BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

This says it all: “MATTHEW ZENCEY, "ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS" (via phone): ... And in my humble opinion, she is less qualified than Dan Quayle.”

Choosing Sarah Palin for John McCain’s running mate just goes to show how little, those stuffed shirts, all white, bunch of radical Repuglican blow hards know about the intelligence of women in these United States! To think they would get the “Hillary” voters flocking to the Repuglican ticket simply because they are women voting for a woman was the dumbest political calculation ever made, but typical of the white males good ole boys group of Repuglican politicians!

* * *

Ranting on and on about the choice of a VP candidate the Repuglicans don’t “make cohesion” they simply make fools of themselves -- “KELLYANNE CONWAY, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: ... this wasn't just bold and fresh and vibrant and all that stuff … What it was really is a way to make cohesion in the Republican party … the fiscal conservatives, the social conservatives, the good government ethics people, all of whom had a problem with one or three of the candidates running in the primary. This is the first time everybody feels cohesive … If you really want to have a debate about experience, bring it on.”  Ahh the arrogance, “Bring it on”, where have we heard that supercilious statement before and what exactly did it bring on???

Cindy McCain on ABC Today: Palin Has National Security Experience Because Alaska Is Close To Russia”  “National Security Experience”???  “Because Alaska Is Close To Russia”???  Just goes to show the actual lack of intelligence of those on the radical right with presidential desires! If this isn’t George Bush all over again, then pigs really do fly! God help us all!!!

Whether John McCain vetted or didn’t vet Sarah Palin reveals a whole lot about HIS lack of judgment and good sense! This whole process has brought out McCain’s inability to understand the intricacies of any given situation, any situation in which he has to make critical decisions that affect these United States and the well being of all Americans! Choosing a Vice Presidential candidate is the most important decision a Presidential nominee makes during his campaign! John McCain’s penchant to give in to his most selfish desires is dangerous, his political ambition and his impulsive nature is hazardous for each and every one of us in today’s unsettled world!  We need a President who is ready, willing, and able to think things through, someone who has the intelligence to look at the details and envision the outcome, someone who puts good sense over political gain, someone who puts country before impulse, someone who believes America’s safety and security is more important than his own political ambition!!!  Vote Barack Obama in November!

It is amazing how those holier than thou, those pompous self-righteous pseudo-pious blow-hards who couldn’t and wouldn’t stay out of the Clinton’s private lives are now, and with a straight face no less, trying to stress the importance of personal privacy!  “BILL BENNETT, CNN CONTRIBUTOR: ... that first piece of attack of journalism … I've got to speak to … do not use the case of this child to start to beat up Sarah Palin. And to use this as an opportunity to make points for the Center for Reproductive Pregnancy. That was really out and out outrageous. That should not happen on CNN.  It shouldn't happen on CNN.”  “Attack Journalism” or another case of poor judgment!!!  First and foremost it was Sarah Palin herself that chose to discuss the private lives of her children, she made the decision to run for Vice President, she made the decision to put her children and all their indiscretions on display, she chose to fulfill her own ambitious political goals, she chose public office over privacy!  If Sarah Palin has any experience at all, she knows the spotlight she’s in, she knows that her life is no longer private and that’s the choice she, not CNN, made! It’s a terrible thing she’s done to her daughter!

“BENNETT: … Abstinence education I believe are the best programs are the most effective…abstinence works every time it's tried. They're absolutely right about that. That is a very strong position … We've got study after study.”  Are you sure Bill Bennett, are you sure “abstinence only” works????  Having worked in “Family Planning” for sometime, I can’t begin to tell you how many times I heard a young woman say, “My parents don’t know I’m here, they’d kill me if they knew, but I am too young to have a baby so I’ve come for birth control.”  Frankly these “teen-agers” are more responsible and certainly more honest than their mothers and fathers!  It was somewhat humorous and profoundly sad when at a PTA meeting, upon finding out I worked for Family Planning, a parent would say, “My daughter doesn’t need that”, especially when their daughter had been to clinic that same day for contraception!!!

How’s this for polls???  Seems when left up to the people, Repuglicans can’t even win an “unscientific poll”!!!!  Do you plan to watch the Republican National Convention? Yes, a lot -- 10%. Yes, some of it -- 29%. Not watching any of it -- 61%.  Seems when left up to the people, Repuglicans can’t even win an “unscientific poll”!!!!

Just remember, “ZENCEY : ... She is going to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.”

“Group Headed by James Dobson Asks Christians to Pray for Rain at Obama Speech -- Stuart Shepard's video asked everyone to pray for God to smite Denver with ‘abundant rain, torrential rain ... flood-advisory rain.’"  My grandmother always told me, “Be careful what you ‘pray’ for, because you just might get it!!!  It seems to me when offering up a prayer it should be for the well being of whoever and whatever it is you are praying for, otherwise it could end up back-firing on you!  My prayers of late have been for the Gulf Coast, for New Orleans and all the cities in the path of Gustov, I prayed for the people who had to leave their homes, I prayed for the people who had to stay, and I prayed that the damage would be minimal!  Thoughts, words, deeds, and prayers most always have a way of affecting us all in one way or another for better or for worse depending on the manner in which it was given!!!  How anyone who professes to be a Christian could pray for hate-filled desire, ill will and strife, madness and mayhem is beyond me!!!!
