MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
A journalist is a grumbler, a censurer, a giver of advice, a regent of sovereigns, a tutor of nations. Four hostile newspapers are more to be feared than a thousand bayonets. -- Napoleon.
We know that's true. We've had eight years of criminal and treasonous actions committed by this criminal Bush GOP regime, and the stories still are missing in the news; and now the praises of the McCain/Palin ticket carry on, even if they (MSM) don't know anything about Palin. Are they afraid to ask, afraid of what they might find out?
What is more surprising about the Bush GOP today, than the GOP MSM that refuses to ask the right questions or to investigate (once and for all, we Americans have always known that they are not liberal, never have been, and especially the right hand of the Bush GOP, Fox News) is that after eight years of driving this economy into a nose dive that has gone so deep, until digging our way to China has become a reality, it's surprising that the Bush GOP chose two people who sing the same songs and mimic the same losing pattern in their rhetoric used by the Bush GOP administration. However, notice that gas prices have come down a little, and Bush is taking a few troops out of Iraq, and will transfer more to Afghanistan in order to kill more people over there. We are a nation stained in the blood of the unarmed and innocent. Is it possible that they think these things are enough to soften people up for the polls? After all they have done to this country?
Here is what McCain says in a letter to his Republican supporters:
"The choice America will face in November is very clear. It will be a choice between one of the most liberal administrations in modern history or a Presidency dedicated to upholding the long-held conservative principles of limited government, strong national defense and individual freedom. You know where I stand -- it is a matter of public record." (snip) "Senator Obama will surrender to Al Qaeda in Iraq and withdraw our armed forces on an arbitrary timetable. I intend to win the war." (Snip) Senator Obama will increase the size of the federal government."
Pay attention to how McCain, like this criminal GOP, always uses the word "liberal." Why? Look it up, liberal stands for democracy, progressive, government for all, and they don't believe in a democracy. Ads on TV have shown pictures of Democrats and blaming them for Bush GOP policies. They do think that we Americans are stupid, don't they? Shouldn't a candidate for the highest office in this land at least know that 911 and the invasion into Iraq happened because of the Republicans in power, on their watch?
It's a well known fact today and we've all seen Bush laugh about looking for WMD in Iraq. First of all, it's not our job, the US, to invade other countries because they might have WMD. The US has the largest stash of WMD on this planet, and more than 700 military bases all over the world. Talk about military arrogance! And today, many countries want WMD because they fear the US. They feel threatened by the US after what this treasonous Bush GOP has done with US foreign policies. Can we blame them? No, but we should fear them. Under the Bush Republican leadership, we are in more danger than ever before. People hate all of us because of what they have done.
This was never a war, it was an invasion, and there never was any al Qaeda in Iraq. Judging from how Bush refused to go after bin Laden and al Qaeda, if they had been in Iraq, we wouldn't have invaded them. Iraq, today, is in a civil war that has nothing to do with al Qaeda and it's also a well known fact that Saddam and bin Laden (who's he?) were enemies. Never mind the three to four million people who have left their homes, their businesses, and fled due to this illegal and treasonous invasion into their country. The ignorance still found in this country is due mostly to US big guy media that refuses to print the truth, and print it often.
McCain talks about Obama increasing the size of the federal government. The only reason the Bush Republicans want small government is so that no one is watching when they pilfer and steal us blind. They don't believe in a democracy, a government of, by and for the people. The Bush GOP is known to be the most secret administration ever in the White House, and if asked for records or e-mails, they disappear, and no one is held accountable for that. This is the people's business and we have a right to know what's going on, and those in US government must answer to the same law that the rest of us Americans have to answer to.
Big government? Bush and his administration gave us Americans the largest debt ever in the history of this country. A debt that could have solved all of this country's aches and pains. A debt still that sits upon the graves of thousands. The last Reagan/Bush/Bush Republican administrations ran the debt up so high that when Clinton took office, his hands were tied and he couldn't do much for the people of this country, so he cut programs, many that helped the poor, and that pleased the hell out of those greedy Republicans. They didn't cut a dollar off of those who work for the government. Then we got NAFTA, and years of deregulation and privatization. This was a Republican majority in Congress. All they worried about was trying to impeach a Democratic president, and the time and money spent on such useless activity was never punished. If Bush number one had been forced to pay for his crimes, we wouldn't have had Bush number two.
Today, according to McCain, they want to act as if nothing was their idea, and it's all the Democrats' fault. Yes, the Democrats aren't without fault, their leadership, that is . . . for not upholding US law, and all of those Democrats who have voted in support of this criminal Bush GOP regime. If that were not the case, Bush and most of his administration would be facing impeachment and prosecution today. But, there's always tomorrow. These crimes aren't going away. We know that we can't expect justice from any Bush Republican.
McCain is a perfect example of what the idea of power can do. He doesn't know what he stands for, one day he's for Roe v. Wade, today he's against it. He was against the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill, and it has his name on it. He was for immigration reform, not against it. He was against Bush's tax cuts, now, he is for making them permanent and bigger. Of course, these are tax cuts that favor big money. McCain's for war, war, and more war, and regardless of what his lips say, he has voted against our vets numerous times. Just ask them. But, his joke about bomb, bomb, bomb Iran says it all. He couldn't care less about the lives of the Iranians or of the US military and National Guard. The Bush Republicans have always used our National Guard in their military actions. People into their fifties and sixties have died in Iraq.
