Subject: Col. Hunt, Fox News Military Analyst's rant on Bush Inc's Failures

You gotta admire this guy's energetic style. Not many Fox people can actually speak the truth, clearly, loudly.

America Could Have Killed Usama bin Laden — But Didn't--Fox News

But Col Hunt! Why would they kill OSB! He's the Candy Store! The Boogie Man under the blanket. Anytime the US population's level of fear starts to wane, pull him out, hold him up, shake him at them, make scary noises. Gimme another unregulated $200B to funnel into the pockets of the "war" profiteers, or little Tommy and Cindy might get it, see??

What would Bush have without without his prop, his partner in crime in this phony "terror" war?

Staph infection, global warming, our medical system, our gun culture, our Big Pharm over-medicated population, our crumbling infastructure and schools, our rickety economy and artifically shored up dollar, dirty food, air, and water ... all, and more, are infinitely more dangerous.

Can't pay attention to that. Because the oil/war industry folks in office are making mega-$$$$, Son. Grabe a clue. Get with the program. But nice try.

OSAMA BIN LADEN!! BOO!!!!

Subject: The Loons Getting Loonier

Dear BuzzFlash:

I didn't see Gene Lyons' usual Wednesday column on the website, but I subscribe to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and read it this morning. Lyons, who is the only reason I read the Democrat-Gazette, which is anything but Democratic most of the time, succinctly pointed out just how loony the right-wing spin meisters have become, not to mention the politicians, which is quite a feat considering their already impressive backlog of mental dementia.

Without stealing Mr. Lyons' thunder, I have noticed other signs of lunacy lately that reek of desperation on the Republican's part. Although it's been a while, Sen. Sam Brownback, now out of the race for President, is on record as stating that poor disadvantaged Americans are where they are because of their faulty spiritual lives. Wow. For your information, Senator Brownback, and your equally nutty followers, it is not your place to judge. Jesus never advocated your brand of Christianity, and if Hell awaits for those who use His name for the horrible things going on in this country, you'll be guaranteed a seat. You can fool a gullible fundamentalist, but you won't fool the Almighty. Your hatred of the poor and loathing of those who are less fortunate and rich than yourself is glaring.

Rush Limbaugh trashed the 12 year old boy who suffered brain damage and spoke for the Democratic response to the President's weekly radio address explaining why he opposed insuring millions of kids. Fiscal responsibility? Since when does W. know anything about that? And as for Limbaugh, attacking that boy showed us who the really brain damaged nut is: It's you, you fat mouthed coward, and your legion of gullible idiot ditto heads who lap up your crap and call it a steak.

Then, W. himself expresses concern over Turkey's invasion of northern Kurdish controlled Iraq, saying that this activity would create an unstable situation. As opposed to what? Baghdad? What do you call the situation in Iraq now? Isn't that like saying dragging a giant bulldozer through North Dakota would be unacceptable because it would make the state flat?

Yes, Mr. Lyons, the right is off its collective trolley, but the Democrats are too spineless to push the damn thing over. What a sorry country we've allowed ourselves to become.

Subject: Eleanor Roosevelt Wannabes

Eleanor Roosevelt was the first "active" first lady. She was the first president's wife to go out and accomplish things on her own, and she was good at it. She single-handedly changed the role of first ladies. And ever since then, other presidents' wives have been trying to emulate her, with mixed results.

Laura Bush's current breast cancer campaign is a blatant, and very poor, example of another woman trying to be the next Eleanor Roosevelt. Does anybody really believe this stupid b**** really gives a damn about breast cancer or any of her many other so-called causes? Hell, no. Laura Bush is not fooling anybody with this act. She is just hoping people will compare her with Mrs. Roosevelt.

Sorry, Pickles. It's not working. You are as big of a failure as your incompetent husband is. You're no Eleanor and he's no F.D.R.

Subject: Judge Southwick

I see where 8 Democrats joined Sen. Dianne Feinstein in voting to confirm Judge Leslie Southwick! I want to thank them for verifying my current belief that there's not a dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats! The noose hangings and problems that are occurring in Jena, La. and other small southern towns are a result of the racist/conservative judges that the Bushes and Reagan have placed in office. White robed Klan members feel that it's perfectly okay to do their dirt. After all their friends in the black robes will uphold their wrong doings. Stick a fork in me....I am "done" with the Democrats.

Subject: This Is What A Real Christian Sounds Like

I have long been a fan of Father Andrew Greeley. I have all his books and read and re-read them. His columns are also a favorite. While I am no longer a member of the Catholic Church, I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for Father Greeley.

The hate-filled, war-mongering, homophobic, racist, sexist pinheads masquerading as Christians need to take a good close look at Father Andrew Greeley and observe a real Christian. But because he isn't blathering some hate-filled mantra filled with hating someone for something, his words will be dismissed. Many Evangelical Christians just don't seem to have much Christianity in their narrow little souls anymore. Father Greeley does.

Subject: Pete Stark Wins the BuzzFlash Wings of Justice Award for Speaking Truth to Power. Nancy Pelosi Doesn't Have the Courage or Spine to Support Our Troops by Standing Strong Against the Iraq War, By Fighting Illegal Wiretapping and Telecom Amnesty Tooth and Nail, and By Aggressively Holding Bush and Cheney Accountable for Their Illegal Behavior. But She Did Have the "Courage" to Force a Member of Her Own Party to Apologize for Telling the Truth. Shameful, Ms. Pelosi, Just Shameful.

