BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

"Palin said, adding that she believes in a line from the Bible she paraphrased as: 'What the enemy seeks to destroy you with, no, God is going to turn it around for good.'" Hmmm, seems to me the only NO we've been hearing in America is coming from the Repuglicans and the radical religious right!!! Seems to me returning to that part of the Bible that says "WHATEVER YOU DID UNTO ONE OF THE LEAST, YOU DID UNTO ME" would, at the very least, include providing food, healthcare, and education, seems to me God frowns on those who would neglect "one of the least," and just what do you think that says about torturing and abusing another human being??? Empathy and compassion are the more rewarding emotions, clothing and feeding, caring for the infirmed are the more rewarding actions! Seems to me lying, cheating, and violence does not attract the "good"! Evidently "humble" and "humility" are certainly no longer a part of the radical right's vocabulary! Misrepresenting God for personal gain is an abomination and that is happening every day right here in America, by those who wish to control the masses!

Hmm, just have to wonder will this be another Rupert Murdoch styled endeavor. While "...the deal means Universal Pictures movies could get to cable faster," what will it do for objectivity in the news and current events? Will we have more of the same biased, misrepresented and totally controlled content posing as the truth in reporting??? "... it was already raising concerns that Comcast would wield too much power over entertainment," actually my concern is just how political do they intend to be and how much power will they wield over news content??? Will scandal and shame, disgrace and dishonor rule the airwaves or will we see a return to the Walter Cronkite methods of reporting??? Can a mega-corporation really be trusted to deliver the unbiased, unmitigated truth???

It's amazing how "corruption, drugs, oil, Halliburton, Armitage, Cheney, and Bush always seem to go together! "... the real operator in Afghanistan was Richard Armitage, a man whose legend includes being the biggest heroin trafficker in Cambodia and Laos during the Vietnam War; director of the State Department's Foreign Narcotics Control Office (a front for CIA drug dealing); head of the Far East Company (used to funnel drug money out of the Golden Triangle); a close liaison with Oliver North during the Iran-Contra cocaine-for-guns scandal; a primary Pentagon official in the terror and covert ops field under George Bush the Elder; one of the original signatories of the infamous PNAC document; and the man who helped CIA Director William Casey run weapons to the mujahideen during their war against the Soviet Union. Armitage was also stationed in Iran during the mid-1970s right before Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini overthrew the shah. Armitage may well be the greatest covert operator in U.S. history...on 9-11 -- Dick Cheney directly called for Armitage's presence down in his bunker. Immediately after WTC 2 was struck, Armitage told BBC Radio, 'I was told to go to the operations center [where] I spent the rest of the day in the ops center with the vice president.' These two share a long history together. Not only was Armitage employed by Cheney's former company Halliburton (via Brown & Root), but also he was a deputy when Cheney was Secretary of Defense under Bush the Elder. More importantly, Cheney and Armitage had joint business and consulting interests in the Central Asian pipeline that had been contracted by Unocal. The only problem standing between them and the Caspian Sea's vast energy reserves was the Taliban."
