Bush Embraces the Culture of Death

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

The other day, Bush read one of his pandering anti-choice, anti-stem cell research scripts glorifying the "culture of life."

How hypocritical for a man who has come to exemplify the culture of death.

From his record-setting pace for executions in Texas to 9/11 to Iraq to Katrina to the worst mass shooting in American history at Virginia Tech, Bush is a man who embraces the culture of death.

That’s not to mention two additional examples, among far too many, of the Bush obsession with choosing public policies that are firmly rooted in his perverse joy in having the power to cause people to die.

Firstly, on stem cell research, in claiming to "save" dead embryos, he is condemning people to death who might otherwise live through the cures that stem cell research might provide. Secondly, he has no interest in prolonging the lives of poor people, who grow from embryos into America’s economically dispossessed. Bush’s policies are all based on the survival of the fittest, not a reverence for life.

And they are based on a death machine in Iraq for which he is bullying Congress into additional funding, because he and Cheney don’t want to be humiliated with a "loss." More significantly, Bush and Cheney are like junkies who can’t give up the gravy train of hundreds of billions of dollars that go into the war profiteering machine for GOP donors.

If Bush and Cheney -- with hundreds of billions of dollars and the world’s purported strongest military -- can’t outwit a bunch of poorly armed "terrorists," then what are they doing still sitting in the White House? The Iraq War has now lasted longer than World War II. All it has produced is war profits of so many digits we get dizzy and hundreds of thousands of Americans and Iraqi deaths.

The reality is that Bush loves to have the power over death too much.

This also applies to the shooting at Virginia Tech on April 16th. What did Bush have to say in response to the largest mass shooting in American history?

A White House spokesman said Bush was horrified and offered his prayers to the victims and the people of Virginia. "The president believes that there is a right for people to bear arms, but that all laws must be followed," spokeswoman Dana Perino said, according to the Associated Press.

The NRA and gun industry have been unstinting supporters of Bush. They are radical ideologues and profiteers off an industry of death.

We don’t need dead "snowflake" embryos exploited for political opportunity by Bush.

We need an American leader who embraces life over the profits and political cynicism of an illegitimate president who boasts about the sanctity of life, but is a promoter of governmental policies that cause so much unnecessary death.

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

What Makes Bush the Authority on What is Life

Oh this is another issue I have with current administration.

Mr. President claims using stem cells are killing a living being yet; how many troops have perished in a war that appears to have no concrete course of action even from the beginning?

How is it that unfertilized embryos constitute life in completion? The embryos are unfertilized therefore they will not develop in to a fetus! How can this basic logic in sexual reproduction elude this man?

So we must halt any possibility for cures for people whom are dying now?

Where is the right to life for them? There already here from an embryo and it was fertilized!!

Yet; the president whom appears to gaining more power and why? Because; the two political parties cannot even agree on the birds and the bees!!

Presidential BeLIEvability

Since when has outlaw Bush personally practiced "that ALL LAWS must be followed"?
His own example is abysmally morally depraved (fundamental instance[s], CHRONICALLY and PATHOLOGICALLY violating his God's law NOT to LIE; Leviticus 19:11).

Bush and the culture of death

Bush, and indeed the whole Corporatist power structure (of all the industrialized nations), are advocates of a "culture of death", because it always has served their interests.

We, as a race, face a situation that has never before occurred in history. 3 things have converged, more or less at the same time---Peak Oil (resource depletion in general), population overshoot, and climate change. The Capitalist system we have used as a model for the last 500 years is breaking down. The Corporatists know all of this, and have for some time (read George Kennan's comments on maintenance of American power post WW2), and strive to maintain their power and wealth.

Population control measures are in line...through both overt and covert policies. I believe these creatures feel that "culling the herd" after birth and instilling obedience to the state is better than intelligent birth control---it doesn't offend the blood cult "christian" faction, also, who believe that God will tell them when to stop having children...a male sexist notion if there ever was one!

As for Virginia Tech--I believe that this horrible, tragic shooting was a more or less random incident (I am a gun owner and yes, we need better gun laws and EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION dammit! THINK!), and I believe it will be used as a propaganda device to further the Corporatist agenda of obedience to the state...and eventually, to facilitate disarming the public with the NRA's blessing as that particular organization becomes transformed (again) to further the interests of the state. In this way, it will be used to make sure our college educated middle class will OBEY, both to preserve their careers and to perpetuate the system.

