What would you do to get a ticket to the Obama Inauguration ceremony?

$20,095. $40,000. $10,858. These are just three of the alleged prices people are asking or getting for a ticket to the January 20 event. That could buy a lot of house, gas, food, et al.
However, you might not be aware that Senators and Representatives of the upcoming Congress hand out tickets. So suck up to the new person instead of the outgoing person. And they're free.
Plus, the government releases tickets at the last minute, less than a week before the inauguration, so there can't be a lot of jockeying for financial position.
So, assuming you want to be there live in person at what promises to be a magnificent, historic event, what would you do to get a ticket to the event?

tickets?
If I can do the airfare I have plenty of free spaces to stay as I lived there for almost 20 years and have gotten invites to return for this.
[Sorry - it sort of makes me feel bad as hotels and other spaces are going to get "gougey pricey" like for an Olympics.] If you can get there - go - there is much to do and see for free - I saw Clinton's 1st from the public street....
It's probably going to be one great big outdoor block party!!! The fancy balls are not my style anyway :-)

It's MY country and I want it back! [And we did get it back!]
Did you check out hotel prices?
Hotel prices (even if you can find a room available, which they are not) are through the roof!
People are renting out their houses, for prices of $10,000 for the week and up ... I saw one article where a guy was renting out his spare bedroom in his townhome for $1500 a night!
So much for the little people, eh?
