Obama vs. Clinton, Round ... ?
THE FIFTH COLUMNIST by P.M. Carpenter
Although a trifle slow on the uptake, the Obama campaign is finally striking back. "Finally" may seem like an unsuitable word to use in the context of only a few days, but a few days in presidential campaigning can be tantamount to a geologic epoch in which evolutionary changes, Hobbesian-like, are swift, nasty and brutish.
Whatever illusions Barack Obama once held about pursuit of the highest office permitting elevated debate should by now be tidily tucked away. Front-runner status carries with it several character-assassination attempts per day, and eventually the candidate sees that instead of just ducking, survival calls for some rather inelegant shooting back.
As the New York Times reported yesterday, "Flying from Texas back home to Chicago on Wednesday morning, Mr. Obama delivered the message that he intended to counterpunch forcefully." We soon heard more intent than punch, but that appeared to be but the set-up before the shattering blows.
Said Obama: "[Hillary Clinton has] made the argument that she’s thoroughly vetted, in contrast to me. I think it’s important to examine that argument." Old habits die hard. He meant "crush," not examine.
The first item on his to-do-in list is the matter of Clinton's still mysteriously absent tax returns, with Obama aides now calling for the release of at least those from 2006. But of course it's the returns from 2007 that are of even greater interest to the conscientious goo-goo types, given Hillary's whopping $5 million self-bailout last month.
The Clintons are saying wait till April 15 -- for the 2006 returns. Whether the Obama camp gives quarter on this to the Clinton camp -- something the latter would assuredly deny the former -- remains to be seen, but of the funny business in delaying year-old returns there is no doubt.
And speaking of mysterious hard cash and its provenance, Frank Rich not so long ago reminded us of this: "Asked by Tim Russert at a September debate" -- September, and still hanging -- "whether the Clinton presidential library and foundation would disclose the identities of its donors during the campaign, Mrs. Clinton said it wasn’t up to her. 'What’s your recommendation?' Mr. Russert countered. Mrs. Clinton replied: 'Well, I don’t talk about my private conversations with my husband, but I’m sure he’d be happy to consider that.' Not so happy, as it turns out. The names still have not been made public."
This is profitable territory to be mined by Obama, and hammered -- millions upon millions in possible backdoor influence buys from points around the globe, some of which might be calling at 3 A.M someday. Will they have greased the skids?
And still imprisoned in Hollinger boxes -- "secreted in the Clinton library," as Obama strategist David Axelrod put it -- are those thousands of cubic feet of Hillary's first lady records, screaming to come out and thereby inform us of her vast co-commander-in-chief activities. Among her "35 years of experience," these poignant eight are neatly and chronologically housed by the National Archives, and one would think Hillary would be beating those archivists over the head to facilitate our enlightenment.
"What exactly is this foreign experience that she’s claiming?" asked Obama with considered restraint -- considering. "I know she talks about visiting 80 countries. It is not clear. Was she negotiating treaties or agreements or was she handling crises during this period of time?"
Well, Mr. Obama, the answers are there -- right there in those snug, temperature- and humidity-controlled Hollinger boxes. Or, you can sit back and let Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson frame the issue for you: "Let me state it categorically: This party is not going to nominate somebody who hasn’t passed the commander-in-chief test."
Take that, Barack, right after you divine what "test" in God's name Mr. Wolfson is talking about. And, right after you question whether a such a tough, tested commander in chief in waiting shouldn't at least be capable of strong-arming her own papers in the possession of her own nation's archives.
The Clinton camp's recidivist secrecy is, for some, evidence enough of secrecy for sinister reasons. For nearly eight years progressives, above all others, have been adrift in fuming concern about the Bush administration's aggressive lack of transparency. That so many, now, are willing to give their own chosen candidate a pass -- as they have already done on Mrs. Clinton's utterly ignominious and treacherous war-authorization vote -- makes others wonder if progressives, in disheartening numbers, possess even an ounce more principle than those they have so emphatically berated for such good cause for so long.
