BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

Way back when the majority of healthcare providers were not for profit, "Privatizing" healthcare was sold to the American public en masse with the slogan that "privatization would deliver higher quality healthcare at a lower cost." It's obvious that "lower cost" never happened, and as far as "quality" is concerned that's a toss up! Americans are told the "higher prices" are necessary to pay for research, now I know that great strides have been made in medicine here in the USA, but what "cures" have actually been accomplished, why do we have antibiotic resistant strains of disease, why do "hospital acquired diseases" kill people, why do flu epidemics become pandemic, and even in a capitalistic society, why do people involved in producing healthcare have to make billions of dollars to deliver said care???

* * *

"Privatization" in a capitalistic society always involves the bottom line MONEY, and if you think for one minute managing the cost of your care isn't a consideration, then think again! Talk about becoming a "number", healthcare delivery in today's world becomes a number with an additional "treatment cost" number! America needs HEALTHCARE REFORM! Just as "freedom" is a God given right, then so must healthcare be a God given right!

Ironic that "end of life counseling" became "death panels" for the GOP, especially since it all started with the GOP! "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men"??? That should be in the hearts of Repuglican men and women." Isakson, GOP Backs Away From End-of-Life Counseling... Isakson and other Republicans who eagerly backed the idea are distancing themselves from it or lying low in the face of a backlash from the right." Ahh, what tangled webs the Repuglicans weave.

* * *

Only the Repuglicans -- "Republican county chairmen (party leaders, not county board leaders) held a meeting and prepared to recite the pledge. Oops. There was no flag in the room for them to face while reciting. What to do? Why, call on a fellow named Gene to come to the rescue. Gene was wearing a shirt decked out in an American flag pattern. He came forward, and the group of assembled Republicans pledged allegiance to his shirt." It's called How to dumb down America of Repuglicans, for Repuglicans, by Repuglican dummies!

While there are those who would fervently deny, deny, deny, racism is still alive in America! And since it isn't "politically correct" to verbalize one's bigotry, the town hall meetings on healthcare have become a venue for the vehemence and the hatred to come forward! These meetings are an organized self-defeating display of ignorance in the current debate. Proof positive that the further we go, the more behind we get!
