Subject: Cheney's little deferment, Liz lies.
The apple does not fall far from the tree!
While daddy sent our troops like lambs to the slaughter to his ego war, so goes Liz Cheney to lie for him and as we all know she was taught by the best of liars ever, her daddy. A daddy drunk with power!
How can this little girl live with herself if she had to accept the guilt of her father's lie that sent our troops to die, and then refuse to be there to honor them when they returned home to their families.
Cheney's motto must have been 'if you don't see them they where not there.' Also, this did not happen, and no one will remember who sent them or why they had to die!
While President Obama, by doing the loving thing as Commander in Chief and being there to honor those who died in the line of duty, is chastised. Can you believe it? Being honorable they, these troops, went, not knowing, it was on a Cheney power, ego trip. Baby Liz along with daddy have the shameful nerve to lie about President Obama's motive to be there when these heroes arrived home to their grieving loved ones. Why? Because the guilt would be so hard to bear for baby and daddy, and the truth does not permit them to live in peace with themselves. So lie they must to survive. Liz can't get her head around what? The truth??? I'll bet she can't!
Liz, daddy's little girl, who are we to judge you our your daddy, there is a higher authority that does have the power to do just that, and believe me there will be an atonement to be sure, because those who died for the daddy's big lie will not rest in peace till then. And all your lies will not do a darn thing to make daddy's sins go away.

Subject: Single Payer now...or costs will NOT go down
Without Single Payer, this plan still puts the insurance industry in the driver's seat. Forcing people to purchase insurance even if they cannot afford it will make costs go up and insurance industry service to the customer go down in quality. But which Congressman is getting the most money handed to him from the insurance industry?

Subject: Another Book Needed Quickly by David Plouffe
Hi BuzzFlash,
Now that David Plouffe has come out with a book titled 'The Audacity to Win', I will be most interested in his sequel book titled "The Audacity To Do What We Campaigned For."
I'm seeing too many concessions and things done of late, as if no new President had been elected - and Bush were still in the White House.
Afghanistan, Guantanamo, Insurance Companies writing the Health Care Legislation (reminds me of Cheney having the energy companies writing their "rules") etc.
It's time for President Obama to be the President that he campaigned to become.

