BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE  

"When asked about former CIA Director George Tenet's recent allegation that the White House never had a serious debate over whether Iraq posed an ‘imminent threat' to the United States, Rice did not answer directly. ‘This was a threat that needed to be dealt with, but it was the totality of the picture against Saddam Hussein that led the president to the decision that he made,' Rice said." Remembering this is the same woman who painted the picture of a "mushroom cloud," how does anyone believe anything coming out of her mouth? Rice acknowledged that "there will always be some uncertainty" in determining how close Iraq may be to obtaining a nuclear weapon but said, "We don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." Five years later, it's just some more of the same old, same old, same war, same familiar faces, same lies, and same waste of televised time! Impeach the whole lot of them!

How is it that Rove/Bush/Cheney/Rice and all the rest of the loyal Bushies, how is it that these people can lie with such a straight face??? How is it they have no shame??? How is it that mainstream corporate media so blatantly supports their lies??? It's not the right to choose, nor is it civil rights, it isn't even Hollywood that's changing the morals and the values of America! It is the examples set by the liars in the White House, by the loyalists in the Bush administration, the Repuglican members of Congress, and mainstream corporate media! A partisan Repuglican political virus has assaulted our government, and this Repuglican plague has spread throughout the nation! Signs and symptoms; the "end justifies the means" mind-set, corruption, a disrespect for the law and the Constitution, lies and subterfuge, plotting and scheming, war rather than peace, a callous disregard for the human condition and human life! Prognosis; dangerously lethal for "freedom and democracy"!

Talk about "artificial timetables" -- "President George W. Bush said on Tuesday that U.S. commanders likely will be able to gauge by September whether or not the troop buildup in Iraq is succeeding" ... "I think (Petraeus) would tell you that in September he might have a pretty good feel for whether or not it made sense or not." The illegal, preemptive unnecessary war in Iraq has never made any sense -- how many Septembers will it take, how many have to die before it's enough? Perhaps a little wisdom could be gleaned from what some call "higher" intelligence -- "a fool is arrogant and careless, the stupidity of fools misleads them, the foolishness of fools is deceit, the folly of fools is foolishness, leave the presence of a fool." One certainly should never ever continue following the fool into his folly!

Scott Ritter was all over the place with the truth, Joe Wilson came forward with the truth, Richard Clarke came forward, Paul O'Neill came forward, so why didn't the man, George Tenet, who could have put a stop to, or at least a bump in the road on, this march to hell, why didn't Tenet come forward way back before more than 3300 American soldiers died and thousands of innocent Iraqis were slaughtered?

Well Duhhhh!! It didn't take a CIA agent to analyze this: "Tenet: Iraq targeted before 9/11 ... Intelligence manipulated to support war on Saddam, former CIA director says in soon-to-be-released book." This is not news to some of us, we knew it way back when, we spoke out, and Repuglicans accused us of being unpatriotic! The plan to attack Iraq was spelled out on the PNAC website, all one had to do was read it, it was a virtual roadmap! The question becomes, why the hell didn't you, George Tenet, speak up when it may have done some good??? Why were you silent when you sat behind Colin Powell at the U.N.? Why were you silent when this administration was about the business of "outing" one of your agents, Valerie Plame? Why exactly did you allow George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Don Rumsfeld, and the rest of the Bush boys and girls to vilify the CIA?

Given all the goings on over at the Justice Department, one could reasonably ask the question, who exactly was the U.S. Attorney that "cleared former Senator Bill Frist" regarding the "probes over the timing of his 2005 sales of all his family's stock in HCA Inc."??? What are this U.S. Attorney's political persuasions? A rational conclusion is that every decision made in this Justice Department can no longer be trusted!