It's true, as the New York Times cautioned through understatement in its coverage of Obama's new offense-defense stance, that he "retains significant advantages, including his lead among pledged delegates." The Times, without fear of overstatement, could have written, "virtually insurmountable lead."
But his nomination will go down much easier with all the party faithful if there's no question as to who dominated the primary schedule, and more important, that an allegiance to principle -- and the rejection of unprincipled betrayal -- was what actually prevailed.
To accomplish that, however, Obama will be forced to heed the old politically axiomatic warning about nice guys finishing last. It's a shame, but shameful or not, about that he must retain no illusions.

Then There's Rising Above The Fray
Clinton prevents release of documents on his sleazy pardons
As Bill Clinton was walking out the White House door, he issued a slew of reprehensible pardons for a bunch of corrupt and sleazy characters, including a pardon for billionaire and fugitive commodities trader Marc Rich. (Marc Rich's former wife and mother of his children, Denise Rich turns out to be a big donor to Clinton's Presidential library!)
In the face of increasing requests for the release of these documents, the Federal archivists at Clinton's Presidential Library have agreed with Clinton's request to block their release.
Also, check out this Huffington Report showing how Clinton earned $700,000 in dealings with a convicted felon backed by the Chinese government:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/07/bill-clinton-profits-from_n_90459.html
Guys, we've got to get all this information out. Even if we have to spread it by word of mouth. Corporate-owned media would rather run stories about Obama denying yet again that he's not a Muslim and no, he will NOT be roasting Christian babies and serving them at formal dinners in the White House.
It's up to us, because the MSM have gotten the message to lay off the Clintons and their dubious financial dealings.
Gary Hart on Clinton's treasonous conduct
Gary Hart has the following to say about America's Lady Macbeth, in his Huffington Post column today:
It will come as a surprise to many people that there are rules in politics. Most of those rules are unwritten and are based on common understandings, acceptable practices, and the best interest of the political party a candidate seeks to lead. One of those rules is this: Do not provide ammunition to the opposition party that can be used to destroy your party's nominee. This is a hyper-truth where the presidential contest is concerned.
By saying that only she and John McCain are qualified to lead the country, particularly in times of crisis, Hillary Clinton has broken that rule, severely damaged the Democratic candidate who may well be the party's nominee, and, perhaps most ominously, revealed the unlimited lengths to which she will go to achieve power. She has essentially said that the Democratic party deserves to lose unless it nominates her.
As a veteran of red telephone ads and "where's the beef" cleverness, I am keenly aware that sharp elbows get thrown by those trailing in the fourth quarter (and sometimes even earlier). "Politics ain't beanbag," is the old slogan. But that does not mean that it must also be rule-or-ruin, me-first-and-only-me, my way or the highway. That is not politics. That is raw, unrestrained ambition for power that cannot accept the will of the voters.
Senator Obama is right to say the issue is judgment not years in Washington. If Mrs. Clinton loses the nomination, her failure will be traced to the date she voted to empower George W. Bush to invade Iraq. That is not the kind of judgment, or wisdom, required by the leader answering the phone in the night. For her now to claim that Senator Obama is not qualified to answer the crisis phone is the height of irony if not chutzpah, and calls into question whether her primary loyalty is to the Democratic party and the nation or to her own ambition.
Hilary will regret going negative
Full State of Questionability, No Matter Who's Questioning!
