Michele Bachmann claims she isn't trying to be inflammatory, so she clearly wins the GOP Hypocrite of the Week

Michele Bachmann

Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

When we last honored Michele Bachmann with this dubious achievement award in October, we asked: "Does a Congresswoman from Minnesota who has that morbidly exuberant zombie gaze of an extra from 'The Night of the Living Dead' merit a hypocrisy award or just a one-way trip to the loony bin?"

In the past few weeks, Bachmann has proven that she more than merits being called a hypocrite, as she has lashed her way through the media with remarks so outlandish, hyperbolic, incorrect, and inciting that she seems to have imbibed some right-wing hallucinogenic cocktail.

In a limp, cliché-filled Minnesota Star-Tribune profile (April 9) of the Congresswoman, Bachmann claims, "I haven't purposely been trying to be inflammatory. I'm trying to just explain to the American people what's happening here in Washington, D.C."

That's like a kid throwing dinnerware at the wall and saying that she wasn't trying to break any dishes.

"Michele Bachmann is a conservative," she told the Star-Tribune. "That's what it is, and she's not apologetic about it."

But Bachmann was not opposed to big government expansion and intrusion, as well as an exploding deficit under George W. Bush. In fact, one of her earlier infamous brushes with national attention came when she climbed over other U.S. Representatives to plant a kiss on Bush after one of his addresses to Congress.

She's not conservative; she's a bat crazy fundamentalist, American Exceptionalism, white people first, "armed and dangerous" NRA-loving dingbat.

Bachmann makes the John Birch society look like pinkos. She blames the media for repeating her outlandish quotes, even though she has a three-person communications team and a television booker.

If you run into Bachmann in D.C. -- which she calls "enemy territory" -- expect to see a black helicopter circling around her head. Like any true hypocrite, Bachmann avoids taking responsibility for her words or actions. She just lights the match and then avows that the fire started by itself.

Remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.

Catch up with you soon.

This is the second HOTW Award for Michele Bachmann. She also won the award on October 24, 2008. You can see a list of all previous nominees here.

Bachmann - A deer in the headlights of fact

As a native of Washington, D.C., the scariest thing about the alien creatures like Rep. Michele Bachmann who suddenly appear in the U.S. Congress, is that a majority of somebody, somewhere voted for them. Prior to this pathetic digbat's appearence in D.C., I'd always thought of Minnesotans as good sensible Vikings and Germans who were rooted in clear headed realism. Enter Bachmann, exit that illusion! Bachmann meant there's a bunch of gnomes somewhere in Minnesota who determined that she's smarter, or at least as smart, as they are. Geeezus, now that is really scary!

We ignore these fanatics

<> We ignore these fanatics at our own peril. When Lefties get angry, really ,really fire snorting, pissed off, no-holding-them-back furious, they stage a march. When Reichwingers get stirred up by the professional liars who have control of the media, they shoot people and blow up buildings. Reichwing reactionaries have a history of going postal that dates back to the Civil War. If there is going to be a violent state of unrest in this country during Obama's adminstration, guess who'll be the ones to start it?

She blames the media for

She blames the media for repeating her outlandish quotes, even though she has a three-person communications team and a television booker. she's a lesbian???Oh, I thought that said 'hooker'... :)

Too Much Time

Too much time and effort is spent repeating and giving attention to the wingnuts - and it's what they want...any attention even negative is better than none at all - so all the outrageous claims give the media what they need to keep people watching... I wish we could just say it's stupid and ridiculous and move on - but unfortunately we're cursed with a 30% ignorant electorate who continue to believe the crap. I wish somebody would interview the people in Michele's district and ask them why they keep voting for her. "In this world of sin and sorrow, there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." H.L. Mencken

Fair warning

Bachman reminds leftists that we need the Second Amendment at least as much as the fascists do.

So We Can Do What, Exactly?

As a gun owner and supporter of our RKBA, I nonetheless fail to see your point. The Bush administration, without firing a single shot or finding it necessary to confiscate a single privately-owned gun, still managed to execute a hostile takeover of this country. He revoked our rights to free speech and due process. He reigned by decree - ignoring the Congress and the Courts. He condoned the practice of torture as national policy. And the 2A zealots didn't do squat to prevent or oppose it. Of course, in reality, there really wasn't anything they could do. So, I have to ask: How, precisely, do you envision countering the rhetoric of Bachmann and her minions with your firearms?

"Wasnt trying to be

"Wasnt trying to be inflammatory" - these Conservatives hiding behind this legalistic sort of defense - claiming they didnt say what they said!! Quoting Thomas Jefferson - to supposedly back up their case for sedition, Thomas Jefferson felt it was right to overthrow the colonial government so therefore it must be okay to agitate for violence against the USA!! The Conservatives - and they are indeed Conservatives - they sure arent Liberals - the Conservatives like to pretend like Thomas Jefferson gives them an excuse to incite hatred against Americans just over voting for Obama.