That's why there was so much respect for General Eisenhower, he cared about the lives of the US military, I doubt he would ever have used our National Guard, and he warned this nation about a government ruled by the military. He was the last great Republican leader before their Party was taken over by this Bush criminal regime, starting with the Nixon administration. We need people who can identify with the majority of people in this country, not that elite one percent with their hands in our pockets. Today, these same Bush GOP are blaming the Iraqi people as the reason the US is still occupying their country, saying that the US can't leave until the Iraqi people can control their own country . . . which they were doing before the Bush GOP lied the US into invading their country.
On Democracy Now, they tell about one of Palin's government appointments, a member of her church in Alaska, who wants to make late-term abortion a felony. It's past the time for such hate-filled males to stay the hell out of women's lives, and out of all government. Palin was on video (shown on Democracy Now!) telling people (paraphrasing) that the invasion into Iraq was God's will. How many people notice that these fundamentalists always credit their slaughtering of principles and people as God's will, yet it's always the evil devil when people fight back. The truth is, it's neither.
Bush has said he talked to God. He and the Republicans who support him are responsible for over a million deaths of men, women, and children, and they put US military and National Guard (who are supposed to be ready for emergencies here at home) into harm's way by using them in this treasonous military occupation, and are responsible for several thousands deaths. Young men and women whose lives are gone, spent. These people laugh and joke and do nothing to stop the carnage.
Palin, during her speech, shot back because people don't happen to think that being mayor of a town of 6,000 people qualifies her for governor of a state of 600,000, much less as a vice president of this country . . . she's thinks it's funny, that we Americans don't understand what a tough job that is. Pride is okay as long as it doesn't become "Pampered vanity" (Joanna Baillie). However, an intelligent perspective or mindset would be superior to that in positions of power, something the Bush GOP didn't have, and still doesn't have. This from a woman who used to belong to a group, along with her husband, that wanted to secede from this nation, and today want to deny such actions. We've had thousands of Americans who have died for this country, giving everything they could give to save this country, and one thing for sure, that thought never entered their mind.
Alaska became a state in 1959, and has the third smallest population of the fifty states. Alaska was purchased from Russia in 1867. It's economy is based on fish, natural gas, timber, quartz, and according to the Oxford World Encyclopedia, 2001, also oil. It goes on to say that because of Alaska's strategic position and oil reserves, it was developed as a military area that is linked to the US by a 1500 mile long highway. That's something we have not heard much about, the military in Alaska.
Everything that Palin says and everything that McCain says explains who they are and why they fit in so well with the Bush GOP administration as team players, from how they think by putting themselves first, how they feel about money, how they love to drill for oil regardless of what our own scientists say, to the casualness in how they talk about the debt, death, and destruction in Iraq, not to mention Afghanistan, and still waiting for relief after three years, New Orleans. Palin, like Bush, wants to pin those crimes on God. That's another thing that we Americans should notice with these Bush Republicans, and that is, they never, ever want to take responsibility for their own actions. That is why accountability in US government is so important.
We have activist groups who care more about the state of Alaska than those who live there, as they try to save their animals and the last pristine forest and frontier from destruction. But, as long as they keep electing these members of the Bush GOP, they won't be happy until they have ruined it, habitat and all.
We Americans, the majority that is, are smarter than this. Whatever happened to the teaching of the sanctity of the life of all of God's creatures here on earth? Whatever happened to the idea that it's our duty in that, we should respect and protect that life, and try to leave this planet and our fellow human beings better off because of our having been here?
The GOP love to act tough and talk tough, but the real challenge in what a person is made of is not the ability to use their power to spy, threaten or fire workers, use police to arrest innocent people using their rights, invade and bomb people, killing and maiming them for greed, imprison and torture those who disagree. Intelligence and loyalty to US democracy in power works much differently. It works to solve world problems through ideas and negotiations, not create them. Problems such as lifting the poor out of poverty, protecting the middle classes, educating all minds, to ensure that all youths are given dreams, to enrich their lives and in return, the lives of their countrymen . . . the US is missing out when only the wealthy receive the best education. Brains cannot be bought, they are born indiscriminately.
We no longer are looked upon by the world as a nation that knows what the hell we are doing. It's not too late to change that . . . it's not too late to rebuild that trust around the world, but in order to do that, we Americans have to take charge of our own government again, and we have to bring justice and US law back into US government . . . and that means, this Bush GOP team of McCain and Palin have to sit this game out. Benched, or maybe reduced to sidelined cheerleaders. McCain is known to be a hothead, and the GOP refer to Palin as a hottie, that's what they think of her experience or lack of it . . . neither description belongs in the highest office of the US. We've had eight years of a temerarious presidency that has brought this country down on its knees.
"All wickedness is weakness." -- Milton.
This isn't a game, but with the constant use of tag lines by the Bush GOP, to the outside world, it must not seem that serious, unless they look at our dollar, our debt, and those daily deaths. It's very serious. Deadly serious. During the last thirty years of Republicans, this country has lost so much, we have to take our country back before our democracy is lost forever. That's the frightening truth facing every American today, and those watching us around the world.
If we Americans don't vote, we are giving our Bill of Rights, our Constitution and our country away to the highest bidder. We can't afford that. We can't afford even four more years of Republican rule, regardless of what they say. We know they lie. We have the debt, deaths, and destruction to prove it.

Americans are NOT "smarter than this"