I am reminded of of a quote from Milton Mayer's book "They Thought They Were Free":

"You have gone almost all the way yourself. Life is a continuing process, a flow, not a succession of acts and events at all. It has flowed to a new level, carrying you with it, without any effort on your part. On this new level you live, you have been living more comfortably every day, with new morals, new principles. You have accepted things you would not have accepted five years ago, a year ago, things that your father...could not have imagined."

And...just HOW in king-sized hell did OUR oil get under the sand that those brown people live on??? (sic)

culture of death

For all of you who are blasting the NRA and the 2nd amendment, I have a scenario that I want you to imagine - the Bushies are the ONLY ones with the guns. Feel better now? Is there really ANY government that you would trust with that much power? If so, you have APD (Authoritarian Personality Disorder) coming to a DSM near you soon!

Barrel Full of Freedom

Amen, grd. When guns are made criminal, only the criminals will have guns--namely, the government. The only thing that prevents a true totalitarian takeover of this country, "the knock on the door", is the hunting rifle or shotgun in the closet of Everyman. As Mao Tse Tung said it best, "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."

I love BuzzFlash, but I think they miss the boat on this issue.

Call me a commie traitor, but....

What more do you need to know about Bush and the culture of death? In very brief comments, he uses the Virginia Tech tragedy as an opportunity to convince us that we should honor the right to bear arms, such as concealable, semi-automatic handguns.

Fear the Corporate Oligarchy!

bush & the culture of death

Please don't talk about dumbass as if his "decisions" are driven by a normal mentality, or that decency and virtue are what guide his life. He is (and always has been) a lamebrain and sadistic psycopath, who was installed in his office by Poppie's boys, and who is kept on a short leash and told what to say and do. He's there to conceal the REAL power controlling our country, and is expendable. This is the essence of the evil of this nightmarish regime.

Your Stupid "Editorial"

I wondered how long it would take one of you commie traitors to blame Bush for the VA Tech shooting. You act like he was there and pulled the trigger. Do you even listen to the ridiculous things you say???

Who's the real traitor?

Hey jackass, nobody said Bush was to blame for the shooting. And do you even know what a commie is? I suggest you learn to read before you criticize things you don't understand you small-minded ignoramus. By the way, allowing the populace to criticize government policy is the supposed hallmark of our system so for you to attack us as traitors shows who the real traitor is.

Not to blame for the 32 dead

Even though you obviously didn't read the editorial that was actually about the Bushian "culture of life" hypocrisy, I'll throw you a bone. You are right, Bush didn't pull the trigger on the 32 students. He did pull the trigger on hundreds of thousands of Iraqis however. So you can have your 32, but Bush'll take the hundred thousand. Please refrain from trolling here you little illiterate coward. No one here gives a shit what little right wing prison bitch recreants like yourself think.

Blame Bush? Why not.

Some 6 years ago one guy named Clinton was blamed for everything, from a blow job to a famine in Uganda. Yet, on his watch, a war was prevented and there was no unnecessary loss of life.

Now we have an all-hat-no-cattle "cowboy" Bush. He is way to stupid and too ugly to even get a blow job. But really, don't we have anything, ANYTHING to pin on him? The editorial is right. He is in the dark culture of death up to his eyeballs. He supports the NRA - hell, for all practical purpose they run their business out of Oval Office - thus we can pin the VA Tech shooting on him, like a tail on a donkey.

You know, he is guilty of so much death and destruction, that I am going to blame him for EVERYTHING that happened/happens/will happen on his watch. I am going to blame him for the lies that led to the destruction of Iraq. I am going to blame him for all the America lives, and all the Iraqi lives lost in that war. I am going to pin on him Katrina - the very existence of it, mind you, because global warming is HIS fault. I am going to blame him for the next solar eclipse, for the next supernova at the edge of some far, far away galaxy. I am going to blame him for NOT gettting a blow job (cause he is so stupid, crude and ugly). If he got it, we could impeach the bastard. As it is, he keeps screwing entire country, killing people left and right and stealing from poor to give to the rich - and nobody can do anything. Because he did not get the BJ that is in this police country an impeachable offense.

Didn't take long for a reply from the idiocracy

Gee, JD2007 (Juvenile Delinquent 2007?) it didn't take long for some one, yourself, to start throwing around the "commie traitor" label. I will grant you one thing, you know how to use the "shift" key and capitalize, and spell. In fact I suspect your comment may be satire. Good show!
