Judging Congress -- Will the Incoming 111th Improve on the 110th?

BE ELECTED

The New York Times expects the incoming 111th Congress to be socially conservative and "moderate," with Blue-Dog Democrats emboldened and the House Republican caucus "calcified into a more conservative bloc because of retirements of its moderate members."

New Voices in Congress Will Change the Tone of the Democratic Majority

Do you agree?

Meanwhile, Gallup reports that Americans absolutely disdained the 110th Congress:

111th Congress Begins in Very Disapproving Environment. Only 19% approved of Congress on average in 2008.

What do you expect of the new crew? Will the new Congress improve on the old one? How will it differ, and why or why not can we expect it to be better?

Congress

The best philosophy for electing Congress is "Vote against the incumbent"...

I think Obama will slap Congress silly if they stay the course..

Did Something Change?

The events of this week alone fill me with consternation.

The public whimpering DiFi unleashed just because she didn't like Obama's choice of Panetta for CIA Director revealed clearly that there are far too many DINOs still in the Congress. It's no wonder the GOP isn't running scared that this "new" Congress is going to reduce their excessive influence over the demise of this nation. It can't. It's still made up of the old Congress - the oldest in history.

I'm not young myself, but I haven't lost the ability to notice that change is necessary - unlike our Democratic Congressional delegation. One has to wonder if this isn't the reason that Obama has not publicly announced that he's going to roll back the accumulation of power in the executive branch established by his predecessor.

If so, let's hope he doesn't become corrupted by the power, for we already know from the experience of the last eight years that we can't count on the legislative or judicial branches to stand up for the Constitution.

I'm not optomistic

When you've hit bottom, the only way to go is up...unless you're Congress. If you're the current Congress, you bring in a backhoe and give yourself more room to go down.

As long as Reid and Pelosi are in charge, the minority Republicans will still run the show and continue to try to destroy the middle class.
