Subject: Palin thinks Caroline Kennedy has gotten off easy.

"Gov. Sarah Palin believes Caroline Kennedy is getting softer press treatment in her pursuit of the NY Senate seat than Palin did as the GOP vice presidential nominee because of Kennedy's social class."

"I've been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope."

Talk about your pity parties and victimization, I think Sarah needs a little aid from Ann Coulter. I am sure there are people more qualified than Caroline for the job, but I have difficulty believing there is something we don't already know about Caroline, except maybe her panty size or where she got that walk. I don't think I have ever seen a less sexy walk than Caroline has.

Caroline needs a microscope? She has had one on her since she was in diapers. I am sure it was in the papers somewhere when Caroline got her first pimple. I am not sure there is room in my computer to list all the negative Kennedy stories.

The number of times her father's death has been on national TV is too many to count. The same is true of her Uncle's death an the other Uncles many unsavory moments and then there is all the stuff around her brother, her cousins and the entire clan. The first time I saw or heard anything at all about Sarah Palin was in August and she was running for VP. Nothing about she or her family was known outside of Alaska, but good Lord, there can't be a lot we don't know about Caroline. Her entire life has been in a goldfish bowl. The paparazzi has not been after her a lot because compared to the rest of the Kennedy's she is as boring as a screen door.

That doesn't mean I don't like her. I do like her very much because she has seemed to evade the Kennedy bad manners curse. I see no reason why she wouldn't make a fine Senator. Compared to Oklahoma's Senators, they are all fine senators.

Sarah, dear, it does have to do with class, and Caroline has it and you don't. It has nothing to do with money, she just has class. Not all Kennedys have class, some of them have less class than Larry Flynt. She isn't like her mother or her father. Well she sometimes dresses like her mother, but she walks like her father. She walks like she is wearing baseball cleats on concrete, even in a formal, but she still has class, and Sarah will never have that class.

Sarah has a colorful family, but she needs to catch up to the public grief that Caroline has endured with grace and class.

Suck it up, Sarah, Caroline has 50 years of microscope time to your 5 months and she didn't ask for it and you did.

jane hawes on ann coulter's right to free speech. Maybe it's time to fight back so these arrogant a##*^%$# can see what it is like to not have rights to free speech when you're not on the right. examples: old lady arrested for having a sign that said "mccain=bush, protesters arrested at both conventions, many people harrassed and arrested for wearing anti-war and anti bush t-shirts. we lost our right to free speech. why not turn it around. coulter, hannity, limpdi.., o'liely, the whole lot of them should be silenced for inciting violence. there is no uniting with this bunch and the fools who are misled by their outRIGHT lies. we are a divided nation and if we keep following the rules and they don't, we'll just keep losing. turn things around so they might get the picture and then, maybe then, they will start appreciating what freedom of speech is about.

is this free speech. if you don't like what we are doing in the ME and you speak your mind, we'll just take everything you own-GWB. http://www.buzzflash.net/story.php?id=85690

actually i love most everything you write. this ann coulter thing just upset me a little because we really don't have freedom of speech - the fascist right-wing repugs do. if you disagree with them they will just take everything and lock you up in one of the prisons that cheney is a big stockholder in and then probably torture you besides.

Subject: Zionists Must Return The Land They Have Stolen To Its Rightful Owners

"Why?"

"The Zionist state Israel has been built on land that the Zionists stole from its native people, the Palestinians."

"But since America's been built on land stolen from its own native people, the Indians, does that mean America should return said stolen land to the Indian people?"

"Too late for that."

"Based on?"

"What with the genocide of Native Americans, there being too few Indians left to take back their land."

"Then what's to stop Israel from wiping out the Palestinian people, such that, there won't be enough Palestinians left to take back their land?"

"Something that was missing during the genocide of native Americans."

"Which is?"

"Anti-colonialism."

"Anything else?"

"Solidarity in pursuit of justice."

Subject: Editor Mark Karlin's Comments on Gaza

Mark Karlin's comments attempt a fair recital of violence on either side.

But Hamas launches their piddling rocket fire to gain attention to the Israeli blockade of food, medicine, fuel, etc., into Gaza. This, by land, air, and sea. Palestinians dug tunnels to import the blockaded essentials. Israel bombed the tunnels. Said rockets were being transported through them, not food. Mass media, like Editor Karlin, seldom mention the punishing Israeli blockade. How long has it existed? A year? Hard to learn.