Clinton "IS" as Clinton does! In that sense, she is QUITE transparent, in spite of herself! From what I "gather", she is extremely upset about caucus results because she thought she had that sewn up by reaching in through the dinosaurs of the DLC to the state level "party bosses". In those states holding a caucus instead of a primary, the party itself "owns" and conducts the voting process, and evidently, with no oversight. The "party faithful" (..to the DLC) then also COUNT the votes. With all the Repub election sleeze of the past several "elections", Dems, I guess, were supposed to feel so "protected" or "comfortable" about having the whole process in Dem party hands that no one would ever wonder about the results, much less question the process. It has been highly "questionable" all over the map, to say the least! The election protection/integrity groups have been overwhelmed by so much and by such pervasive need this time on "both sides", everywhere, for investigation! Still, though, evidently the Obama "movement" was stronger than expected and it didn't go as Clinton desired. You've just got to wonder WHAT is cooking under the surface....??? Is there some kind of deal that with Clinton to "elect" there would not be a false flag/martial law scenario needed to keep the same shadow gov. in power? Who KNOWS anymore, WHAT may lurk under the darkened surface!
I find this ALL very puzzling. There was such BLATANT, persistent, hard driven, even right out in public sight effort put out by the "corporate interests" to censor out, to get rid of all candidates not signed up with the corpratocratic agenda! The resulting corporate selection of candidates left us with Clinton and Obama as their approved choices from which they would allow us to "choose".
When Obama was first elected to the Senate, I thought we just might really have something there, and caught that phrase, "a breath of fresh air" passing through my mind a few times, yet it always seemed to acquire a question mark at the end on its way through. What seemed naivete at first morphed into increasing facility to parse and obfuscate, but, was he skating around other politicians, or the public? (or both?) When I saw the enthusiasm for AIPAC, and for supporting Israel no matter how wrong, no matter at what expense to the Palestinians, then the enthusiastic jumping in to reinforce the "Iran as a great danger to the US" hype, repeating the false "intel" propagandas against Iran as "facts" to stand on for further digressions, heartily joining his voice to the choruses of fearmongering Iran, of demonizing Iran, even adding a solo verse of his own periodically, one couldn't help but conclude that he was on that bandwagon of wartrumpers, well fueled by oilygarchs. Somehow, even then, it was a bit shocking when he joined in the grossly false propaganda against Hugo Chavez and Venezuela... Now, Venezuela is NOT a closed society, the Truth is rather readily available to anyone who wishes to look into it...
It was just several months ago that I learned that Obama was also, though yet a relative "newbie", a member of the CFR (Whereas the Clintons' memberships are well vetted as deeply ensconsed and fully established--at least H if not also B). There seemed to be some implication that Obama was being "courted" and "mentored" in while still in school, though if there were anything to that, I would still doubt that he had any idea WHAT it was about back then. (This, though, would certainly be something worth probing for those with such skills and capacities!)
My not educated enough guess is that Obama's natural, original propensity was at least TOWARD the progressive, and with idealism, perhaps some altruistic daydreams coloring suggestions of future possibilities. I think we can assume that he "had a heart". Where and when the darksiders might have begun quietly attaching little strings here and there is too obscured in "mystery". So too with when and how they may have begun, bit by bit and hint by hint at first, to clue him in. Before any sort of really significant disclosure to him though, they would have had some "goods" on him, with which to be "convincing"; something to hang heavy over his head, and especially while presenting pictures of future possibilities for "greatness".
The greatest, most compelling exclusion for the "darksiders" is "the heart". Any exercise of the "heart energy" is dangerous, could cause any one of them to slip and fall "upward". Some good scrutiny of these people as a group should bring it to one's attention quite noticeably that anything one could describe as "heartfelt" in their natures --is missing. It is anathema. They just cannot and must not go there!
So, with the adoring crowds projecting their hearts outward TO Obama everywhere he goes, there is probably some serious questioning from "the darksiders" of his "stability" to stay on course with THEIR course..... BUT---has he been 'playing' THEM all along??? Or, has he been 'playing' US all along??? Or did he get entangled before he knew it, only to have them then convince him he was already too compromised, like he'd "already sold his soul", thereby "securing" him as "theirs"??? ---until, that is, these adoring, heart-pumping crowds arrived on the scene????
