Michele Bachmann claims she isn't trying to be inflammatory, so she clearly wins the GOP Hypocrite of the Week

Michele Bachmann
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
When we last honored Michele Bachmann with this dubious achievement award in October, we asked: "Does a Congresswoman from Minnesota who has that morbidly exuberant zombie gaze of an extra from 'The Night of the Living Dead' merit a hypocrisy award or just a one-way trip to the loony bin?"
In the past few weeks, Bachmann has proven that she more than merits being called a hypocrite, as she has lashed her way through the media with remarks so outlandish, hyperbolic, incorrect, and inciting that she seems to have imbibed some right-wing hallucinogenic cocktail.
In a limp, cliché-filled Minnesota Star-Tribune profile (April 9) of the Congresswoman, Bachmann claims, "I haven't purposely been trying to be inflammatory. I'm trying to just explain to the American people what's happening here in Washington, D.C."
That's like a kid throwing dinnerware at the wall and saying that she wasn't trying to break any dishes.
"Michele Bachmann is a conservative," she told the Star-Tribune. "That's what it is, and she's not apologetic about it."
But Bachmann was not opposed to big government expansion and intrusion, as well as an exploding deficit under George W. Bush. In fact, one of her earlier infamous brushes with national attention came when she climbed over other U.S. Representatives to plant a kiss on Bush after one of his addresses to Congress.
She's not conservative; she's a bat crazy fundamentalist, American Exceptionalism, white people first, "armed and dangerous" NRA-loving dingbat.
Bachmann makes the John Birch society look like pinkos. She blames the media for repeating her outlandish quotes, even though she has a three-person communications team and a television booker.
If you run into Bachmann in D.C. -- which she calls "enemy territory" -- expect to see a black helicopter circling around her head. Like any true hypocrite, Bachmann avoids taking responsibility for her words or actions. She just lights the match and then avows that the fire started by itself.
Remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.
Catch up with you soon.
This is the second HOTW Award for Michele Bachmann. She also won the award on October 24, 2008. You can see a list of all previous nominees here.
