BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

The legacy of George W. Bush's lunacy goes on and on! "The New York Times reports today that when President Bush opens his library at Southern Methodist University in 2013, 'visitors will most likely get to see one of his most treasured items: Saddam Hussein's pistol.'" Bush was looking for "Weapons of Mass Destruction," but he only found a pistol!

"Palin, Quitting and Intellectual Honesty" Conservatives are incapable of critical thinking, they would rather accept what is served up as the truth no matter how confabulated. They live in a world of blind acceptance, a world of no questions, a fantasy world of puffed up comfort. There is no "balance" between lies and the truth, it's only the truth, and conservatives "can't stand the truth"! The sad part of the whole business of politics, is these conservatives are being handed a bill of goods by opportunists, whose bottom line is greed and the money they can make off the lies they tell!

Unfortunately a sad but true fact about the American politic on the radical right these days -- "What does it say about the nature of modern American politics that a public official who often seems proud of what she does not know is not only accepted but applauded? What does her prominence say about the importance of having (or lacking) a record of achievement in public life?" It would be wise indeed if the jumbled world of politics would take the advice of one who knows Sarah Palin well -- "Walter Hickel, 89, a former two-term governor and interior secretary, and the grand old man of Alaska politics, who was co-chair of Palin's winning gubernatorial campaign, in 2006, now washes his hands of her. He told me simply, 'I don't give a damn what she does.'"

"Former Bush White House official Karl Rove was questioned by House Judiciary Committee lawyers Tuesday on any role he may have played in politically motivated firings of U.S. attorneys." Justice will only be served when Karl Rove is "frog-marched, in handcuffs" to prison. The damage Rove, Bush, and Cheney have done to America is horrendous, no one in this country is above the law, and criminals no matter who they are should be prosecuted and punished.

"'You lose all your friends,' said Sullivan. 'You make enemies of everyone you used to hang out with. ... My traffic went down by 60 percent when I denounced the war, but it went back when those on the left thought I was one of them.'" Actually this should tell Andrew Sullivan and mainstream corporate media a thing or two about ratings! There are more "liberals" than there are radical wing nuts in America and liberals want a media that tells the truth and exposes the pathological Repuglican lies.

They're back, in all honesty they've never gone away, they've never stopped trying to force their religious beliefs down the throats of all Americans. "…the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops directly linked the likelihood of the success of healthcare reform with the abortion issue, insisting that 'no healthcare legislation that compels Americans to pay for or participate in abortion will find sufficient votes to pass.'" The "Bishops" might be surprised to find out, back in the day when the Federal Government financed a Public Health Family Planning Program, the three Registered nurses who manned the clinics were all Catholic. Having seen how the Catholic approved "rhythm method" for birth control never worked, all three nurses supported a woman's right to choose! Seems to me "choice" was given to all human beings when God gave us "free will." Frankly refusing healthcare to children whose families can't afford insurance, putting their health at risk is far worse than birth control and a decision for an abortion!