Well, whatever we have there, it is all a big UNKNOWN! There is no telling from here from whence it came nor where it may go. With Clinton, what you see is what you get and anyone who knows anything real there, KNOWS not to go there! There is a gathered and yet gathering group consenus of knowing that there must NOT be a pres. Hillary or McPain! What we are left with then is a big question mark from which there is at least some possibility for Hope to emerge. Let those adoring crowds keep pumping their heartfilled adoration, don't put them down for it any more, ENCOURAGE it!-- for unless we can gin up a swooping, soaring write-in Kucinich campaign, what hope is there? Surely, in their darkened, inside-out 2 dimensional world, the darksiders are also full of questioning! They may be afraid to think of what blowback might be unleashed from those adoring masses should anything untoward happen to the object of that adoration, and well they SHOULD be! (There must be NO Clinton VEEP getting in there either!) Surely they thought they had this one all sewn up from all sides!!!! I do believe though that this is the "desperation" that has brought out such 'risky' lines as those just lately coming from the mouth of Hillary, proclaiming she and McPain are ready to be commander in chief......
Good Grief!!! We better hope there is something(s) we've not imagined yet up the sleeve of Serendipity!

MAKE WAR OBSOLETE
Preparing for a McCain-Clinton ticket
(This is a follow up of my comment on Hilliary Clinton repeatedly praising Republican candidate McCain as making a better Commander in Chief than her Democratic opponent.)
Last night, Bloomberg News columnist Margaret Carlson was a guest on Keith Olbermann's Countdown, where he asked, "Why the hell are you [Hillary Clinton] ranking John McCain ahead of any Democrat?" Why, Olbermann asked, is Clinton trying to throw the election to McCain if she loses to Obama?
Carlson, who has long covered the Clintons, pointed out that Bill recently boasted "what good friends Hilliary and McCain have become." She added: "It doesn't seem possible, but maybe they were laying the ground work [for this endorsement for some time]."
Carlson provided additional insight regarding the only answer Clinton's campaign staff was able to come up with when someone finally questioned Clinton's claim of years of experience handling international affairs. As the First Lady for eight years, Hilliary has been to 80 countries, they answered.
Carlson was able to vouch for that: "I was on some of those trips with Clinton. She really did have tea and cookies in those countries."
Olbermann also commented on Hillary's claim that, unlike Obama, she has the experience needed to be Commander in Chief. He pointed out that Laura Bush has just as much experience to be Commander in Chief as Hillary.
As usual, Olbermann nails it.
Another view
It might be that this is one of the threat cards Clinton is playing in her blackmail game to steal the Democratic nomination. In continuing to praise McCain over Obama, she's definitely sending the Democratic leadership a message.
That message appears to be either she gets the nomination or she will tear the Democratic house down on all their ears.
Evidence of her blackmail is even clearer today, following her statements yesterday that a "redo" vote in Michigan and Florida won't do. Democratic leaders are trying to find a way to hold a revote in early summer. But Clinton rejected that solution.
Although her name was the only one on the ballot in Michigan, she insists that those votes must be counted along with the votes in Florida.
Even more dismaying, I'm starting to see some Dem leaders starting to waiver. They're clearly intimidated by Clinton and I'm afraid they're going to so something stupid to try to appease her. One possibility might be a compromise, like giving her Florida if she allows a recount in Michigan.
If she still doesn't get the nomination, she still has the option to go Lieberman on the party and join McCain -- who she keeps praising above her Democratic opponent in no uncertain terms.
I didn't think such machinations could possibly work a few short weeks ago, but seeing some of the Democratic leadership begin to quiver before her demands and hinted threats, she may succeed in stealing the nomination, which will very likely throw the election to McCain.
They say people deserve the government they get. That really is not saying much about us.
Just Where Does She Get Off?
Oh Woe Is She
Oh Woe is He .. oh Woe is us ....
