BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

“Country First”, “USA, USA, USA.” Not hardly, Sarah Palin is another “ME FIRST” Repuglican who will say and do anything she can to bilk the American people even more than before!!!  “… earlier this year, Palin missed an opportunity to help the US mainland obtain billions of cubic feet of natural gas from Alaska's Cook Inlet.”  Ms. Palin supported “an effort by major energy producers to export the fuel to more lucrative markets in Asia”! So much for America first, and energy independence!

Hmm. “The report details the extraordinary lengths that Gov. Palin, largely through her husband Todd, went to get her ex-brother-in-law, a state trooper, fired because of personal family reasons.”  And then there’s this: “... the campaign has reacted with recriminations (the St. Petersburg Times reported that the Florida Republican Party chairman, after questioning Palin's aptitude, was told that he couldn't fly on her plane)” Nothing ever changes in the Repuglican world, intimidation and retaliation are all they know, and Sarah Palin is a master of vengeance and revenge! Bipartisanship, cooperation, coming together, democracy, country first, are all just some more Repuglican campaign rhetoric, theirs is a “my way or the highway” method of governing!  It will be 4 more years just like the last 8 years in America, because nothing ever changes when the Repuglicans are running our government!!!

Giving McCain Some Credit: If I thought John McCain meant what he said when he “flipped flopped some decency towards Obama,” I would be more than willing to give him some credit and thank him, but it is my firm belief he only did it because he or someone in his campaign finally realized the vehemence he was spewing was backfiring on McCain! All McCain has left in his bag of tricks is a “divide and confuse” tactic and he’ll be bringing up every lie and every political ruse he can think of just to bamboozle his base!!!

On this Columbus Day, I pause to wonder what Christopher would have to say about America today!  Are we going to stick with the “world is flat” status quo, or are we willing to venture forward with the refreshing change of something new and exciting?

One thing the Repuglicans have mastered is the art of staging; we are seeing and hearing the same old, same old re-enactment and rehashing rhetoric from campaign 2000 in 2008! The same old, same old people who supported the lies, the dishonesty, and the dishonorable presentations back then are out and about cheering it on all over again!  Somehow the last 8 years of war mongering, secrecy, corruption, torture and abuse, intimidation, job losses, debt, and plain downright stupidity wasn’t enough.  Apparently these people want 4 more years of the same, and that’s the shame of it all!

First we had Tom Brokaw, who was NBC’s self-proclaimed “McCain campaign liaison” as a debate “moderator”!  Here we go again, another “debate moderator” with a decided conflict of interest, Bob Schieffer, whose brother “John Thomas "Tom" Schieffer … is the current United States Ambassador to Japan and served as U.S. Ambassador to Australia from 2001 to 2005. Schieffer is a friend and former business partner of President George W. Bush”!  Do you really think “Bob” will be honest and objective in questioning the candidates or will he just be another journalistic prostitute?
