Subject: Thank God
Thank God we have a start into having health care for all. A START!
No, I will not complain as I have seen and heard others who want it perfect or not at all. ARE THEY CRAZY??
We could not get a perfect bill with Blue Dogs who BTW we could do without. Come Primary I for one will not forget, and will not vote for any Blue Dog who did not vote for this bill. I am shy about anything Blue Dog now that I know they are republicans in Democratic clothing.
We have rabid republicans who are the devil we know! We were blindsided by Blue Dogs, who are a stab in the back, as well as any Democrat who, for any prideful reason say, this bill is not good enough for us, (We the People) and thought it courageous to vote NO! THAT WAS NOT COURAGE, that's what I call saving your behind in the states who will be voting for you. Not helping the poor and those who cannot get health care, and not supporting this bill for other reasons,is plain Bull and not fooling anybody. Also is spineless and lame. Be gone all naysayers!
Thank our President and our House speaker for the hard work they have done to get the vote of 220. This in itself was a miracle. Let us now see if Harry will be just as bold to get the bill passed in the Senate. Harry will not be forgiven if he cannot.
Again, thank God for those who voted for this bill, we the people are thankful we got anything at all.

Good for you, Nancy Pelosi! Our church (a conservative Baptist church with about 60% white membership) has been praying that all can have affordable health care. This is not single payer but at least it is a start.

Subject: Another Big Bank Bailout Proposed -- ain't spin great!
ANOTHER 37.5 BILLION DOLLAR BIG BANK BAILOUT PROPOSED! AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE…..
Read this article: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SavingandDebt/SaveMoney/juniors-first-paycheck-500-dollars-at-birth.aspx?GT1=33006
Then read some of the more than 900 comments under the article.
Every one of these comments is about babies or illegals or unwed mothers on welfare or lazy poor people who don’t deserve another handout or some other nonsense.
EVERY ONE OF THESE COMMENTS MISSES THE POINT OF THIS BILL!
This bill is NOT about babies. It’s NOT about poor people getting another handout. It’s NOT about illegals coming to this country to have their babies to get free money. It’s NOT about unwed mothers on welfare having more babies to get free money.
With this bill, our congress is proposing to give a $500 savings account to every baby born in the United States – in a bank – that can not be withdrawn until the child turns 18 years old.
It is estimated that these savings accounts will inject another 37.5 BILLION DOLLARS -– in addition to Bush’s 700+ BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT -– into the banking system within the next ten years -- again, AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE!
THIS BILL IS ABOUT BIG BANKS -– AND BANKERS -- GETTING ANOTHER 37.5 BILLION DOLLARS OF OUR TAXPAYER MONEY! -- EVERY 10 YEARS FROM NOW ON!

Subject: Health Care Reform
EVERYONE needs health care at some point in their life. Whether it is public and/or private health care, EVERYONE should have access without regard to income, age, race, preexisting condition or whatever. All those that die after the legislation Congress passes and Obama signs that were not covered and could have been saved for a short time [given we have not solved the aging problem] is the responsibility of those in Congress and Obama because they did not provide health care for EVERYONE.

Subject: Killing Us With Greed
Killing Us With Greed could become a regular feature on BuzzFlash. We need to counter the endless droning of Tax and Spend. Greed seems to be the one common denominator among the Republicans' bad decisions. It applies to environment, health care, war profiteering, the poor, the veterans, banking, manufacturing. You name it. Greed is always there. Followed by deception ... to mask the greed.

Subject: Implications Of This Jobless So-Called Economic Recovery
That upwards of 20% of the workforce will be permanently unemployed/ underemployed and, for lack of funds and the already tattered safety net will be completely discarded. What's more with so many homeless in our cities there'll be these nightly sweeps in which the hapless unfortunates who are picked up will be deposited in vast holding pens, where they'll be kept until they obtain housing, which will be nearly impossible, given the paucity of jobs. One way out for a "lucky" few will be to enlist in the army, but with overseas deployment in any of several permanent high casualty wars a certainty, only the most desperate of the desperate will sign up. The recession will continue, of course, and considering the well known increase in crime that accompanies recessions, prison construction will be the one high growth industry. As for human & civil rights, forget it, since only a police state will stand a chance at preventing the general unrest from boiling over into a revolutionary situation. Except chaos & anarchy will be on the popular agenda, not revolution, since time will have run out for a turnabout on account of perptual war + global warming + economic collapse = doomsday. And what about utopia? Next time, perhaps.

Call Senator Boxer
I don't know if you are aware of Sen Boxer heading the Ethics Committee. I heard someone on Thom Hartmann's show come up with a good idea and I wanted to pass this along.
Later today I am calling Sen. Boxer's office in D.C. and request that she charge lieberman of conflict of interest. Not only does he receive millions of dollars from the insurance companies for re-election, but his wife works for Wellpoint and receives a hefty salary. lieberman refusees to vote with his constituents' interest But only for his own. The majority of the people in Connecticut want the public option in the health care reform.
1-202-224-3121 for the switchboard, and ask for Sen. Boxer's office. All we can do is try.