Subject: It's Halloween and the Repubs Are Restless
It’s Halloween and the Repubs Are Restless
First we will deal with former South Carolina State Rep and current Assistant State Attorney General Roland Corning. I like to call this episode:
Did Corning Wear a Condom in the Cemetery?
Is South Carolina where right wing guys go to act out? I could do a whole thing on his name and how Corning isn’t supposed to over-heat even in a microwave, but this is just tooo funny.
At 3:15 pm, Monday, Columbia Police Officer Michael Wines pulled over a Ford Explorer that he had earlier observed pulling into a secluded portion of Elmwood Cemetery where complaints had been made about illegal activity with sex and drugs.
Corning identified himself as an assistant state attorney general, so Officer Wines called his wife, Megan, to verify Corning’s employment. You just can’t beat SC for inventive police procedure. It happens that Megan also works in the AG’s office. Megan called Dep. AG John McIntosh to and McIntosh then relayed the message to AG Henry McMaster. Corning was not charged with a crime, but within 2 hours he got canned by the AG.
Pay attention: Corning was first spotted in the secluded area known for "illegal activity." When Corning saw the patrol car and saw the officer walking their way, he "attempted to make a hasty retreat, spinning the tires in the driveway and accelerating rapidly." Evading the police isn’t "illegal activity" in South Carolina?
Before Officer Wines could get back to his cruiser, the Explorer was gone. Wines put out an APB and another officer stopped the Explorer a few blocks from the Cemetery. Corning and the unnamed 18 year old employee of the Platinum Plus Gentlemen’s Club gave "conflicting statements as to why they were at the location, and to their relationship." I don’t know exactly what was said, but maybe she said he was a customer and he said he was taking a deposition from a state’s witness regarding illegal activity in the cemetery.
The GOP has been historically tough on crime and morals in South Carolina, but since the Governor started hiking in the hills and ended up frolicking in Brazil things are been getting out of hand.
This explanation is right up there with the Governor’s hiking diddy.
"At that point I asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, which he stated no and gave consent to search," Wines wrote. The search revealed a sex enhancement drug and some sex toys. Corning is 66 so I guess maybe he needs help above and beyond the Viagra.
Corning said he had a prescription so the drug wasn’t “illegal activity” and he said “the other items were always in the car ‘just in case’”. “Just in case”, what, the Viagra doesn’t work or “just in case” he gets lucky at lunch and runs into an 18 year old stripper at lunch?
Columbia’s city manager for public safety was waiting to be briefed by Police Chief Tandy Carter and he says "If there is any hint of impropriety, there will be a full investigation". Mayor Bob Coble says, "I don't think the officer did anything wrong."
So, they are investigating the officer for calling his wife to get an okay from her boss the state AG about arresting a state official for evading arrest? He was caught with a stripper and sex toys, but those aren’t “illegal activities” and of course he lied about why he was with a stripper and sex toys.
Neither Corning, nor his companion, will be charged with anything. If he was doing nothing illegal then why was he fired? Corning is best known for his anti-abortion activities, so I guess Corning was wearing protection. Being anti-abortion doesn’t mean you are anti-prostitution or anti-sex toys.
Also this week in Oklahoma City there was an incident I call;
Don’t Do as he Does or as he Says
I love the title to the Oklahoman story because the only thing it says about Paul Blair is that he was a player at OSU and is an assistant coach. He also played for the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings, but he is also the rightest of the right wing anti-gay preachers in Oklahoma. He is pastor of the Fairview Baptist Church in OKC.
He is going ballistic since President Obama signed the Matthew Shepard bill because he says it is anti-Christian. “This is nothing more than open season on Christians”, Blair says forgetting that hating someone because of their religion has always been in the law. He admits to having nut-cases in his church and says that if one of them goes out and does harm to a homosexual and says it was because of one of his sermons he could get in trouble and it infringes on his rights of free speech. I just heard on this site that my State Rep. Steve Russell is going to try to make an end run for intolerance in the next session. He will be hearing from me.
http://www.okcfox.com/newsroom/top_stories/videos/kokh_vid_612.shtml
This week Blair is taking a new stand on free speech of a different kind. He is the assistant coach at Heritage Christian Academy and he got tossed out of a game for saying something inappropriate to an opposing player. What he said was not revealed, but they say he is “contrite”. I guess you can’t say that to a football player, unless he is gay.
Apparently, what you say to football players or at football games can influence kids in a negative way, however, what you say from a pulpit can never influence kids in a negative way. Don’t verbally abuse him because he was clipping or unnecessarily rough on your quarterback, verbally abuse him because he has a crush on your quarterback.
One should never say anything offensive to or about football players because those who observe this intolerance toward athletes might just go out and offend the senses of a linebacker or split-end. You wouldn’t want to incite a blitzing lineman to violence.

Subject: Health explotation industry
Why are we letting the corporate government congressional complex get away with the corporate health exploitation industries lies? There has never been a more blatant exposure of congressional government corruption and bribery from the lobbying industry. This is not democracy folks. This is purely government of the rich, by the rich and for the rich, period.
The only way to stop this is to criminalize corporate lobbying with prison sentences equal to murder. That is exactly what this is, murder of people for the enrichment of a very few people.
Joe Lieberman as well as the blue dog dems and republicants have the blood of countless innocent citizens on their hands. They have accepted corporate dollars in exchange for the murder of their own constituents. They should be in prison.
The real issue in this health care debate is the corruption of democracy by corporate lobbyist. Without them this whole health care debate would go away. We would automatically take care of each other like the brothers and sisters we really are just like all other civilized societies do.

