Mr. Remnick, there's a basic difference I think:
What's missing from your cover was a nod & a wink.

That's what Colbert does whenever he's skidding
Across dicey terrain to let you know that he's kidding.

And at this moment of New Yorker cover fatigue
I'd like to add that you're hardly in Mr. Colbert's league.
