Cut, Paste, and Waste --The GOP and Their Right Wing's Idea of Democracy

In other words, US law in US government and elections free from the burdens of having to be rich or wealthy in order to be heard.

The last 30 to 40 years of US government should have been a wake-up call for many of us Americans. What does it take for the citizens of this country to realize that most members of all three branches of US government probably think we have the denseness of the rock of Gibraltar?

We finally get healthcare that is not what the people wanted, yet, the Bush GOP screams and yells, even those who would benefit. Do they not understand that the US, a country that is supposed to look like a leader around the world, falls short of the healthcare found in Great Britain, Canada, or France? Of course they do. Then we come to Wall Street reform, and it too, does not go far enough and still the Republicans scream, stomp and throw tantrums.

What Americans have to understand is that those screams and tantrums are the only way the Bush GOP celebrates their victories against US Democracy and the people of this nation.   However, in many instances, those loud voices are not just tantrums, they are calls for violence. Innocent calls of course, (cough) and I was born yesterday. We have had constant threats of violence over the years coming from the voices of highly paid GOP TV and radio personalities, and they are treated as if nothing is wrong. Does no one in this country, including all three branches of government, remember the sixties and how many great Democrats were assassinated during those years?  

One day, a Republican operative offers $100 to anyone who'll punch me in the nose.
The next day, I get a death threat. After Fox News spewed its usual clownish hatred about me yesterday, my office received a call. The caller told our receptionist - a young intern - that "10 people are going to kill the Congressman within 24 hours." We gave the information to the Capitol Police; they are investigating.
Fox. You'd think that they would have learned their lesson after Dr. George Tiller was killed. And they did learn a lesson: a lesson in killing.  (See  Death threat claims 10 people will kill Grayson - WDBO Local News on wdbo.com .) 

Thugs use violence to silence their adversaries. Thugs use war for profit. How long before most American citizens will understand that this Bush GOP is not the Republican Party of years ago.  Don't get me wrong, they love US democracy, but only if they can dictate how that democracy shall work. And, they understand something else, to get that power, they have to have 100% cooperation or votes by those who are supposed to serve the people of this nation.  

We never hear rants about racism or immigration coming from the GOP unless they want something. Remember the conservative Clarence Thomas? One of the five who put Bush into the White House in 2000? You can read all about Justice Thomas in "The Secret Lives of the Supreme Court," by Robert Schnakenberg, 2009.   My guess is, if Clarence Thomas had been a Democrat, he never would have been appointed or approved to serve on the Supreme Court. Who appointed him? George H. W. Bush. You know, Clinton's father figure, as we heard from Bush number one's own words.  

We keep hearing from the GOP and from the teabaggers how worried they are about where this country is going. They weren't worried when the Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld regime lied this country into an invasion/occupation into Iraq. And, since when is it okay to invade another country because they have WMD? They did not attack the US. We, the US, have the largest stash in the world, along with over 800 military bases that this country supports, but the only ideas the Bush GOP can come up with when our budget is in trouble, is to cut programs from the poor and middle-class of this nation. Cut out advantages for the small businesses. With these type of cuts, the people of this nation will be prevented from advancing, which is the whole idea.  

We never heard any member of the Bush GOP for eight long unelected, but selected years complain about the debt, the hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of deaths of unarmed innocent people, or the destruction of two countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, or complaints about the war against the freedom of individuals in this country, the so-called Patriot Act. What an act they put on, but plenty of us Americans were never fooled, and many of those Americans were arrested for trying to save this country from its self-destructive patterns of insane behavior seen in US government.  

We never heard any member of this Bush GOP, including their Right Wing, get angry over the tax breaks for the wealthy in this country. Many years ago, under the Reagan/Bush regime, a millionaire told me that he had 'never' paid any taxes and that he never would pay any taxes. Americans should realize that the wealthy have many avenues to get away from paying taxes without our government giving them added tax breaks.   

Then Boehner stands up for the media and has the obtusity to keep repeating the same ole thuggish GOP perception of most of us Americans and that is, that we would rather collect a few dollars a week from unemployment, than have good jobs, jobs that would give back the so-called American dream for US families that has become, under our own government, a living, hell of a nightmare. They couldn't have planned it better. Belching up the Reagan/Bush GOP eighties again. Cut everything that the American people need. Why do we not have good jobs in this country?Try investigating that.  

NAFTA, CAFTA and tax cuts for the wealthy, surely they help to keep the American people down and under? Every citizen in this country deserves a job, education, health care and a future to look forward to, and we would have that except for the lack of the unselfish, patriotic, good judgements made by our own employees (not all member in Congress) in all three branches of government since Nixon.  American citizens should feel insulted by many of the GOP candidates running for office. You only have to have the minimum average intelligence to understand that Palin or the woman running in Nevada against Reid, have no idea of how to work for the people of this country in US government. But, they do understand how to work for the Bush GOP and the "take all" Right Wing of that Party. Maybe they would have learned more if they had better examples. Reid and Pelosi are not my favorite leaders of the people either. Even knowing what the Bush GOP had done to this country, Pelosi kept impeachment off her table, and Reid is just too nice and friendly. We never hear from those Democrats who really do stand up for US democracy and stand up against Congressional hypocrisy. Most MSM don't find those stories news worthy.  

