BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

CNN ignored evidence of GOP obstructionism, allowed McConnell to attack Dems. Wolf Blitzer, Dana Bash, et al. at CNN have been “suck-ups” to the Repuglicans ever since George Bush managed by way of the Supreme Court to steal the office of the presidency!  Their unadulterated worship of all things Repuglican has been obvious for some time now!  Blitzer, Bash, and their ilk can only be categorized as info-taint-ment programming.

Obviously Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, and Hugh Hewitt haven’t been watching CNN of late!  Seems they think, “CNN and Youtube are biased against Republicans.” Actually they really are afraid of everyday people and the questions they would ask regarding the future of American democracy!  These Repuglican “yes men” cannot answer the people honestly and still maintain their allegiance to the Repuglican Party!

Oh would there be a few more members of Congress with the same courage and conviction, the same integrity of Senator Russ Feingold.  Perhaps if there were, America wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in today!!! “FEINGOLD: The only stunt that's going on here is by Republicans in the Senate who have continued to fabricate excuses for this Iraq war, year after year. They have been enablers of this tragedy. They have not shown the guts to stand up, in most cases, and vote to end this war. They will use every excuse, every slogan, every political trick to not let us end this war. So I would call that the stunt. And that's the stunt that's killing Americans …”

To all those, including mainstream corporate media, that have aided and abetted the madness of George Bush, I am reminded of that rather famous poem describing “the dangers of political apathy”: “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.” Hmm, putting this into a present day context and remembering all the Bush “executive orders,” how long do you think we have????

America owes Joe Wilson a debt of gratitude!  He stood up a true patriot, when he saw the lies being perpetrated by those appointed not elected to lead this nation!  Joe and his wife Valerie were subjected to a devastating attack on their character, their integrity, and their livelihood by the same liars and cheats who were hell bent on an illegal, unnecessary war, a war that has resulted in the deaths of close to 4000 American soldiers, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis!  A war that has inflamed the entire Middle-East, a war that has made the whole world a more dangerous place.  Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, thank you for exposing the liars and the cheats, thank you for your service, thank you for the truth, and thank you for being true Americans!

How can anyone believe “that Tillman's death at the hands of his comrades was a friendly-fire accident.”?  When “the bullet holes were so close together that it appeared the Army Ranger was cut down by an M-16 fired from a mere 10 yards or so away.”

Specter to probe Supreme Court decisions.  Of course “their reversal of several long-standing opinions conflicts with promises they made to senators to win confirmation.”  And don’t count on Senator Arlen Specter, the man who championed their confirmation, to deliver an unbiased review of Roberts' and Alito’s testimony.  These guys were bought and paid for by George Bush and their task is only to do his bidding!!!  If anyone really believed these guys would be anything more than George Bush “yes men,” then Fantasy thy name is Congressional Senators!

Obama’s answer to that now infamous question regarding talking to our enemies was right on, it was a straight answer to a direct question -- no nuances, no spin, no political mumbo jumbo and for that he is to be commended!  In trying to appear sophisticated and experienced, Hillary Clinton’s answer seemed to be more of the same Washington double-speak we so often hear from long-term politicians!  And the whole thing seems to be another frivolous non-story mainstream media likes to jump on so they don’t have to spend time on what’s really wrong with George Bush and the Bush administration!
