BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

"The Commonwealth Fund, a leading researcher on health care issues, published a 2002 report on co-ops that had been created to help individuals and small businesses purchase insurance. Researchers found numerous failed ventures, and concluded the model did not result in lower premiums or significantly reduce the number of the uninsured." Note "the model did not result in lower premiums or significantly reduce the number of the uninsured"! Small business co-ops have been around for years -- insurance remains very expensive within the co-op! Coverage is still limited to insurance companies provisions, pre-existing conditions, and pre-approved procedures. To those who oppose healthcare reform -- just wait it won't be long before health care costs will be astronomical, insurance premiums out of reach, and you will be among the underinsured or uninsured, you won't have to worry about "death panels," you will be left to die because you can't pay the piper! Healthcare has become a business, a corporate business, and the bottom line isn't healthcare, it's profits!

"Blue-dog" Democrats are nothing more than turncoat Zell Miller clones! They stopped healthcare reform during the Clinton Administration and look at what that got us, higher costs, health care dependent entirely on an insurance company's yea or nay. The Blue Dogs are poised to thwart healthcare reform all over again! The Blue Dogs are Democrats in name only; they're really Repuglicans in disguise so they could infiltrate the Democratic Party and cause havoc whenever and wherever they can!

From The Washington Monthly Political Animal by Steve Benen in an e-mail conversation with Bruce Bartlett, "I believe that political parties should do penance for their mistakes and just losing power is not enough. Part of that involves understanding why those mistakes were made and how to prevent them from happening again. Republicans, however, have done no penance. They just pretend that they did nothing wrong.... One reason this isn't happening is because the media don't treat Republicans as if they are discredited. On the contrary, they often seem to be treated as if they have more credibility than the administration. Just look at the silly issue of death panels. The media should have laughed it out the window, ridiculed it or at least ignored it once it was determined that there was no basis to the charge. Instead, those making the most outlandish charges are treated with deference and respect, while those that actually have credibility on the subject are treated as equals at best and often with deep skepticism, as if they are the ones with an ax to grind." There are some who recognize that there is NO LIBERAL MEDIA! Since America has become a profits over values country, the media aligns with big money and the crazies!

Are Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann actually twins separated at birth or simply two peas in a pod??? They're both media hogs, they both lie, they both seem to lack a sane mind, they both live in a bubble of unreality, they both say the most outlandish drivel in order to get publicity, they're both offensive, and both of them most certainly give the female gender a bad name!

The man who proclaimed he doesn't read from a script DOES -- Repuglican Senator Chuck Grassley (obviously reading from Repuglican talking points on healthcare) had this to say -- "Senator Grassley stated yesterday that people "[s]hould not have a government run plan to decide when to pull the plug on grandma. . . ." Grassley and Palin are liars, and both of them were actually for it before they were against it that also makes them HYPOCRITES! During the " Terri Schiavo" affair, "Grassley... voted to authorize direct federal involvement in an end-of-life medical decision -- something he currently claims to abhor." As for Ms. Palin, "Palin hasn't always been against end-of-life counseling. As Alaska governor, she signed a proclamation making April 16, 2008 -- Healthcare Decision Day -- with the goal to have health care professionals and others participate in a statewide effort to provide clear and consistent information about advance directives." And so it goes in this crazy world the Repuglicans have created!
