All the King's Men Sign a Death Warrant on American GIs
A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL
There is no "new plan" for Bush to announce.
We have been seeing the same plan endlessly fail – and then endlessly repackaged over and over and over again.
There is, however, a new PR word – "surge" – that came out of the infamous Frank Luntz focus groups to try to make the stench of American men and women dying in Baghdad in greater numbers more palatable.
That is all that is new to Bush’s defiant legacy of failed leadership.
The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that the escalation of troops was chosen, in large part, to defy the "Iraq Study Group": "As described by participants in the administration review, some staff members on the National Security Council became enamored of the idea of sending more troops to Iraq in part because it was not a key feature of Baker-Hamilton."
In short, more Americans will die because the psychiatrically impaired Bush needs to give the finger to his father.
What’s more, the last remaining loyalists surrounding Bush, Cheney and Rove have defied the unanimous opinion of the Joints Chief of Staff in pursuing the diabolical plan of escalating our military presence in the midst of a civil war. All the king’s men were only able to proceed with signing the death warrant on American GIs after firing dissenting generals who would not tow the party line, or bludgeoning others into keeping their mouths shut.
This betrayal of the lives of our GIs is a criminal act. It is an action that will result in unnecessary deaths for the sole reason of three men who cannot admit the horrendous mistake that they undertook that resulted in the deaths of 3000 GIs to begin with – men, women and even grandparents (reservists) who were killed in the sands and streets of Iraq.
For any media outlet to call this a "surge" or a "new plan" – or give it the veneer of credibility -- is to enable a felonious act of lunacy and egomania.
All the king’s men have betrayed their country and signed a death warrant on military personnel who believed that their commander-in-chief would only send them into harm’s way to protect our national security.
They never signed on to be cannon fodder for the folly of egregiously inept men, whose only concern is their own reputations, egos, and political positioning.
This is not a "new plan" -- just a variation on the theme of utter incompetence that has lasted years; it is indifferently upping the death count of men and women of whom we have asked so much, but never to die for the delusions of a mad monarch.

An Impossibly Optimistic Prophesy (the Marxist prespective)
The situation in Iraq will continue its exponential worsening for the next 9 months. At this time U.S. soldiers will begin shooting their own commanders when ordered to go "over the top" or into hostile neighborhoods in this example. This will be followed by the joint Iraqi/U.S. liquidation of all private foreign "contractors" in country, and after a 90 year hiatus the October Revolution begins it's spread through the rest of the world.
We all love fairy tales, especially those that end "...happily ever after", but seriously tell me the above scenario is any less likely than an eventual American "victory" in Iraq.
Escalation is a Tactical Ploy
If everyone is shouting about escalation, escalation, they won't pay much attention to actually getting the troops out of Iraq, only of trying to prevent more from being sent.
That way, Bush prolongs the war. But I think he really believes the US can stay in Iraq indefinitely, and that, as an oilman, he's convinced that we have to--to protect the US oil companies who stand to profit from the new oil law moving through Iraq's "sovereign" parliament.
We have to ensure that it remains "sovereign," which means supporting the Shiite government and pretending it's not carrying out ethnic cleansing. After all, the largest unexploited oil reserves in the world are at stake.

9/11 Accountability Strategies & Solutions Conference

A national conference focusing on conspiracy theories tied to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is coming to Chandler next month.
"We are taking the information one step further, and we want to raise accountability," said Eric D. Williams, a filmmaker and conference co-chairman.
The event, "9/11 Accountability Strategies & Solutions Conference," will feature 40 speakers and 30 films. It will be Feb. 23-25 at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler.
"There are two conspiracy theories about 9/11, the government's and the other conspiracy theory," Williams said. "No matter whose theory you believe, no one has been held accountable."
The "other" theory is one that claims government complicity in the attacks.
Speakers include investigative journalist Jim Marrs, author of The Terror Conspiracy; Steven E. Jones, a retired physics professor at Brigham Young University who contends the World Trade Center collapse was a controlled demolition, and John Feal, president of the FealGood Foundation, a group advocating for first responders suffering health problems.
Other participants include radio host Alex Jones and New York artist Janette MacKinlay, author of the book Fortunate: A Personal Diary of 9/11.
The films, which will be shown continuously in a theater at the conference, include 9/11 Mysteries, Terror Storm and What Really Is the Matrix: World Events. Williams expects discussions to go into current politics.
"We went to war (in Iraq) for the wrong reasons," he said. "Let's try to figure out a way to stop funding an illegal and wrong war. . . . We elect people to watch over us, but when they get there, they're watching out for themselves. We have to focus on accountability."
The conference is sponsored by Phoenix-based 911 Truth of Arizona.

