Caption This: Town Hall Protesters Have No Idea What They're Talking About

CAPTION THIS

The divisive screaming and hatred that has enveloped the healthcare debate is enough to make you want to curl up in the fetal position. But when our pal GottaLaff at the highly-recommended blog Political Carnival sent us this picture yesterday afternoon, it made our day.

The shoe on display in Iraq as a "honor" to Bush -- Caption This

The ultimate Bush memorial is now in Iraq: a statue of a shoe in Tikrit, hometown of the late Saddam Hussein.

It's large, bronze, and a fitting tribute to the shoes thrown at Bush in his waning days.

And while it was just announced that the shoe was coming down (some democracy that is), we still want to honor its memory.

Normally, in Caption This, we ask to say what the person is thinking. But here we have a shoe. So you have to pretend the shoe can talk.

But what would the shoe say if it could speak?

"I am finely crafted and I have to be associated with this clown." "Try throwing a huge bronze shoe at Bush." "Unlike Bush, I at least have sole."

Roland Burris Is Smiling -- Tell Us Why

CAPTION THIS

Roland Burris, AP Photo

Rod Blagojevich beat Roland Burris in the 2002 Democratic primary race for Illinois governor, just as Paul Simon beat out Burris in a primary race for the Senate in 1984. Burris also ran unsuccessfully against Richard M. Daley for Chicago mayor in 1995. And there have been other electoral losses.

Burris was last elected as anything in 1991 -- serving one term then as Illinois Attorney General. But here he is in 2009 -- smiling.

President Bush Goes Native With His Dress -- Caption This

Barack Obama took a lot of flack for being photographed in native gear when visiting Africa. Presumably well aware of that, President Bush nevertheless threw caution to the wind and bravely donned a native Peruvian poncho on his recent trip to Lima for the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

Caption This: John McCain's secret weapon: his tongue

Yes, it's too good to be true. No Photoshopping necessary. There is John McCain sticking out his tongue as the candidates came on stage in Wednesday night's debate at Hofstra University.

What an awkward moment, but on Caption This, our attitude is to take what happens and run with it.

So why does McCain have his tongue out? Upset at Bob Schieffer even before the debate started? Is it time for Halloween?

Delve into your mind to tell us what McCain has in his mind. What is he saying?

Old Glory, Oh Lordy! American Flag Flip-Flopped

George W. Bush seems happy as ever as America's cheerleader-in-chief at the Beijing Olympics. Too bad his handlers didn't take care of the flag business as they normally do in arranging props for the President.

So, is Dubya using the flag to make a political statement? Is he unAmerican? What if a figurehead like Miss America showed disrespect like this for America's number one symbol?

Help us caption George's flagging moment by submitting a comment.

This is what Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (AZ) is using as his Facebook profile shot.

Typically candidates use a headshot or photos in front of flags, giving speeches, with supporters, whatever ... but this?

Caption This: When it comes to George W. Bush, there's a reason to cry

Europe has not been spared over the legacy left by George W. Bush. But regardless of where you're from, this 2-year-old picture from Germany, thanks to Reuters, sums up a lot of feelings toward Bush.

We may not cry like a baby, but he does make us cry over what has been done.

The beauty of this photo is that it looks like Bush made the baby cry on purpose, an easy skill for him to display.
