Jon Stewart Again Nails FOX to a Cross of Lies

| Sean Hannity Apologizes to Jon | ||
He may come off as a modern day version of the mischievous, naughty Puck from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," but Jon Stewart is masterfully exposing FOX for the fraud that it is.
On Thursday, November 12, Stewart again used humor and facts to shoot a torpedo straight into the belly of FOX's increasingly shredded pretense of being "fair and balanced." In fact, Stewart claimed the real motto of FOX "News" should be: "We alter real life. You are sold a preconceived narrative."
I've written a series of blogs on Stewart's devastating exposure of FOX's "subtle altering of reality to sell a preconceived narrative."
In fact, in the November 12 segment that ends with Sean Hannity admitting that a report on a Michelle Bachmann Right Wing Nut Job/Corporate Sponsored Teabagger Rally used misleading footage to embellish the crowd size, in that segment Jon Stewart is shown increasingly distraught as he is forced to watch the entire alternative reality scare fest Hannity program before Sean gets to the acknowledgement that he was caught without an excuse creating a fiction.
But the narrative that FOX uses to alter reality has a goal: to bring down Obama, just as the right wing tried for nearly 8 years to bring down Bill Clinton. And no fact or real news will get in the way of Rupert Murdoch's goal.
In fact, a journalist who worked at Murdoch's money losing right-wing rag, the New York Post, in its D.C. Bureau has filed a lawsuit that -- among other charges -- accuses the Post's coverage of having as its goal to "destroy Obama." That was revealed shortly after Rupert Murdoch condoned Glenn Beck's accusation that Obama is a racist.
What's central to the importance of Stewart's continuing witty skewering of FOX is that Stewart is one of the few television personalities who has the influence to put FOX on the defensive.
Many sites and campaigns on the Internet have targeted FOX and the other right-wing media shills who use liberals and Democrats as scapegoats to protect those with wealth and power who are destroying the working and middle class in America. In fact, BuzzFlash has been moving along with its "Get America to Turn Off Fox Campaign." That's because we believe we must all take personal action and not just express disdain for FOX's propaganda techniques, which Stewart has so skillfully exposed.
The preconceived narrative of FOX is to preserve the power and wealth of greedy corporate barons such as Murdoch by creating an alternative fictional universe of liberals as evil.
We owe so much to Stewart for fearlessly -- and humorously -- tearing off the mask of "fair and balanced" from the FOX face and revealing the pit of lies that they broadcast as both opinion and "news."
But it isn't news; it's a Murdoch narrative around which fictional factoids are presented as news, and since so many Americans look to television as the source of news, FOX has held a dangerous power over American politics.
That must end before we can restore a civil society based on reality, not fear-inducing propaganda.

The REAL News
You can say over and over again that The Daily Show is NOT a real news cast but for me and millions of others IT IS! Tell me where else can you get the news that's right on target? Tell me where else you can get the news WITHOUT any spin? Tell me where else you can get the news and have someone back up what they say with video and dialog?
I'm waiting for the day that one of the news stations, not Faux News, asks Jon to be on their station to report REAL news!
Keep up the GREAT work Jon and we'll keep watching.
Peace to you and yours....
Even though The Daily Show isn't "news" per se...
...it's still a good source of information because it doesn't make much sense unless the viewer is keeping up with current events. If you don't know what's going on, it isn't funny. The people who watch Jon Stewart don't need the news; they already have it. What they need, and what they (and I) watch it for is to see Stewart and company hold the news' feet to the fire. While it also may be true that the Daily Show seems to go after the conservatives and right-wingers more often, that's probably because they are a bigger and easier target. Obama is far from being a sacred cow on the show, and while I pretty much support the President, I have to admit that when Obama gets zinged, he deserves it, even if it pains me to admit it. That's one of the many differences between cons and libs: we aren't afraid to tell the emperor when he's naked.
Trustworthy news sources

Jon Stewart remains, for me, one of the only truly reliable and trustworthy
sources of what's really going on in the world, along with Maddow......
Perhaps You Should Turn On Your Radio
You have Big Ed, Mike Malloy, Randi Rhodes, Thom Hartmann, and a whole lot more on the air telling it like it is. Of course the MSM is normally about as full of shit as a 6 ton Robin. There is a lot out there and if you would only listen you might learn a thing or two. I live in the South Pacific and not even in your country any longer, but I still get good news, and it isn't colored by Fux or any other MSM provider. KPTK Streams for me 24 X 7 and there is actual news there every half hour. KPOJ which is a Clear Channel Station has set themselves up sot that if you live outside the country you cannot listen to them... Hell of a way to get listeners if you ask me, Oh well, it may be the primary station for Thom Hartmann, but everything they carry there with the exception of early morning local show I get on KPTK in fact it is 10 in the morning here in Tahiti and I am listening to Big Ed Live....
Hang in there, we liberul cats gonna be sleepin on matresses made from the feathers of all the Chicken Hawks in the near future....
