Ted Kennedy's flame of commitment to our nation keeps growing stronger; he wins the Wings of Justice award

Ted Kennedy
On Sunday, March 8, Ted Kennedy was honored at the aptly (in honor of JFK) named Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Luminaries far too many, including the Obamas, celebrities, Congressional leaders, and the extended Kennedy family attended in a joyous, humorous, celebratory tribute to the great "Lion" of the Senate.
Ted Kennedy has been honored with the BuzzFlash Wings of Justice twice before, but he now becomes our first three-time recipient. That's a small acknowledgement of the contributions he has made to America.
A lesser person would have, perhaps, long ago retired to private life, given the tragedies that Ted Kennedy has endured. Even if he had been gifted with a less star-crossed series of losses in his family, most senators -- at his age of 77 -- have long since settled into institutional inertia, resting on their laurels and enjoying the perks and power of being a D.C. insider.
But what motivates BuzzFlash to bestow another Wings of Justice Award on Kennedy is his endless, ageless passion for improving the great community known as the United States of America. During the darkest political hours of this nation, Ted Kennedy never lost the fire in his belly to lift all of us up for the better.
Ted Kennedy's flame of commitment to our nation has never gone out; if anything, it has become stronger over the years. For that, he merits his third BuzzFlash Wings of Justice Award.
