BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

(Editor's note: This will be the last Minute for awhile. Barbara is taking well-deserved time off, returning October 1.)

If the Repuglicans ever manage to get back into the most powerful office in the world, the Oval Office, will they then start actually start "pulling the plug on Grandma"??? "Pawlenty told MSNBC's Joe Scarborough that worries about death panels 'are not irrational concerns'." The Repuglicans bring up the idea of "death panels" so often you have to wonder if it's part of their overall plan to assist the insurance companies bottom line, is this how they plan to pay back some of those millions in campaign contributions?? In the end, is it the Repuglicans who really want to get rid of all the old people??? After all it was the Repuglicans overwhelmingly voted for it when they first introduced it to America! "You would think that if Republicans wanted to totally mischaracterize a health care provision and demagogue it like nobody's business, they would at least pick something that the vast majority of them hadn't already voted for just a few years earlier. Because that's not just shameless, it's stupid... that's right. Remember the 2003 Medicare prescription drug bill, the one that passed with the votes of 204 GOP House members and 42 GOP Senators?....want to guess what it provided funding for? Did you say counseling for end-of-life issues and care? Ding ding ding!!"

"ROBERTS:... As we said the president is making the rounds of the Sunday shows, also appearing on Letterman on Monday. Is it possible to get too much president? Is he diluting his message by doing so many interviews with so many different people?" Memo to CNN and John Roberts -- after watching President Obama's address on healthcare at the University of Maryland and the rousing support he received I'd say the people are "fired up and ready to go" on healthcare! NO, he hasn't "diluted" his message and it's a relief to know this President cares about the American people!

"Right-Wingers Freak Out Over Obama's Missile Defense Move" When all the right wing-nuts react this quickly, you have to know President Obama is doing something right! Obviously "strength" is in knowing what you're capable of doing when necessary! Take it from one who knows -- "JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A nuclear-armed Iran would not be capable of destroying Israel, Defence Minister Ehud Barak said Thursday in remarks that departed from long-running Israeli arguments about the threat posed by its foe. Right now, Iran does not have a bomb. Even if it did, this would not make it a threat to Israel's existence. Israel can lay waste to Iran," Barak said in a transcript of a newspaper interview obtained by Reuters before publication Friday."

"Commentary: Carter is wrong on Obama's opposition" Ed Rollins Repuglican Pundit is WRONG! Did anyone really think the Repuglicans would tell the truth??? The Repuglicans won't ever admit they're a bunch of racists as well as a bunch of liars. Where were all these critiques when Bush was destroying America??? These guys were sucking up and kissing Bush butt and they were lying about how wonderful he was -- it didn't take long for history to prove George W. Bush was the worst President ever and his policies destroyed an otherwise thriving country! Had we listened to President Carter when all the Repuglican pundits were trashing him, we may have been a whole lot better off than we are today! President Jimmy Carter was and is ahead of his time and Americans would benefit from listening to his advice!

This is why we can't get too much President Obama -- the American people want the public-option! Think about it, President Obama attracted a very supportive 18,000 people in Maryland -- it took the Repuglicans quite a while and a lot of money to get the teabaggers, the birthers, the deathers, the tenthers, the indoctrinators and the secessionators together for a march on D.C. and then they had to exaggerate the numbers. The American people support the President, the American people are fed up with the Repuglicans and Repuglican dirty politics! That part of the American public that is capable of "critical thinking," the real "awakened American giants" are on to mainstream corporate media and the Repuglican shenanigans!
