Tom Wieliczka: We Are Inspired Again

After eight terrible years, We can finally feel like an American again. The Constitution that represents our government was shredded during the past eight years. It will get re-instated in full on 1/20/2009.

The days of an inept president who lied us into war are over. We will now witness a president-elect who will get us out of an unneeded war while getting the thug who attacked us seven long years ago. The days of getting into "stupid wars" are over.

The days of not providing our brave soldiers the needed weapons while they are in battle are over. The days of mistreating our brave soldiers who get wounded are over. The days of our soldiers having to fight for their VA benefits are over.

The Constitution's preamble, "WE the people", came to life during the Obama campaign. It was WE, as a small but growing group of people that formed. It was WE, who went house to house, e-mail address to e-mail address, small donation by small donation, and worked for the same cause to get Barack Obama elected President, because of everything he stood for.

We can finally feel that the President is going to make bold moves for the 21st Century, with energy independence of all types coming forth. We will no longer have the Middle East holding a gun to our heads. In the same way that JFK inspired our nation to boldly go to the moon in less than 10 years, President Obama will inspire our nation to create new car energy technology, new house heating technology, and new clean power technology. These will be the new jobs of the future.

We can finally see more houses in towns throughout the country with SOLD signs on them, instead of the word FORECLOSURE in the sign.

We can finally read that more people are working again, due to all the government initiated projects, to get all of us off our backs and onto our feet by building new roads, new bridges, and the laying of new broadband technology to schools and rural areas.

We can finally see money staying in our bank and stock accounts, instead of disappearing into thin air, due to the re-regulation of banks and securities firms.

We can finally see water starting to get cleaner and carbon dioxide emissions start to drop, through environmental re-regulations and an administration that cares.

We can finally see more young students telling their teacher that they want to be President of the United States some day and demanding that he or she give them the best education in the world. They will all see endless possibilities in their future.

We can finally see parents of students throughout the country, shutting off the television and taking away the games, until their children's homework is done. We can see parents getting more involved, by going to PTA meetings to see how their children are doing in school.

We can finally see a healthcare plan that treats every condition, both new and pre-existing. The days of emergency rooms being used as a "primary physician" are over. The days of "doughnut holes" are over. The days of preventative care for all are starting.

We can finally feel proud in a foreign country again or tell a foreigner that we are American, without being mocked, due to the new White House occupant.

And lastly, we can finally feel real proud of our president, as he strikes us with inspiration during his speeches. We will no longer have to listen to a "C student" talk ineptly to us.

Yes, the days of "above the law," "fear mongering," and "ineptness" are over.

The days of "audaciously inspired leadership" have begun.
