Pelosi Clearing the Table Again, or Just Slipping It Under the DLC Carpet?
MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
After Pelosi's intervention regarding the Bush impeachment . . . how can we be sure that Pelosi can be nonpartisan and not clear the crowded path for a frustrated Hillary Clinton? Could that be the last straw to be used in the Clinton camp? Do we really think that the Clinton campaign hadn't thought of who would be in position in the White House if the Bush/Cheney treasonous couple was to be impeached? Pelosi is the last person who should be trusted to intervene in anything favorable to democratic government.
So far, we have had intervention by the Supreme Court who put their boy in the White House, then we had intervention by Pelosi to keep their boy in the White House. Is there no one group in this US government who can support the majority of the American people when they make their voices heard?
Much of the debt, death, and destruction created by the Bush regime could have and would have been avoided had government, the supposed checks and balances, worked as they should have worked. The only thing Pelosi proved was that Democrats are weak when it comes to demanding accountability in US government.
President Clinton didn't want to seek accountability either, instead chose to kiss up to the Bush GOP, and got impeached for a stain on a blue dress that wasn't his. If Clinton had chosen the law and accountability instead of the path to do nothing, he, too, would have changed the history for the last eight years, and Hillary would have been talking about another person to send around the world with hubby as an ambassador instead of Bush number one.
No, what we need is change, and that includes government in DC, the checks and balances, the "you scratch my back and I'll rub yours approach," because they have become way out of balance and have been for decades, and who's paying the price . . . why are Americans still dying every day? Not because this country is being threatened by Saddam and the small country of Iraq. Something that has brought shame to this country . . . millions of people dead and displaced for nothing other than their oil, and if this hadn't happened, how many people think the price of oil would still be $130 a barrel today, when Saddam was willing to sell it for $20 a barrel?
Why are prices on everything going up? It's the Bush Republican government again, and again, and again. Before the Bush administration's crimes against humanity, their war against the world and the American people, we were due to a time of peace, and with the right changes (get rid of NAFTA) prosperity.
Many Americans still do not want to blame the corporatized Bush GOP administration, and the raw facts that these same Republicans don't believe in supporting US government by paying their fair share, instead they use government money as if they were on welfare. They don't believe in supporting the American workers by providing good paying jobs or jobs period. And, to find a Bush Republican who respects and supports the poor through good government . . . it would be easier to find a dodo. It's all about greed. Nothing patriotic or democratic about it.
When will Americans be totally fed up with Republicans who rape and pillage the citizens' federal government and the US treasury any which way they can, and when will the American people be fed up with anyone who supports such crimes against humanity? And, as we Americans have witnessed, the Bush Republican Party do this without fear of accountability, when the Democratic leadership would rather punish their own Party and members of government.
We need change and we need US law brought into US government, and change will not happen until that happens.
Even today, we can read in the news about the threats to arrest Rove . . . it's almost a decade past that time. For all of the criminal activity gone without punishment during the Bush administration . . . it's possible that they could fill a US prison.
Today, the US is hated around the world. A dollar not worth the paper it's printed on. China who owns US debt, and the constant report of the deaths of people in Afghanistan, American military and National Guard, Iraqis, and today, US citizens of New Orleans are still suffering from their losses, and our military has to fight for their own benefits . . . along with the fact that an uncaring Bush GOP administration who refuses to recognize what they have done to destroy US military, and all because of secrets and lies. This Bush GOP has used our military and when they come home dead or traumatized and are of no further use to them, they abandon them, discard them much in the same way they discard their own refuse . . . they pay other people to do it, while they give out constant accolades.
We Americans who want change don't want any more tables cleaned off. We need law and order brought back into our own government. We want our democracy back after thirty years of the Republican Party trying to dismantle it.
If we Americans want a government that truly reflects our morals and our needs . . . we can't go back, it's because of the past, and the blunders of that past which also went unaccountable . . . those are the reasons that we are where we are today. To repeat the past with those same decision makers . . . change would never happen.
The Bush GOP's debt, death, and destruction would continue and there would be no accountability. We desperately need a government that polices itself, not the world.

CHANGING OR HANGING OF THE GUARD?!
Please.
Princes do not kill princes.
Will Pelosi survive next Fall??
This Congress, under the leadership of Pelosi and Reid, have failed miserably in the duties given them by the voters in 2006.
We all seem to agree on that.
Be it the war, our economy or our foreign policy agenda- they've been pathetically weak and complicit in Bush's 'successes' of appealing to the CEO's, war mongers and hard liners brought in under the leads of the Clintons, Emanuel McCauliffe and Schumer.
Now comes a real test of who's who and what's what in determining how Congress runs once the nominee is decided on. And -Democrats here's your time to shine:
Today, in Dublin, in spite of the Bush Administration's secret threats to all would be signers, over 100 nations formed a new treaty banning the use of cluster bombs. Called the Cluster Munitions Treaty, it will do what in 2006 our Senate would not do, thanks to Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman joining with the entire Republican party -including McCain. (Obama voted against it along with the majority of the Democrats)
Only the US, Israel, Russia and China refused to sign.
But here's the dilemma: We supplied all of the cluster bombs to Israel. In the 2006 war with Lebanon, Israel dropped over 4,000,000 of those cluster bomblets over ALL of Lebanon - in violation of the very treaty between the US and Israel for the sale of those weapons.
The matter supposedly must go before Congress
In that 34 day long war, the Democrats remained dead silent -while the only person who spoke out against Bush and Rice holding everyone back wile Israel destroyed not just the Southern stronghold of Hizb'allah, but ALL of Lebanaon, was Chuck Hagel.
So, does anyone in this country, in our Congress, have the balls to hold Israel in violation of OUR laws??
Anyone?? Nancy?? Chairman Berman??
I didn't think so.
Nationalism is not terrorism. And an adversary is not an enemy.