But we should have been forewarned of Karlin's comments. He called the current Israeli invasion an incursion. Forgot if he called their invasion of Lebanon also an incursion.

Hi, New here, checking to see if anyone has been able to verify that the mailing address for the Tom Tamm Defense Fund is legit? Also, whether anyone has found a way to donate on-line instead of by snail mail? I would like to donate as well as to spread the word, but I can't seem to verify this. Thanks.

Subject: BART Police Shooting

Not sure if you guys have been following this story but it is turning out to be Rodney King 2.0 here in The Bay Area. Several riders videotaped a BART cop detaining a rider at the Fruitvale station on New Years Day and eventually shooting the rider in the back while handcuffed; Greek riots ring a bell? Yesterday was the funeral for Oscar Grant and a peaceful protest turned into a near riot in the streets of Oakland. The officer resigned yesterday and BART, the DA nor the State has made a single comment on the murder. Thinsg are heating up here and it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Subject: Ultimate Insult

Now that we know the "no room at the inn" Blair House truth has come forth, this turns out to be the most identifying moment of GW Bush. We have so many identifiers on Bush, this one may escape the message of his true and inner self. This was the ultimate insult to the Obamas. It was an in-your-face parting shot from a person who has the mentality of a juvenile delinquent.

The Clintons were eloquent in their transition by comparison. And look how the juvenile delinquent showed his appreciation: He and his cronies accused the Clintons of trashing and stealing from the White House (later proven to be false.) Refusing to admit the Obamas to Blair House prior to the inauguration said that every negative thing you have ever read or heard about Bush is absolutely true. Add to that the photo-op of all living presidents and watching the antics of Bush also defined him. He displayed that slimy grin while continuously looking in the opposite direction of the others. Seeing his parting shots reminds me of a statement my Irish grandmother frequently used when witnessing injustices in the world: "Hell must be a mighty big place!"

Subject: WHAT'S A JEW

I am still unsure what a jew really is. Is it a religion? A nationality? Sammy Davis Jr. was a jew. I think he was born here in the good ol' U.S. Barbara Streisand is a jew, but seems to be very liberal anti-war. Richard Dreyfuss seems to be for our personal rights and wanted to impeach W.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Dreyfuss

Feingold is one of our finest. Paul Wellstone was called the most liberal member of the senate before he was...died.

http://www.wanttoknow.info/wellstonecarnahan

And then we have the more prone to go war jews. Kissenger#1 and most of that group called "The Project For A New American Century".

http://www.newamericancentury.org/whatsnew.htm

Wow, there still at it. I would have thought they would have disbanded and denied any relation to this group of warmongers by now. Pearle, Libby (LIEbowitz, not kidding you) Wolfie, Kristol Ball, etc.,etc., These were the "we need a new Pearl Harbor" crowd. There was the Mossad or whatever bunch after 9/11:

http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/fiveisraelis.html

So, what am I getting at here? I guess whatever they are, just like blacks or whites or Christians or Muslims (Mohamed Ali did more to promote PEACE than any pres) or Chinese or Iraqis or Iranians or Afganistans or -- you get the picture I hope. They are just people to be judged individually, not as a group. Get this anti-semitism out of the ballgame; just because someone calls Kissenger a war criminal, or Libby a traitor for outing a CIA agent or Israel for attacking defenseless OCCUPIED TERRITORIES. I wonder why they are called OCCUPIED?

Occupied territories Main articles: Israeli-occupied territories and Political status of the West Bank and Gaza Strip Map of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, 2007

The Israeli-occupied territories are the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. They are areas Israel captured from Jordan, and Syria during the Six-Day War. The term was also used to describe the Sinai Peninsula, which was returned to Egypt as part of the 1979 Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty.

The term of 'Israeli-occupied territories' was also used to encompass the Gaza strip which was occupied by Egypt and captured by Israel in 1967. In 2005, Israel removed all of its residents and forces in the Gaza Strip and four settlements in the West Bank as part of its unilateral disengagement plan. Israel still controls Gaza's airspace and sea access. Israel also regulates Gaza's travel and trade with the rest of the world.[133] Inner control of the area is in the hands of the Hamas government.

