MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

BuzzFlash,

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi establishing a shadow presidency? What a joke. Nothing like advertising your own incompetency to the public. The worst thing about this WP report is that it is so ill informed. (cough and spit) Why would Pelosi try to establish another shadow presidency, when we've had a secret and shadowy one under the Bush/Cheney GOP for years, already?

What this country does need, however, is a real, honest, moral, and vibrantly, electrifyingly intelligent and democratically open presidency that has been elected, not selected for the GOP by a partisan Supreme Court, and a media that is also investigative instead of bland and belligerent when the American people send a strong message through US elections that we want our government back. We've had it!

The Washington Post editorial page today published a vicious editorial attacking Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), calling her "ludicrous" and describing her bipartisan trip to Syria as an "attempt to establish a shadow presidency."

Think Progress » Washington Post Misleads, Contradicts Own Reporting, To Attack Pelosi

How about a Republican shadowy government and a partisan shallow big guy media followed by six years of debt, death, and destruction caused by both? No new news and no secret there.

Thanks BuzzFlash,

Shirley Smith

Shadow Gov.

Corporate media and WaPo in particular can be fierce critics of government and even of themselves at times. This serves to create an illusion of objectivity for the literate masses. The semi-literate masses have such entertainments as FOX News and The Washington Times. In all cases, without exception, the meme in the message is that conservative governance is legitimate no matter how bad it is and that moderate governance is not, no matter how good it is (the United States has never had a liberal government). The real shadow government is the revolving door on K-Street between board room and back room that serves the powers of darkness in high places.
