Cindy Sheehan: Mistakes, Mismanagement and MoveOn Slowly Bleeding to Death

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Cindy Sheehan

Senator John McCain: "We are paying a very heavy price for the mismanagement - that's the kindest word I can give you - of Donald Rumsfeld, of this war. The price is very, very heavy and I regret it enormously."

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton: "I take responsibility for my vote. It was a sincere vote based on the facts and assurances we had at the time. Obviously I would not vote that way again if we knew then what we know now."

Imagine a 2008 presidential race with the above two as our major candidates. One who is a supporter of the invasion/occupation of Iraq who thinks it has been "mismanaged" and one who is a supporter of the invasion/occupation of Iraq who was fooled by the crafty, super-genius George Bush.

Imagine a grieving mother whose son or daughter has been killed in Iraq hearing a Pentagon report that calls the manipulated Doug Feith (famous PNAC supporter and former Deputy War Minister) intelligence that led to her child's death, not a crime, but "inappropriate." Imagine this same grieving mother having to hear these two candidates for their political party's nomination play politics with their child's life that was cut tragically short by unrepentant murderers.

John McCain "regrets" that Donald Rumsfeld mismanaged the war and notes that he will go down in history as the worst War Minister of the ages, but doesn't regret his former support of the same man, or his support of George Bush who will go down as the worst "war preznit" in history and who defamed, lied, libeled, and slandered John McCain in 2000.

Hillary Clinton thinks she is doing her campaign a favor by saying her vote to give George Bush authority to invade Iraq was a mistake, but she won't apologize for it. Imagine a grieving mother who lies awake at night longing for her "mistakenly" killed child who would be alive if instead of cheerleading for a tail-wagging-dog foray into Iraq that could have been avoided if only Ms. Clinton had taken the lead in the Senate denouncing the Bush Regimes lies instead of pretending to believe them.

MoveOn.org, which I recently learned was the American "anti-war" movement, is not calling for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, but favors a "slow bleed" strategy. MoveOn will not call for de-funding the war because they don't want to be perceived as "anti-troop" when we all know that the Reich-wing has never supported our troops. The 21,500 troops who are going to be surged into Baghdad will not even have body armor until this summer. Hopefully, they can dodge the bullets and shrapnel until summer, or until MoveOn wakes up and realizes that the only way to support our troops in the field is to bring them back to the States so they don't have to worry about body armor, clean water, or edible food.

Imagine a mother in Iraq who cannot go to the marketplace to buy groceries, which are becoming scarcer by the day, because she is worried about being blown up. Imagine a mother in Iraq who cannot send her children to school or out to play for fear of the same fate befalling them. Imagine a mother in Iraq who feels helpless because the U.S. Congress is having meetings with MoveOn, who wants her country to slowly bleed to death and is not listening to the true U.S. anti-war movement, such as Military Families Speak Out, Veterans for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, or Gold Star Families for Peace that have been calling for an immediate withdrawal of troops for almost four years now.

Imagine a mother whose child is deployed to this highly mismanaged mistake of a war. Imagine her going through the motions of living each day fearing a visit or phone call that will confirm her worst fear. Imagine this same mother staring at the moon every night when she should be sleeping, fervently praying for her child, and wondering what he/she is doing right now.

Imagine the tens of thousands of mothers who have to nurse a physically or emotionally wounded child back to health. Hoping and praying that the next trip to the VA will finally be successful. Imagine that same mother whose child was never able to get help burying her boy after he was found hanging in the basement.

Our country's treasury and human treasure are bleeding to death while MoveOn is constantly pestering its members for money for its "stay the course" strategy and while Senators, who should be in DC making up for their horrifying mistakes and working on de-funding Bloody George's addiction to war, are out trying to fund presidential bids.

A slow bleed strategy is amazingly immoral and the people who are doing the actual bleeding don't have the last names of Clinton, McCain, Pelosi, Reed, Parisier or Mazzie.

May the Universe help us if these two candidates are our only two choices in Nov. 2008 and may the Universe preserve us from MoveOn and their right-of-center support of hawks and their abandonment of its prey.

Bring our troops home now.

Support the Neo-Nazi troops of America!

...yeah, if you are a pervert, a rapist, a child abuser, a murder or a thieve - join the American forces and get promoted for acts they put you in jail in the US.

I'm now very proud what our German Wehrmacht did! They just comitted no crimes but collateral damages. They didn't kill at all - they freed people and human being from the burden of life.

Sounds, great to you? That is what the support the troops crowd is doing to humanity!

Face your war crimes America and stop dreaming.

We must stand as one...

Attacking our own is not productive. MoveOn.org has done wonderful work. If their position is too PC for someone than pull your support from that organization. For us to be in-fighting is counter productive in my opinion.

What makes progressives what we are is our ability to have differing views and still come together.

The time for impeachment is now! I can see no other way to bring our troops home. The Republicans in Congress are posturing for their constitutents and blocking any serious debate.

Gore/Clinton 2008.

So, Move On;

Move Over. And move our troops OUT NOW!

All Of Us Out In The Streets = Troops Out Now

And it'll be as easy as it was for those totally peaceful mass mobilizations to topple Communism in Eastern Europe two decades ago. Best of all it's a do-it-ourselves endeavor, meaning that neither politicians nor MoveOn will be needed. So put out the call, Gold Star Families for Peace, and then our troops are as good as home and hallelujah, amen. . .

It's ashame ...

It's a real shame when you have so-called progressive sites acting no better than the war-mongers they profess to protest against. It leads one to think that they too may just be fronts for the same corporations that control the MSM.

There were hundreds of millions of people that saw right through the bullshit that didn't have the access to the information these so-called experts were suppose to have. How is it that all these millions of ordinary people were right and the politicians were so blinded by an obvious liar? I mean, it's not like bush ever had a reputation for telling the truth to begin with, so why, in a matter as serious as war would they give him a pass?

No, it's getting to the point I don't trust Buzzflash, Moveon, Huffington or any of the so-called more popular progressive sites anymore then I do FOX.

Stop the Bleeding

We must keep pressure on Congress to end this bloody occupation and bring our troops home NOW!
