How The White House Will Manipulate Events and Emotions to Maintain GOP Executive Branch Control in 2008

According to what I had read, Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as corporate responsibility, corporate citizenship, responsible business and corporate social opportunity is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business would monitor and ensure their adherence to law, ethical standards, and international norms. Business would embrace responsibility for the impact of their activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore, business would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: People, Planet, Profit. The practice of CSR is subject to much debate and criticism. Proponents argue that there is a strong business case for CSR, in that corporations benefit in multiple ways by operating with a perspective broader and longer than their own immediate, short-term profits. Critics argue that CSR distracts from the fundamental economic role of businesses; others argue that it is nothing more than superficial window-dressing; others argue that it is an attempt to pre-empt the role of governments as a watchdog over powerful multinational corporations. While, Socially responsible investing, also known as sustainable investing or ethical investing, describes an investment strategy which seeks to maximize both financial return and social good. In general, socially responsible investors favor corporate practices that promote environmental stewardship, consumer protection, human rights, and diversity. Some (but not all) avoid businesses involved in alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons, the military, and/or abortion. For all these matter, I conclude that money really matters. I can't imagine that Bush, Cheney, and Rove care at all about any risks of doing anything. Who cars if there is civil war in Pakistan or we end up fighting Iran? They can make it all work for them.

While I totally agree with your assertion that the current corrupt, criminal administration's interest "...is to ensure that the Republicans can hold onto power indefinitely..." what comes with that interest is the NeoCons' determination to use that power to stay in Iraq forever!

Just browse the site for rabid condemnations of Ralph Nader, for example, guilty of not emulating the weak-willed and ethically compromised Democrats. Instead of demanding that their representatives develop a spine like Nader's, liberal fascists demand that Nader stop making their pantywaist pols look bad, and blame him (over and above all other 3rd party candidates, who also siphon votes) when their losers lose.

I don't write on blogs much. I have been saying this ever since this duly appointed Administration took office. The Supreme Court appointed GWB and DC to office against the constitution and the will of the people. That was coup #1.
Coup #2 was a corporate manipulation of the voting in Ohio and Florida (again).
Coup #3 will be completed over this next year. All suborning of the constitution is in place. Habeas corpus is dead, posse comatatis is dead, Bill of Rights is crippled and dying. All brought to you for sake of party by the Republicans in support of an administration that has, though crony ism and blatantly outright corruption, given away the treasury. An administration whose head is really its behind and it's 2nd in command really runs the show. Who would have voted for a Cheney/Bush ticket anyway.

I feel like I am sitting in the passenger seat in an out of control car, careening down a steep mountain road. I keep pressing on the floor but I have no pedal to stop it.

The corruption and takeover of our government is endemic. The only way to undo it is to Impeach. That is the President, Vice President, The cabinet (in total) and the Supreme Court Justices Alito, Roberts, Scalia and Thomas.

I do not have confidence in the Democrats to do this. Either they do not realize the ruthlessness of the administration, they are in cahoots with the administration (why can the Republican Minority get bills held up left and right and the previous Democratic minority give in on every bill they had to vote on?)or they are a bunch of ideologues who think this takeover could not happen maybe they think these powers will be taken over by the benevolent Democratic Party winner of the 2008 election . There are any number of books, articles and essays outlining the specific articles of impeachment (they are all being updated daily in response to this administration's continued trampling of the Constitution and Criminal laws of the United States). There is no need to wait or have hearings to gather data in support of presenting the articles of impeachment.

Enough is enough. IMPEACH THEM ALL

After reading that Bush is planning a "police State" as early as next year by Paul Craig Roberts , a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan who has recently become known for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War - my heart sank as I realized saving our Democracy appears to be more of a whim or dream than the reality I had first imagined; unfortunately, in plain sight, Bush and Cheney changed enough of our martial law doctrine and added other "Executive Orders" that will aid them in the final take-over of America - and still the public is largely silent on the matter:

Thom Hartmann began his program on Thursday by reading from a new Executive Order which allows the government to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies.

He then introduced old-line conservative Paul Craig Roberts -- a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan who has recently become known for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War -- by quoting the "strong words" which open Roberts' latest column: "Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

"I don't actually think they're very strong," said Roberts of his words. "I get a lot of flak that they're understated and the situation is worse than I say. ... When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order] ... there's no check to it. It doesn't have to be ratified by Congress. The people who bear the brunt of these dictatorial police state actions have no recourse to the judiciary. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule. ... The American people don't really understand the danger that they face."

Roberts said that because of Bush's unpopularity, the Republicans face a total wipeout in 2008, and this may be why "the Democrats have not brought a halt to Bush's follies or the war, because they expect his unpopular policies to provide them with a landslide victory in next year's election."

However, Roberts emphasized, "the problem with this reasoning is that it assumes that Cheney and Rove and the Republicans are ignorant of these facts, or it assumes that they are content for the Republican Party to be destroyed after Bush has his fling." Roberts believes instead that Cheney and Rove intend to use a renewal of the War on Terror to rally the American people around the Republican Party. "Something's in the works," he said, adding that the Executive Orders need to create a police state are already in place.

"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," Roberts continued. "Chertoff has predicted them. ... The National Intelligence Estimate is saying that al Qaeda has regrouped. ... You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda's not going to do it, it's going to be orchestrated. ... The Republicans are praying for another 9/11." MORE

It's important to note that the above article/essay wasn't written by a Liberal Democrat - but a Conservative Republican who is intimately familiar with our government and the treasonous activities that are now being released on at least a semi-weekly basis. Seymour Hersh has been "Screaming Bloody Murder" for months - yet "we the people" have not acted nor responded to his, and the many other mainstream pundits and journalists who are warning us that if nothing is done to halt its demise - America as we know it will soon only be something we can tell our children at bedtime, providing its "allowed" by the government.

Make no mistake - the time to impeach Bush and Cheney is NOW - not tomorrow or next week, as these despots are on the run, and the only place they can hide will be inside "Fortress America" - coming soon to a location near you!