" Obama supporters, just like Obama, want to change everything to suit them. Be it delegates, re-do's, no to caucuses and on and on. The writing is on the wall only Obama refuses to see it. To stoop so low as to say that McCain and or Lieberman would make a better president than Hillary? To call Hillary a Monster? Shees! I've seen it all now.
To watch his campaign roll in the mud pit of covert negativity by way of his surrogotes and do it as well compliments of Rove/ BushCo. is sad and a little frightening. McCain should be easy to beat, so should've Bush, twice! If the Dems lose in November it'll be a direct result of Obama’s narcisssim, cloaked hubris and lust for power at all costs. Indeed, it would appear he would rather have it that way over a Hillary presidency - and that is just disgusting. He and his campaign have become unmasked and are shown to be ugly and disgusting in their tactics.
The Dems are the anti-fear party and here he is fear mongering and victim-baiting. The cries of racism, the cries of media favoritism, the blatant lies and mis-information. Is this really what we want? Divisiveness? Fear? For the love of all that is good and righteous in this world. Save us, Hillary, from this government of tyrants, war mongers, corporatists, elitists and liars. Hillary forever, Obama, not this time around! "
We need to stop this or, indeed, it will be the Democratic " Year of the Lemmings."Woe is He
You finally got something right.
"We need to stop this."
Yes we do. And the way to do this (once Obama wins a majority of delegates in the next state contests) is for the super delegates to finally put an end to Clinton's campaign of "it's either me or I'll make sure it's President McCain."
It's time for them to tell her to shut up and stop claiming the Republican presidential nominee is more qualified to be Commander in Chief than the leading Democratic candidate.
As Keith Olbermann asked last night with utter disdain and disbelief: "Why the hell are you [Clinton] ranking John McCain ahead of any Democrat?!"
Clinton needs to be told to either shut up or, like Sen. Lieberman, be kicked out of the Democratic Party (after he too endorsed Republican McCain).
Hilliary has reentered the Democratic candidate selection process with this explosive belt tied around her. She's demanding the nomination or else she'll blow the whole Democratic house up.
It's time for the super delegates and party leaders to put an end to her fear mongering and threats.
It's time for all progressives to say enough to Clinton's dirty politicking that must be making Karl Rove green with envy.
Shut Up is Right
It's Time to ...
recognize Billary as the bigoted, establishment-loving, racist, lying, thieving, Karl-Rovian, baby-killing, anti-American, puppy-eating, spawn-of-the-devil feminazi that she is! The nerve of this woman! However were we duped all those years? Who does she think ........
Oh ..................
...............sorry ......
.... got caught up in the spirit of things.
obama koolaid
Obama Kool-Aid?
racist???
Sorry, we progressives don't receive that channel
"don't know anything about you popo, but one things for sure you could use some tin foil under your hat."
Sorry, Bill from CT, I don't think any progressives receive your channel. Putting tin foil under our hats is not going to help us to receive the programming you're picking up.
You keep insisting that Florida's votes represent the "voice of the people." That's nonsense. The voice of the people in Florida and Michigan was not heard, because most Democrats stayed home and did not waste time voting in a primary that they were told could not count.
(Little did they know that some others may have been hearing a different message through their tin foil hats.)
In Michigan, Obama asked for his name to be removed from the ballot (Mr. Niceguy, always the sucker.) But Hilliary would not. Asked why, she said she didn't need to, because any votes she received would not be counted.
Now of course, she insists those votes should be counted. They must be counted. And they better be counted, she demands, or else.
"Equal playing field" my tin foil covered ass.
Oooops .... actually ....
"The voice of the people in Florida and Michigan was not heard, because most Democrats stayed home and did not waste time voting in a primary that they were told could not count." - Askolnick
Ummmmm ... turnout for the Florida Democratic primary set a record this year. Seems that the last time that there was a contested primary on both sides, the combined turnout was about 1.34 million (counting democrats and republicans). http://www.miamiherald.com/548/v-print/story/396057.html . In 2000, the democratic total vote was 652,000. In 2004, the democratic total vote was 752,000.