My younger brother has always been a hard-core Republican businessman. However, he told me at lunch several months ago that he hated Bush so much that he voted an all-Democratic ticket both in 2004 and 2006 in the expectation (not hope) that they would impeach Bush. However, when Pelosi seriously took impeachment "off the table," he said he never would vote Democratic again.

My brother's story of a disillusioned Republican who becomes more disillusioned voting Democratic demonstrates that it is imperative that Pelosi and Reid resign ASAP or be removed in bloody primaries. Their repeated cowardice and resulting public embarassments as "leaders" have weakened and continue to seriously weaken the Democratic Party as much as any self-destruction has in the trecherous opposition party. The Stark episode of forcing an apology for telling the truth is worse than shameful. It's the latest dastardly outrage by dangerous "leadership" and cannot go unpunished.

Subject: Huckabee Obviously Flunked 'Murican Historee'

Sad, but true. At the GOP debate the other night, Mike Huckabee made an odd claim.

"When our founding fathers put their signatures on the Declaration of Independence, those 56 brave people, most of whom, by the way, were clergymen, they said that we have certain inalienable rights given to us by our creator."

"Most" of the signers were clergy? Is that true? Actually, no.

Only one of the 56 was an active clergyman, and that was John Witherspoon. Witherspoon was a Presbyterian minister and president of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University). A few more of the signers were former clergymen, though it's a little unclear just how many. ... We'd like to give Huckabee every benefit of the doubt, but even if you consider former clergymen among the signers, the best you could come up with is four. Out of 56. That's not "most," that's Pants-on-Fire wrong.

It's funny 'cause he thinks it is true (politifact.com)

It's a common problem at the Republican debates - why let facts get in the way of a perfectly good soundbite?

Subject: Mutt Romney's "Mistake"

Buzz,

I came across the following on C&L:

Mitt Romney Mistakenly Refers To Osama Bin Laden as Barack Obama

Orwellian tactics, stupidity and/or ignorance: pick one. Either way, this guy is not qualified to serve as president. Dean was demonized for one enthusiastic scream. I mean, the MSM was all over it. (Given their IQ, I doubt they are qualified to cover anything more. The Anna Nicole Smith case proved it.) Now, where is the coverage regarding this statement? So much for the liberal bias in the media!!

Subject: Call the Minority Bluff on Blocking Important Legislation

Hello, Senators, Speaker Pelosi and Representative Inslee.

I see that the Senate lacked four votes of avoiding a filibuster on the restoration of Habeas Corpus (which has been the keystone of justice since Magna Carta), and a return to the rule of law for improperly held prisoners. This pattern of avoiding a vote on matters of great importance to the restoration of morality and justice must be ended. On matters as important as these, ending the criminality of our country's behavior and restoring our honor, this practice needs to be met head on.

Bring this matter to the floor and do not move from it until debate has been exhausted, and the moral bankruptcy of the opponents is made abundantly clear. This may seem like trench warfare, but it certainly beats curling up like dead spiders and using the excuse of minority blockage to abandon principles. If this craven behavior continues, your party will lose big time in 2008, and it will deserve to lose.

Subject: Neopublicon/Dino Apologists

C-Span 3: Condasleeza Rice is testifying in front of a House Sub-committee regarding corruption in Iraq.

Needless to say s/he is facing some very tough and blunt questions from some of the Democratic members. She is doing her usual job of tapdancing around answering the questions or just plain not answering the questions at all.

Yet again, one of the Neopublicon (Rep. Duncan -- never heard of him before) reps is now apologizing to her because she has been asked some tough questions. This yahoo goes on to say that the anti people are doing nothing more than hurting their "cause" by being so grouchy and mean to her.

Why don't they have one of the Capitol Police read her the Miranda Warning before she testifies? Isn't she being paid to answer the tough questions? If she can't take the heat then she should get out of the kitchen. If she can't play with the big dogs she should stay on the porch.

I am so sick and tired of these Neopublicon and DINO apologists making excuses and apologies that NO ONE, repeat NO ONE in this administration deserves. When I screw up, I'm "man" enough to take responsibility for what I have done or said that is wrong. I'm not paid for it -- it's just a matter of personal honor and integrity.

Why shouldn't the administration face tough questions? The buck stops with them. Oh, that's right -- they want to lie, cheat and steal to get whatever they want in spite of what anyone else thinks or wants. So, SCREW them. Blame anyone or anything else -- but don't blame me.

This really is the worst administration in my lifetime. I never thought I would live to see the day when I was ashamed of my country and what it has become -- the Unglued States of Amerika led by the Little Brat Who Would be Dictator.

No respect for these people. There's a saying: You can't demand respect, you have to command it. In other words, either you have it or you don't. These idiots need to comprehend that over 70% of their citizens don't respect them, don't believe them, and don't trust them.

Only delusional fools would continue to support an administration that has failed to win the "hearts and souls" of its own countrypeople.

P.S. Why do so many NE federal reps have whiny squeaky voices? To wit: Lieberman, Collins, and Shays -- just noticed that. Are they triplets who were separated at birth or sumthin'?

Subject: Will Ron Paul run as an independent and split the GOP vote?

During an MSNBC interview Wednesday, Rep. Ron Paul was asked if he would run for president as a third-party candidate. Paul replied, "No, I don't plan to run in a third party. That's not my goal. But if we have a candidate that loves the war and loves the neocon position of promoting --" Interviewer Norah O'Donnell cut Paul off at that point, and did not return to the topic during the rest of the interview.