5th anniversary of the first GWOT detainees interned to Gitmo. Cindy and Medea are down in Cuba and I am off to march on State st from the Court to City Hall with a bunch of people in orange jumpsuits and hoods. Up here in the urban areas of the NorthEast, we are preaching to the converted 90% of the time, the last 10% are really loud. We should be doing this in Utah.
It's 9/11 stupid!
9/11 was the REAL excuse used to get us into Iraq! Not WMD's. This disgrace of a President used it again last night! While there was NO mention of so-called weapons of mass destruction, he did YET AGAIN invoke the memory of September 11, 2001.
Yes, the truth is that 9/11 was the "new Pearl Harbor" that was MADE to happen on purpose, by the PNAC to launch a pre-emptive war against a sovereign nation. Google "PNAC New Pearl Harbor"! Now ask yourself, why this is being CENSORED from the masses!
So long as WE THE PEOPLE keep our eyes shut tight in fear regarding the truth that 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB, the longer we will have to indure this nightmare called IRAQ!
To wake up, we must do but one thing: WAKE UP!
Iran, Iran, Iran...
After Speech:
Both the U.S. and the Israeli governments know plenty about where the nuclear sites are in Iran.
According to Scott Ritter, we have had people on the ground, in Iran for months, and is there really anything that goes on in that area of the world that Israeli Intelligence doesn't know about?
If the Congress sits back and allows meat-head to do this totally meaningless thing in Iraq, he will take that to mean that he could get away with a pre-emptive strike on Iran.
I am afraid that if he is not confronted with all the force a Democracy can bring to bear, on an out-of-control Executive, and allowed to leave office in 2009, after another election, he will strike Iran. It is only a matter of time, and there are quite a few Carrier Groups already in the area. Naval movements have been afoot since around the time of the election.
20,000 troops will do nothing to stop the violence in Iraq. Chances are, such a deployment will only make matters worse.
When all is said and done with this "surge," we will still have fewer people patrolling Iraq than NYC has police, patrolling its streets.
So, really, what the hell is he doing? Simply trying to drag the mess out, so it will fall to the next president to deal with it, or is this a test for the new Congress?
Iran Iran
The latest gambit's failure will be blamed on Iran. Therefore, we have no alternitive but to use our battle fleets, which just happen to be in the neighbourhood, to show them who is the boss.
Bush seems to always telegraph his moves. I should point out that he is not a tactical genius(any one who disagrees with his plans is no longer in sight).
Isreal's attack and invasion of Lebanon didn't draw in Iran as planned, so I would assume this time he will use a more direct approach.
Kranky Canuck
Raise the Bet
In classic Neo-con/Bush fashion, he saw the Dems bet and raised it with his comments about the Carrier Group moving to the Gulf and warnings to Syria/Iran. He will order a pre-emptive strike probably using a Gulf of Tonkin type ruse. And I feel fairly certain it will be a nuclear strike....he'll probably use the Truman rationale of saving American lives to justify himself. Unfortunately, this barbaric act will be seen as a positive by many Americans.

Surge strictly a political ploy.
Republicans are always planning ahead for the next election, and the next and the next. Democrats on the other hand are perennial fall guys, chumps who always end up blindsided by Republican’s underhanded tactics. For example, Bush’s “surge” won’t win the war in Iraq, it is only intended to postpone defeat until it can be dumped on the next president, whom Republicans have reason to believe will be a Democrat. Republicans are not stupid. They know their record of corruption and war profiteering will likely to cost them the next presidential election, but that is a slap on the wrist considering the incredible profits they have stolen for their masters.
By 2012 most Americans will have forgotten that Republicans lied us into an unwinnable, but very profitable war, and Democrats will be blamed for losing the war. Then the GOP’s plutocratic masters will reward them with bountiful campaign contributions which will insure their return to power.
The best poker players know they can’t win every pot, they know when to hold ‘em, when to fold, and when to go All In.
Isn’t it about time for the chumps to wise up and to go All In? The Democrats need to grow a backbone, to choose a new strategy and go for broke. That means pinning the blame for Iraq on Republicans, and the only way they can do that is Impeach Bush and to end the war on his watch.
They’ve got to stop worrying about losing and concentrate on winning.
Cannon Fodder
To try to shame this lunatic by pointing out that the troops are mere "cannon fodder" whose only purpose is to further the political ambitions of the President, is a useless exercise. They know it. They believe it. It is a core value of these sociopaths. THAT is the problem. "Have you no shame?" falls on deaf ears. No, they have no shame. They don't even know what shame is.
The only answer is resolve, courage, and a unified plan to attack the stronghold. And it should be done quickly because, trust me, this guy WILL play the nuclear card if he is backed up into a corner.

