Americans. You've certainly earned the right . . .
"Greed . . . He hath eaten me out of house and home. -- William Shakespeare. (1564-1616) Henry V. Part Two."

Once the Truth About Blue Dogs Being Only PART of the Problem...
Talking About the Blue Dogs Without Talking About...
...the New Democratic Coalition and the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) is an effort to describe the problem for progressives in the Democratic Party without discussing two-thirds of the problem.
And that is not the only problem progressives have. The Progressive Caucus inside the Democratic Party is as disorganized as the Green Party, outside the Democratic Party. And then you have loose cannons like Ralph Nader using the mantra of "not a dimes worth of difference," to call attention to himself and slime all progressives inside the Democratic Party.
Let's face it, folks, Progressives are in the minority in this country, despite Michael Moore's claims to the contrary.
If we would accept this fact, we would be on the road to making a real impact on the political and financial processes that currently determine the course this nation takes.
If Progressives would accept our postion as a hated minority, then like another hated and marginalized minority, the GLBT community, we might become effective in bringing about the ascendancy of the issues progressives care about and could break the stranglehold corporations have by using the Blue Dogs, the New Democrats, the DLC, the Green Party, Ralph Nader, et. al., to keep us marginalized, hated, and disorganized.
Would That This Could Be So
When the law returns? That will be a cold day in Hades!
There hasn't been true law and order in this nation since JFK met his demise for daring to believe he was the president and had unfettered power to act. The military-industrial complex was going to go to war no matter what anyone said, and Kennedy was a roadblock on the highway to high profits and world domination. He had to go. Along with the loss of his life was the loss of the law, which never did truly investigate the facts of the conspiracy.
LBJ operated almost as if he were a unitary executive, and that became the goal for the GOP once Goldwater got trounced. We all remember Nixon's political demise. Reagan picked up where Nixon left off, and every president since - including Clinton - added to the destruction of the law of our land.
The Constitution has become a historical footnote, a quaint notion that the people have the right to rule themselves. Did the people not read Plato? Do they not know that the elites have every right to do as they wish and the rest of us can like it? We don't need the truth, for the elites believe - as the movie screamed - we "can't handle the truth". We should just know our places and remain in them.
The Truth: Blue Dogs are those who cannot commit to being Republicans, for they cannot see themselves as peers of such lofty eminences due to their low self esteem. They are little more than political power groupies sucking up to those they want to be like when they grow up - which will never happen.
Rigged game
The Blue Dogs represent the interests of the wealthy because, like the Republicans, they're funded by the wealthy through their corporations.
They're like insurance for the wealthy, so if the Democrats get into power, the Blue Dogs will still protect them. Watch as they derail Obama's plans.
You liberals are about to see why us Greens don't trust the corporate-funded Democrats to do what's right for the citizens of this country.
