Hillary Clinton wasn't wearing a flag pin last night, yet no questions on her patriotism. Isn't that interesting?

Not a flag pin to be found last night
Flag pins and patriotism -- relevant to all the candidates or just Barack Obama?
Obama got the questions last night, yet Hillary Clinton wasn't wearing a pin last night.
Were George and Charles lacking peripheral vision, because the whole nation could see the irony of trying to nail Obama when Clinton wasn't wearing a flag pin either? Not that either of them lack patriotism because they weren't, but why was it just an issue with Obama in Philadelphia? Often Clinton is not wearing a flag pin. We know both of them are patriots, but we also know that George and Charles must be journalistic tabloid wannabes who can't see what is right in front of them.
Here is a picture of one of the times that Clinton was wearing one, but she didn't in Philadelphia -- and she often doesn't.
And here is a picture of John McCain not wearing one next to Rudy Giuliani who is wearing one.

Is it because Obama has the "funny name"? Or the false rumors about his religion?
So let us know what you think? Does wearing a flag pin matter to all candidates or just Obama?

Got an E-mail from John McCain about his NEW LAPEL PIN
Patriotism v. Nationalism
The language of patriotism, for many hundred of years, has been used to invoke a sense of pride in one's political institutions and the way those institutions have made possible the blessings of liberty for all--not just a few soldiers, or so-called 'war heroes'.
By comparison, "nationalism", which was the brainchild of the late 18th century Europe, is used primarily to defend and enforce specific cultural and ethnic norms of a people which can be lumped up as ideology. As one might expect, the enemy of nationalism is cultural contamination, racial differences, religious differences, and intellectual free thought.
Modern day nationalists have little or no regard for differences, open debates, or a tolerance of cultural differences. For the nationalist, our republic is not for the weal of the many as is traditionally understood by patriots. Far from it. We live in a regime, as it were, an orthodox pattern of regulated behavior in which one dominate race (natio) rules.
Patriotism, which is much different than nationalism, carries in its spirit a love of liberty which is shared commonly. It is an openness towards the other and a deep sense of fellow feeling despite cultural differences.
When it comes to war, a nationalist feels only secure if the nation has more power and prestige. War for the patriot is strictly a matter of defense, for the patriot is content with his freedom and his fellowship with others.
In this understanding those like Bush and McCain are no patriots. They are nationalists. The diminutive of this, by the way, in German is "nazi".
Reminds me of the Hitler Salute
which everyone in Germany had to do, or be turned into the SS. If you were an agent for another country, wouldn't the first two things you would get is a flag pin and a Bible?
Are we next going to have to wear Elephant pins, Donkey pins, Bible pins, or whatever religion you are pins, and on and on? Yellow Star pins, Pink Triangle pins....... No thank you. I am an American. I do not have to tell anyone what I am or what I believe in. I have the right to decide what I will do to show my appreciation for my country. I do not wear a pin. I do not have a ribbon on the back of my car saying I support the troops. I actually try to keep my country a Constitutional Republic and I actually support my troops, by giving to Veterans groups and hounding Congress to pass all the benefits that they are entitled to. Unlike John McCain who wants to take away their benefits, so that they will stay in the military. Shame on him! Shame on all of those people who demand that someone wear a "Lapel Pin".
Privacy Rights. That is one of those Rights that they hate us for and our soldiers are giving their lives for. The Right to wear a pin or not.
Remember, after 911, all those people who put on those flag pins, and without thought, took us into an illegal war. Banners, pins, slogans all stop thinking and the one thing our Founding Fathers wanted was for all of us to THINK!
Our symbols of patriotism... worn as jewelry?
Flag as Icon
Good Post
What Did You Expect from Charles and George?
These two may be the worst news people on a non-Fox network. Oh, I almost forgot about Tim Russert. It's really a close contest.
Charles makes up statistics on the effect of capital gains tax rates on tax revenue and claims that they are facts.
Shouldn't George have disclosed that he used to work in the Clinton administration?
They are master at asking questions that have no right answers? They might as well have asked the candidates when they stopped beating their spouses.
"Would you stick to your plans for troop withdrawals no matter what the military commanders said." If the answer is yes, then you must be a completely ideological, inflexible boob. If the answer is no, then how can the electorate trust you to keep your word.
The more important question
Excellent Question!!
