The National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express this week over how to handle racist views. Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams decided that it was time for them to be honest about their racism and to come out of the closet and say what they really mean. And Mark did so by writing a satirical letter to President Abraham Lincoln about what "colored people" want.

No No No says the National Tea Party Federation. You don't call them "colored people". That's highly offensive. You have to respect them by calling them "people of color". This is an election year and the National Tea Party Federation, made up of former Republican leaders like Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, understand that overt racism doesn't win elections. Their position is to hide the racism, stay in the closet, and be politically correct. Don't say what you really think. So the National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express because they refused to lie about how they really feel.

The Republican Party completely understands that there is a difference between what you do and what you say. The Republicans get it! They have a persn of color, Michael Steele, as the Republican National Committee Chairman. And even though Mr. Steele had a little problem with RNC money paying to take a group of Christian conservatives to a lesbian bondage themed sex club, Mr. Steele keeps his job; possibly sending a message to the political left that there might be a place for affirmative action in the Republican Party.

So who is right? Do voters respect honesty or is it that smart politicians understand that you have to tell the voters what they want to hear. I say, they both are right. Honesty and sincerity is what wins elections. That's what the public wants. So once you learn how to fake sincerity and honesty, you have it made!

There is little difference between Republicrats and Demopublicans. They only differ when they talk about social hot buttons. They still vote the same. There is no difference. The Democrats and the Republicans are wholly owned subsidiaries of the US Chamber of Commerce. Corporations now write our laws and YOU, tax paying citizen, are getting screwed over and over and over because YOU, the tax paying citizen keep returning the same corporate theives to Washington. When is enough enough?

We need to end their control. If you want more of the same, vote for the same political whores that brought us to the peak of prosperity that I'm sure you lare enjoying now. Congress is filled with corporate whores. Ir's time to de-elect all of them.

If you want REAL change, stop voting for Democrats AND Republicans! Vote the same, get the same.

The last true Republican was Dwight Eisenhower ( or maybe Evert Dirkson). That was in the '60s.

What we have today is a criminal cabal, composed almost entirely of corporate crooks posing as politicans.

Even though we (nominally) have a Democrat in the White House and Democratic majoriries in the House and Senate, the corporate criminal cabal runs the show, controls the "press", and keeps us in an endless state of "war", for fun and profit.

If we wern't so deeply immersed in this grotesque situation and so goddam meek and submissive, we may just have a more objective view of the fact of our fast-fading democracy.

We gave the world a priceless idea, that of equality before the law, but what we have now is inequality and lawlessness, while Europe Japan, Singapore, and other nations have seized this idea and actually DONE something with it, while leaving us in the dust.

Here's to the late lamented United States of America.

Barak Obama is a corporate whore. It's easy to see. He has surrounded himself with corporate whores. He said lot's of nice things when he wanted a higher paying job. When he got that job, he turned his back on US and did exactly what Wall Street told him to do.

I hope a real Democrat or Independent will challenge him in 2012. I won't stay home then or this year but I won't be voting for the Demopublicans either.

Republicans have no soul and Democrats have no spine. It's time to vote different.

purity or efficacy?

You may be right, SpikeHeels, but I don't think your prescription will work yet: things have not become bad enough for the ignorant masses to start challenging the powers-that-be, which is essential for real change to be possible. Obama probably could not buck the system if he wanted to, as the corporations still do a good job of controlling the perceptions of the masses: they can easily use their ubiquitous media/propaganda machine to make things up to destroy a presidency (they did it to Clinton, who responded by getting on his knees.) I think the more promising and immediately effective solution is for the true left to keep destroying Republicans, attacking the mainstream media relentlessly (we don't do enough of this), and taking over the Democratic party (if insane dipsh&ts can take over one party, why can't principled, intelligent and devoted people take over the other?) The system is very well rigged against third parties and it will take another great depression or worse for that route to be effective. I don't think we should wait for that anyway, and going to a third party now would only waste our energies and solidify the corporate fascism that is strangling our democracy. I would rather be effective than slavish to principle and perversely counterproductive.

On a separate note, I disagree with the title of the original article: the only thing Republicans do well is trick ill-informed (and otherwise weak-minded people) into voting for them--and then letting the richest of the rich run roughshod over everyone. Given the nature of our society, that works very well. We have to be smarter to have any hope of prevailing in the long run.