This year, there were over 1.74 million democratic votes alone! http://election.dos.state.fl.us/elections/resultsarchive/index.asp?ElectionDate=1/29/2008
I know you don't like the facts to get in the way of a good Hillary-bashing, Askolnick, but you really need to take the foil off. Based on where you put it, it appears to be interfering with your ability to think.
Just lookin' out for ya, buddy!
BTW - 'nother quote for ya!

Lieberman connection
Lieberman disconnection
Actually Colleen, quite a few Democratic office holders supported Ned Lamont against Lieberman in the Connecticut primary.
The rest of your comment is dead on. Bill and Hilliary Clinton, current Senate Leader Harry Reid, and a lot of other Dems also supported Lieberman, until he lost to Lamont.
It is important to note that Sen. Obama stopped supporting Lieberman when he lost the Democratic primary and ran against the Democratic nominee.
Such party treason I would not put past Hilliary Clinton. Hilliary has repeatedly praised the Republican nominee McCain as a safer and better choice for Commander in Chief than her Democratic opponent.
Is she planning to pull a Lieberman and become McCain's running mate -- knowing that he's too old for a second term and may not even finish his first? Could she be this Machiavellian? Hilliary has recently shown us that she could have taught Machiavelli a few new tricks.
I'm in good company uncomfortably wondering why she's now campaigning that McCain would make a better Commander in Chief than the Democratic front runner.
(See accompanying comment.)
Clinton praising McCain etc
Ouch
Don't forget
Don't forget that that was the Repugnicans reaction to McCain's candidacy. They said they would rather vote for Clinton than for him. And what happened? They've embraced McCain as their choice to replace George Bush. Bygones be bygones.
How ironic it would be if the Repugnicans, who said they'd rather vote for Clinton than McCain, get to do both.
Also don't forget that, by wrecking the Democratic party before joining the McCain ticket, Clinton would have left the Democrats in terrible disunity and thoroughly demoralized Repugnican opposition.
After months of being slimed 24/7, Obama would be severely handicapped by widespread rumors that he's a "Manchurian candidate" working with Muslims to destroy Christianity (a crackpot rumor that Hilliary's camp has been feeding with increasing openness). These would be perfect ingredients for a Republican victory. Karl Rove couldn't come up with a more Machiavellian strategy.
Or maybe he did.
Look how we let these criminals steal the White House in 2000 even though Al Gore won both a popular and electoral majority? Do you think these thugs won't do everything possible to stop Obama from bringing the rule of law back to the White House? After eight years of having unchecked freedom to engage in thousands of criminal acts, do you think they are going to risk prosecution and prison? And do you really think they have anything to fear from the American people after seeing them cower in fear for the past eight years?
I known this seems an impossible scenario. After Hilliary Clinton's decent into the political cesspool, I no longer will put anything past her. Right now, she's talking as if she and McCain are running against Obama.
If Hillary can't convince the party bosses to give her the Democratic nomination, I would not be that shocked to see her pull a Lieberman. If she does, the Republicans could pull it off.
They've done even more implausible things - like winning the White House with fewer popular votes and fewer electoral votes than the Democrats. The last time I checked my history books, that was supposed to be impossible.
When you game the system the way they have for more than a decade, and when you have an emasculated citizenry that doesn't object to widespread governmental law breaking, you've got the perfect storm.
Reserve your ammo
We need to pay attention to all her threatening messages
We need to pay attention to all of Lady Macbeth's messages and machinations. She's clearly trying to blackmail Democratic party leaders into conceding one demand after another until she has enough ammunition to demand the nomination in spite of the will of Democratic voters.
"Do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself," is a recipe for ruination.
