By Hook or By Crook
MS SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
By hook or by crook sounds like a cliche, and it might be, but surprisingly, its history, coming from the "Oxford Dictionary of Word Histories" ... "suggests difficulty and intricate maneuvering."
And then there are some who think it could mean terrible penmanship, but they probably are supporters of the Bush GOP regime.
After thirty years of living under a government ruled by Bush Republicans, most of us Americans understand that "by hook or by crook" means whatever sticks to the political wall. Whatever lies people will believe. Whatever lies people "want" to believe. Whatever the crooks can get away with, and they always get away with plenty, stealing us blind, and then use theft again to get themselves bailed out ...
I don't think any American ever thought this country, under the leadership of the Bush GOP, could stoop so low as what has happened in recent weeks, when the poor and middle-class are sneered at after losing their homes, and told to go it on their own, and the wealthy, greedy in this country are bailed out of their financial woes without paying the price of even their bonuses.
Then we have to listen to the hypocrisy of the Bush GOP candidates, McCain and Palin, talk about socialism, when neither of them have earned the right. How many Republican members of US government made their millions from being in government, besides Bush and Cheney, and how many charge every living expense to the American taxpayer, besides Bush, Cheney, and Palin? Eh? They don't wear boots with straps in a Bush Republican government, they swipe them off the feet of every living and dead American citizen.
One of the latest hooks being used by the Bush GOP is the ACORN voter fraud hook. Can't they think of anything new? Every election, many of us Americans understand that we are going to keep hearing threats, accusations, lies, as well as the out and out thieving of votes ... but, what we are not going to hear from the Bush GOP candidates is anything remotely close to solving US economics, stopping the tax giveaways, how to take the wealthy off government welfare, bringing our troops home from Iraq, how to finally get out of Afghanistan, how to negotiate with all of the many different cultures around the world in a responsible manner, etc. How to lead!
What we Americans never hear or read about are the vast amounts of "election fraud," that have occurred in the past (without accountability) and we are being told that thousands of names have already been taken off voter rolls illegally, and we won't hear Republicans talking about those frauds because they do keep thousands of people from voting, and not to dismiss all of the GOP propaganda by phone, mail, and through e-mail. Corporations like the MSM love those Republican tax giveaways, too, so we don't get investigative reporting from too many of the big guy media. Remember, Republicans are always accusing the Democrats of doing what they themselves are doing behind the scenes, and it's not voter fraud that is going on, it's Bush GOP election fraud.

Fear is a constant hook by the Bush GOP, because fear has worked for them for years. Whatever works (sticks). They sold attacks on Afghanistan and a treasonous invasion of Iraq built on fighting terrorists and terrorism, words they have reduced to mean nothing more than the cry of "wolf." Whatever they are crying, we can be sure that some loyalist Bush GOP supporter somewhere is getting his/her pockets lined with taxpayer money.
McCain loves to talk about his time as a POW, talks about how he reveres our veterans, but when it comes to voting for them McCain votes with Bush, who uses our veterans as war fodder for personal gain. McCain and Bush talk about winning the Iraq invasion, which is an impossibility even the average American citizen would understand, and the same idea that was sold during the Vietnam war, that winning would somehow justify the deaths of our military. There is no justification for the deaths of our American military and National Guard, but "justice" for this illegal war of aggression by those who caused it, the Bush administration and their supporters, would at least show some respect for those who have died. Crime should not pay in US government.

We Americans should be more worried about the empty space that's apparently found in the Pentagon office meetings, or probably known as their dream team. These warriors should be the smallest item on US budget instead of the largest, if we are to be a peaceful nation, a healthy nation, a well-fed nation, we have to cut costs and this should be the first hatchet job to the US budget. Get rid of the debt, death, and destruction caused by these greedy Bush Republicans. We want our country back.

These candidates want the job, but they don't want to be questioned or qualified for the job. This is in direct relation to why our country is in such a mess today.

How the Bush GOP can soften people up before the election. Hmmm, let's think.
Anyone surprised to see the gas prices going down? Shouldn't those Americans, who doubted that the big oil companies were controlling the prices, be just a little suspicious? Especially, when we had a few spills before and after hurricane Ike.
Just wait until after the election, and we can watch the prices climb back up again. Think how many people lost their jobs, couldn't put food on the table, take vacations, and all sorts of other changes in their lifestyles, due to the high cost of gasoline.
Again, it was $20 a barrel before Bush invaded Iraq, and ran it up to over $100. Yes, we will eventually run out, and other resources should have been in play years ago, but the Bush GOP constantly fought it ... we Americans need leadership that looks to the future, our future, not theirs.

After years of criminal activity and those in US government who were never made accountable or held responsible, we hear the Bush GOP candidates going after the American people instead of the criminal Bush Republican Party that has brought this country down to our knees, and now, we are looking up at China with our hands out. The Bush Republican Party is responsible for the highest debt, death, and destruction that this country has ever known ... they couldn't win an election without stealing it. And, we would never have an election without Republican hypocrisy.
Hypocrisy: "A mouth that prays, a hand that kills." -- Arabian proverb.
What American with a clear mind wants any candidate in office whose only claim to that office is through insults, prejudices, lies, and stupid accusations of another candidate, and especially a candidate who is more qualified to make serious, death defying decisions than someone who just enjoys careless rants? If Palin, were really qualified, that's what she would be doing, selling herself ... but, this type of campaigning is insulting to us Americans, we really are smarter than that, even if Palin isn't.

Anyone who votes for this criminal Bush GOP regime again after 30 years of debt, death, and destruction ... that's what would be "un-American." They've done enough to the world and the people here at home, and then to listen to these stupid, ignorant, and vapid accusations in trying to sell oneself into a job that a few college students would be more qualified for than Palin.
How in the hell would she know what is American? She even uses her kids to sell herself. What irks me about this big guy media coverage in the US is that they don't mention the anti-American organization that Palin and her husband were associated with for years, The Alaska Independence Party, organized in 1970, that wanted to secede from this nation. Go home, Palin, just go home. When you think that these Bush supporters can't get any lower ... they somehow always manage.
We can't repeat this enough, if we Americans want to know what the Bush Republicans and their candidates are all about ... look into their background for what they are accusing the Democrats of doing. It's all about deception:
"Those who corrupt the public mind are just as evil as those who steal from the public purse. -- Adlai Stevenson, speech, Albuquerque, NM, 1952.
US government and US elections by hook or by crook ... their (Bush GOP) maneuvering was neither intricate nor difficult, with all of the 3,000 appointments. Their ethics or the lack of them have been showing for years. Bush has made his appointments and the only requirement was that of loyalty to the Bush GOP ... it's all out in the open, in books, magazines, everywhere but in a US court of law where it should be, and should have been long ago, starting with Nixon, and then with the Bush number one administration ...
The world has stood by and watched US government in horror, feeling hopeless, and now, they watch with a renewed hope, that after all of these years ... the Democrats and democracy will finally return to the US, and the death and destruction will cease. Their hope is hooked on Obama.
Let's not disappoint them, and show the world what is and is not American.

Shirley Smith