This will continue until Americans decide that they have had enough of this abuse. Isn't thirty years of debt, death, and destruction enough, with the added gall of making the American citizens responsible for these crimes . . . we have children growing up and dead before they have begun to live because of the policies of the GOP and US government. Dead in a military that was never needed. Dead because US military was the only job and the only hope they had to get an education in order to grab that famous 'American dream," that they hear about all during their years of youth. Only to be found dead. Dead before any of their own dreams realized. Just Dead. These are great losses for their families and for this country, and these deaths, under the Bush regime, were kept from the eyes of the public. Don't ask don't tell. Another insult. Giving up one's life for this country, having to follow orders under a criminal regime, and that same treasonous government kept that death a secret, and a person has to lie about who he/she is. And, this was continuously allowed, and still is?  

Why do many Americans think that anyone serving in US government should have a very pricey education. Eh? They don't use it. Plenty of examples:   Remember how the Bush GOP treated Clinton? Did anyone pay for the false investigations for all of those years? President Clinton, some good, some bad, some ugly, but if he were really a champion for the citizens of this country, I don't think Bush number one would be talking to him, much less telling all of us that he is actually a father figure to Bill Clinton. Kinda gives one goose bumps doesn't it, or it should. Why? Because we need the Democrats to stand for something, for democracy and for right and wrong, for justice. Another reason that too many of our members of Congress have been up there and at it many, many years too long. We don't need those kind of friends if all they want to do is pilfer, war, and destroy our government, and then punish the people for what they, themselves, have done.  

How should we feel when President Obama and the Democrats in Congress took away the funding from an organization that always did such great work for the poor and such great work in getting people to care about doing their part in voting during US elections. Why did those Democrats in Congress do this without any investigation? It's not like they (members in Congress) didn't know the thuggish GOP by reputation. So why did they react immediately because of what their abusive GOP fellow congressmen said? Eh? Then, even after they found out the GOP's pimpish ruse, was refunding re-established to ACORN, plus interest? No, not yet, not to my knowledge.   

Now we come to this Shirley Sherrod business, where tapes were cut and pasted and then she was fired and smeared. Did the Obama administration, knowing this was coming from the same thugs of the GOP who smeared ACORN and that same group that has America's poor and middle-class in their gun rights and sights, no, they fired this woman without any investigation. If we could only get rid of the Bush GOP and the leaning right DLC in this Obama administration that easily. Sorry Democrats, it's not what these people say, it's what they have done. Their actions. Gay rights. Don't ask, don't tell, and those immigration problems with Mexico have been going on since the sixties in this county. Yes, the sixties. They only bring it up when they want to split the population. People would not risk their lives for jobs in this country unless it was to save their lives by coming here. This country and some of our people have a whole hellava lot of growing up to do.  

I think most all Americans believe in justice, however, I guess if citizens preferred not to think about this too much or to care, they might, mistakenly, come to the conclusion that the Obama administration is very law abiding and 'straight-laced.' And, we all want this to be true. If that is so, then why haven't we seen anyone in this Congress or this administration seek justice for all of the GOP, Bush/Cheney/.Rove/Rumsfeld, bodies buried in Iraq and Afghanistan, or justice for those flag-covered coffins that keep arriving here at home. ACORN and Sherrod didn't lie this country into two invasions/occupations and kill over a million people and displace three to four million fellow citizens around this world. Sherrod and ACORN didn't withhold information from American airlines or the citizens of this country when warned before 911. Bush/Cheney/Rove did that. Oh, they did tell some people not to fly.

When I first read this poem, it expressed exactly the way I feel about how US democracy will die. We can yell, protest, scream and yet our own way of life, our own democracy will be gone, dead in the path of GOP Right Wing nut thought, before we hear it or feel it or see that it is completely gone, dead. Stone dead.   People today get fired for giving innocent opinions on the Internet, yet, nothing is ever done to those who have used propaganda, out and out lies, hate-filled speeches and violent threats, but if you are a Democrat with the ideas that belong to a living, breathing, democracy . . . that is not what the Bush GOP and their Right Wing fanatics cry out for.

They despise education, science, healthcare for the rest of this country . . . all of which should be free if the US really was the country we wished it to be. Instead they promote the use of military and money, which means they "buy" people. Slavery has never left this country, at least the thought behind it. And, if they (Bush GOP)get elected again, it will be a drama replayed . . . cuts to the middle-class and poor, paste up whatever rights they think only they deserve, and the waste of innocent lives through more war which brings this nation . . . debt, death, and destruction, and more profits and power for them.  

How many more generations of this kind of trauma can happen and expect our democracy to continue to survive? The answer is "O." I still say and it seems to run true today, that millionaires cannot possibly work for the other 99% of this country because they have no idea what this country needs. How could they. All they have is the money to get elected and buy themselves a job. To them, it's all about the money, the power to get more money. Democracy will die and the greed seed will continue to thrive and multiply.    At times, I get the feeling that Obama just wants to be President (a presidency without making waves . . . of course, that doesn't include the Democrats of this nation because  we want them to get out and continue to vote Democratic or we lose this war) and he and Clinton can tour the world, giving speeches for the rest of their wealthy lives (Where did the Clinton earn enough money to purchase land worth 11 million? Not on a presidential or speaking salary, the GOP doubled the Presidential salary before Bush was put into the White House by our so-called Supreme Court - coincidence?) I would guess, and this week, if ones chooses to listen to our MSM, they want to make the Clinton wedding into royalty. I don't believe in royalty ruling a country . . . just because of a person's birth, that should give them privilege and position?

Democrats always seem to be put on the defensive by the criminal Bush GOP, and I'll never understand why, when they have done nothing wrong. A healthy democracy allows anyone their say (it's called freedom of speech and also, the freedom of worship, Right Wingers) as long as it is healthy debate instead of lies, insults, and words of violence against anyone they disagree with.  A healthy democracy should result in the demands of responsibility and justice. In other words, US law in US government and elections free from the burdens of having to be rich or wealthy in order to be heard.
