Washington, DC radio stations tie their image to Barack Obama and John McCain

When people tune into the cable news channels, they usually flock to a channel that conforms to their approach: right-wingers go to FOX, those even remotely left might find some solace in MSNBC, and those who don't really pay attention end up at CNN.

But in Washington, DC, you can literally tune in a station devoted to your major party presidential candidate

"Obama 1260" broadcasts Air America shows and "McCain 570" features standard right-wing talk show hosts.

Red Zebra, which owns both stations, came up with the idea to promote its low-powered talk stations. The radio stunt started September 15.

WTNT-AM (570) broadcasts with 5,000 watts during the day and 1,000 watts at night; WWRC-AM (1260) broadcasts around the clock at 5,000 watts.

There doesn't appear to be any significant adjustments to the actual candidates, other than the on-air talent is most likely to appeal to those that would support the candidate.