Subject: date nights and halloween
Hi, Buzz!!
I think the flaps over Halloween and the President taking his wife out have the same source. A pastor who works with a group that advocates for separation of church and state (my mind falters; I can remember neither the man's name nor the correct name of the group. Getting old is a bitch...) put it rather well on Countdown last night (Friday). He said that fundamentalists just don't want anyone to have any fun.
Except for themselves, of course. I don't recall the rabid right wing having any problem with Mr. Bush spending so much time on vacation. Only the left objected to that, and it wasn't a matter of his having fun, but of his neglecting his duties to have fun. Taking one's wife out for dinner doesn't constitute dereliction of duty.
Of course, the right wing SAYS they object to the "waste" of taxpayers' money for motorcades and the like. But the Secret Service is going to be on him no matter what he does or where he goes, and I doubt very much that he could slip by them if he tried. But even if he could get out from under their surveillance, the right would go ballistic anyway ("He's dissing the Secret Service!" "How dare he expose himself to danger!" Never mind that most of the danger comes from rightwing nutcrackers like themselves). President Obama needs to realize that the right is going to trash him no matter what he does. I hope he'll find this liberating: If they're going to hate him no matter what, he may as well please himself and push his own (and our own) agenda forward.
And the whole Halloween thing is more of the same. Kids (and adults too - be honest here) might get to dress up in funny clothes and eat candy. In other words, have some fun.
That's what scares the right wing: Anyone who is capable of having fun is a threat to them. Fun-loving people are less likely to be taken in by wacko hysteria, whether religious, political, or the peculiar hybrid of religion and politics that we're plagued with these days. Fun-loving people, in other words, cannot be CONTROLLED by the nutcrackers. This is terrifying to them.
So I say to everyone this Halloween: Have some FUN. For your own and your country's sake, have some FUN!

Subject: Fake News & Information
It’s time that the so called professional news organizations, (Major Publications & Networks) get back to the basics of making sure that what’s put forth as truth, is backed up by facts.
Standing by an allowing false an outright lies, to be repeated as true is a sure way to under- -mine what’s left of the public trust that past generations of journalist fought so hard to achieve.
One resent example was the crowd estimates, from the September 12, 2009 march in Washington, D. C. the false numbers of people in attendance, by the end of the following week of constant drum beating, had risen from hundreds & hundreds of thousands, to close to 1.5 to 2 million.
To its credit, main line news organizations & publications did report, the true estimate of some where closer to 65 to 75 thousand and that was giving it some.
Yet it is at this point where the By-Line gives way to the Bottom-Line, using the excuse, dwindling advertising revenue, as reason to move on a few days after the event, saying they’ve counted the false claim and everyone is covered.
Well that’s not good enough; the time has come for honest journalist & editors, to get back to the nuts and bolts of being the true 4th branch of government.
It is time to turn the mirror around on the ownership and executives, of these dispensers of false information, wrapped in the guise of news organizations.
Freedom of speech is no excuse, for a spokes person or phony news organization, to get away with presenting as fact, something that is not true.
They need to be confronted, with as intense and persistent coverage as is being given to the false information, otherwise we are destined to repeat the past.
A perfect example of this was at the turn of the late 19th & early 20th century, when a man by the name of William Randolph Hearst, controlled a large swart of news publications across the country and was able to feed false information and half truths along with out right lies, onto the American public. The result was that we found ourselves going to war with other countries, some of which we would not of fought, if the truth had been told, sound familiar.

Subject: The Center Will Collapse Under Right Wing Pressure
"Based on?"
"What happened in Nazi Germany after the July '32 election, when the parties of the center agreed to Adolf Hitler's being appointed Chancellor."
"Will a victory by the far right Republican candidate in New York's 23rd congressional district election mark the beginning, perhaps, of history repeating itself?"
"Asuming the center collapse, that'll depend on whether progressives unite in the struggles for single payer, troops out now, doing something about global warming & nationalizing banks."
"If progressives don't unite?"
"The right-wing could take over our government, as per Nazi Germany, 1932-3."
"Whereas if progressives unite?"
"What chance right-wing hate and fear-mongering against a mass popular movemnet for peace, justice & equality."
"Except with their tea-baggers, birthers, anti-abortionists & religious fundamentalists, the right has its own mass movement."
"We progressives will prevail?"
"For what reason?"
"If we unite we'll outnumber them."

Subject: A Plan For Establishing Government Of, For & By The People
"Based on?"
"Our turning the 2010 election into a referendum on what sort of government, one that ignores the will of the people, thereby putting all life on earth at risk, or one that is prepared to do whatever it takes to turn things around?"
"Specifically?"
"Starting with the 2010 election campaign we only support those candiates for Congress who sign a pledge to support single payer, troops out now, getting serious about global warming and nationalizing banks."
"Why these issues?"
"With time running out on account of perpetual war + global warming + economic collapse = doomsday, if our government doesn't take on said challenges now, when & if our government does get around to them, it'll be too late."
"What about a candidate's party affiliation?"
"No matter so long as she or he signs the pledge."
"Pledge = referendum?"
"Exactly."