Gonuts, Buzzflash has carried just about every report on DU that has been publish over the past four years, far as I can tell. I look for addl. articles and spread 'em around when I can. This IS the real Crime Against Humanity, not only using battlefield nukes (explosive rounds of burning radioactive material, what else would you call it?) but refusing to test for DU at the pre and post deployment med checks, refusing to admit to using it, hence not informing the troops that they carry this toxic load and you watch, 15 years of stonewalling till most of the worst exposed die before they do any studies, let alone develope treatment. Yeah. Support our Troops! Yeah, right.
Almost wish I was a Christian so I could believe that these guys would roast in Hell forever.
Why Bush Won't Admit The Iraq war's a mistake.
Because then everyone will be asking, "What was it again that our best and brightest gave their lives for?" And how long after that before Congress impeaches him, after which his worst nightmare, being put on trial at the International Court of Criminal Justice for his crimes against humanity, comes true? STAT, that's how long.
Bush should be called on to resign
"horrendous mistake"
Sorry Buzzflash but mistake is the wrong description. The Democrats should call for Bush and Cheney to resign. Any Republicans that want to back this President should feel welcome to resign too. ASAP. This is a joke.
Bush acts in bad faith. Letting him continue to do so at the expense of soldiers is disgraceful and un-American. In fact, condoning this plan borders on criminal negligence.
There is also speculation
among my more cynical friends that the troops the rounded up for this "Surge" will actually pause for a second in Kuwait and pivot eastward under a barrage of naval airwar, possibly after Israeli strikes on Iran's nuke plants (as if they knew where they are). Just a terrifying little bit of fantasy, don't worry, how bout them Gators!
Now we know why he stalled
and stalled and stalled before finally telling US what we already figured; The troops are already in transit. If the Dems try to refuse paying for the surge, that is additional funding over and above the continous blank check, they will be "cutting the bullets out of the troops' packs" (NPR comments in the after-blather). It's not a plan, it's fait-accomplie. We're Surgin'! Caint ya feel it?
If they are tried in the International Court, they will not be subject to the death penalty, if we try them in our courts, they certainly will.

The Blow Heard Round The World:
De-escalate on Bush, for IMPEACHMENT!
Death Sentance Indeed
There is a story so terrible that neither
Buzzflash nor any of the so-called progressive blogs, much less any of the MSM, will carry.
We have contaminated Iraq with enough depleted uranium (DP) to kill any living thing that uses the water, eats the food or breaths the air. Let that sink in. Much of Iraq will be uni-habitable for the next 100,000,000,000 years. The use of DP has been declared a war crime. Yet bush has used DP since the beginning of this illegal war.
It gets worse. Contaminated veterans are returning home and infecting their wives and lovers. Birth defects, cancer and unexplained illnesses are souring. In Iraq parents no longer ask if their baby is a boy or girl - they ask is it "normal".
And into this hell-hole bush has created he is going to send more troops and increase the levels of depleted uranium.
Nuclear war
Gonnuts is dead right - Why won't the blogs or anyone else tell the truth about depleted uranium? It's the worst genocide in the history of the world - perpetrated by the US and Britain.
We are so tosated.
chimp's speech
What an automaton! Chimpie looks like his Lithium is working just fine. Reminds me of South Park: "Blame Canada!"- e.g. "Blame Iraq!" If they can't step up, it's their fault. Bring 'em home- Iraq's dropped the ball! What a hoot. This sociopath has the neocons and the clueless drooling all over their bibs. How dare he pre-empt "Deal or No Deal"!
That speech
Listening to it as I write. The delivery is smooth and well prepared. My worry is that it is given in a fantasy world with no connection to reality. The high-flown sentiments about freedom, etc., etc. are just a fiction, are they not? Who is the enemy? Whom are they fighting against? What is new in this "policy"? I hope these words can be used against Bush at a point in the future when this second phase of failure becomes clear.
The Great Game
This surge would be the finger to the American people and the Congress too. All the cards would be on the table then I guess. Or he could be bluffing...