Following Israel's capture of these territories, settlements consisting of Israeli citizens were established within each of them. Israel has applied civilian law to the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, incorporating them into its territory and offering their inhabitants Israeli citizenship. In contrast, the West Bank has remained under military occupation, and is widely seen – by Israel, the Palestinians, and the international community alike – as the site of a future Palestinian state. Most negotiations relating to the territories have been on the basis of United Nations Security Council Resolution 242, which calls on Israel to withdraw from occupied territories in return for normalization of relations with Arab states, a principle known as "Land for peace".[134][135][136]

The West Bank has a population consisting primarily of Arab Palestinians, including historic residents of the territories and refugees of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.[137] From their occupation in 1967 until 1993, the Palestinians living in these territories were under Israeli military administration. Since the Israel-PLO letters of recognition, most of the Palestinian population and cities have been under the internal jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority, and only partial Israeli military control, although Israel has on several occasions redeployed its troops and reinstated full military administration during periods of unrest. In response to increasing attacks as part of the Second Intifada, the Israeli government started to construct the Israeli West Bank barrier which opponents note is partially built within the West Bank.[139]

Rove on Bush for Historians: He’s Phony

“He plays up being a good ol’ boy from Midland, Texas, but he was a history major at Yale and graduated from Harvard Business School. You don’t make it through either unless you are a reader.”

Rove went on to detail that Bush read 186 books since the beginning of 2006.

Am I the only one who’s skeptical? When did Bush have the time to run the country? Wait, don’t answer that.

So for the remainder of Bush’s life, he’ll need to demonstrate some knowledge of the content of those 186 books in order to credibly maintain this assertion? Interesting.

I’m trying to understand how this “revelation” helps Rove’s or Bush’s credibility at this most unhappy juncture for both. Let me understand this: the man in charge of Bush’s image for most of his presidency waits until the last minute— when it might be important for historical consideration, of course — to reveal to the American people that the president is an avid reader? Is that a secret any sane person would keep? So Bush was essentially propagating a false image of himself as a good ol’ boy who reviles books for 8 long years?

Let me ask, if someone is that adept at projecting a false image of their personality over the course of 8 years while under intense scrutiny, how difficult would it be to pull off other major acts of deception? Wait, don’t answer that.

I’m not so sure I find this “well-versed and fully-mindful without you knowing” thing so reassuring, and I don’t think future historians will either. Bush as diabolical rather than bumbling in his (yes, irrefutable) failings? Most accomplished con-man ever?

To me this all seems like one friend donating another about 20 points of IQ score . . . like under emergency basis or something. Rove’s remaining kidney will now have to work all the harder.

Frankly I would have stood pat with “plain incompetent” good ol’ boy from Midland, Texas, not that I’m telling Rove how to do his job or anything.

Subject: Clinton People in the Obama Administration

Hi Buzz & Friends,

What is it with these people who are so upset about Clinton people in President Obama's cabinet? Didn't we have eight years of prosperity and peace thanks to President Clinton and the talented people in his administration? I don't want fewer Clinton people - I want more of them. President Obama has selected some of the best talent available to serve in his administration. People with demonstrated talent and expertise. It's what gives me hope that we can work our way out of the mess that the republi-cons have created.

I'll say right out and forever that I love President Clinton, respect him, admire him and would vote for him again for any post in government whatsoever. These have got to be the same flippantly opinionated numb-nuts that have supported letting the auto companies go bankrupt, but were totally quiet about the 700 billion dollar giveaway to TB2F banks. Bill Clinton left us with a budget surplus on top of everything else. It was his decision to bailout Mexico when all the lame-brained republicans were predicting that we would never get our money back - which we did, ahead of schedule and with interest.

President Carter is also one of my favorites - he was just ahead of his time. He told us what the problem was - we just didn't want to hear it. Now we're facing the consequences. Most of all he was and is an honorable man, a good Christian and a man dedicated to public service.

Both Clinton and Carter were not just good Presidents, they've both dedicated themselves to good causes since leaving office. What is it about prosperity that gets so many people upset? If they didn't like Clinton they're going to really hate President Obama. Go post your garbage on some republi-con website.

God Bless Presidents Obama, Clinton and Carter and their wonderful families!

Subject: White House China

The White House press secretary states "There is no time like the present" when asked why Laura Bush used up the fund to purchase State Dinner China for the White House. From keeping the Obama's from Blair House to replacing the china two weeks before they move out, I have had it with the Bushes. Knowing that the Bush victory tour to rewrite history is a smashing failure, they resort to petty "Barbara Bush" type insults. Michelle Obama has had to put up with enough, I am mad enough to spit nails. Our new First Lady should have had the choice of the china for their state dinners.