Example? How about not getting anxious over the inadequate levies of New Orleans? Despite the urgent warnings from civil planners, engineers, meteorologists, and others who warned of certain doom for New Orleans unless something is done to improve the city's inadequate levies, the Bush administration chose to follow the "wisdom" in Matt 6:34. Heck of a job Brownie.
GOOD GRIEF!!
off with the gloves
Reject and Denounce Ann Coulter!
Great point! Coulter has called for the deaths of all Progressives. That is a near majority of all Americans. But, Hillary will be safe....... she was raised a Republican, she worked to get Republicans elected and then because she fell in love with a Democrat, and they were both political want-to-bees, and only men were being elected, she changed to his party. But at heart and in her voting, she is a Republican conservative. She is more conservative than McCain.
Then there are those who have endorsed McCain, Hagee being one, who should be rejected and denounced, not only by McCain, but by all Americans.
Hillary tried to get a health care plan through when she was First Lady. She got smacked down and NEVER tried again. In all the years since then, she did nothing about it. But now, she says she can get things done. Experienced, she says she is. Well, she has experience of rolling over and riding it out. And then claiming she has fought for us.
35 years of experience. 20 years as First Lady, of either a President or a Governor. That qualifies her to the job of being hostess at parties, but not President of the United States. I do not want to be laying on the operating table and have the wife of my surgeon come up and tell me that "She is doing my surgery, to save my life. Not to worry. Her husband, the surgeon, has talked to her about his surgeries." Being there when important decisions are made, discussing these decisions, does not qualify you for the job.
So, she gives up when she fights for us. (Never, when she is fighting for herself). And she has 6 years of being a Senator.
Senator Obama has many more years of actual governmental experience than Hillary. He was in State government while she was dishing out those cookies that "stay at home Mother's" made. She is taking credit for what her husband did, while she was there. But only for those decisions which she finds convenient now.
As I wrote yesterday. She should look in the mirror. It turns out that Senator Obama did not wink, wink, nod, nod on Nafta. It was Hillary herself, who contacted the Canadian Government with those winks and nods. Telling them she would not really change Nafta. Why would she? She was all for it when her husband pushed it through in the 90's and has had nothing but praise for it since. Until before the primaries in Ohio and Texas, where she needed to distance herself from it. But, she went further. She projected what she had done, onto Senator Obama. And profited from it! She lied to us. Not about something small, but about something that is important to many American's lives. To get votes.
Her campaign can dish out the negative talk and ads, but it is unfair for anyone else to point out truths about her. When Senator Obama, pointed out that she still has not released her tax returns (some very troubling money issues there) and her papers from when she was First Lady (after almost 8 years) they call Senator Obama "Ken Starr". WTF(rick)?
So questions will not be tolerated! Haven't we had 8 years of this? Do we really want another person as President, who is so secretive?
And finally, her continued praise for McCain. That she and McCain are the only two qualified to be Commander-in-Chief, Her denouncing a fellow Democratic Candidate as not qualified is so outside the Democratic principles, the rules of discourse, that she should be drummed out of the Democratic party. She has taken pages out of Rove's playbook (too bad this is not just a play date).
Remember how Bush threw McCain under the bus? That shows you what kind of President you will get, when they turn on their own. Trustworthiness, honesty as a life choice, (not that you won't make mistakes and mis-speak sometimes. But you own up to it) are the most important things we need in a President. I don't trust her.
We have looked through that mirror, darkly. Many more of the Democratic party have also looked through that mirror, and we reject and denounce her.
Time for a Hillary reality check
Hillary's claim to knowing what it's like to be Commander in Chief is like Hillary claiming to know what it's like having sex with Monica Lewinsky.
Last night, Keith Olbermann made a similar observation: Laura Bush has an equal amount of experience in what is needed to be Commander in Chief.
I suppose the difference between these two First Ladies is that one has the experience of a President screwing interns while the other has the experience of a President screwing the whole country.
If Hillary steals the nomination, I think we should cast write-in votes for Laura Bush and let the best First Lady win.
