Subject: Supreme Court Kills Democracy
BuzzFlash,
In denying to hear the case of Khaled al-Masri, the Supreme Court has endorsed tyranny. If there is no remedy for false imprisonment and torture, then there is no democracy, there is no freedom. What more power does a tyrant need than that which the Supreme Court has just condoned?

Subject: We Know Bush's Entire Game Plan So Why Are We Losing?
Because we're entirely reactive with no game plan of our own, which is astounding since all it'll take for us to turn this around is for us to force Congress to cut off all funding for the Iraq war, whereupon, empowered by our victory over the powers that be, what about the game plan? It'll be up to us.

Subject: When Will Dems Stop Enabling Bush?
NEVER - when will you all figure out, these people are all in this together. The military-industrial complex has arrived.
We need a third party badly, but the MSM, along with their owners, will never allow it. Yesterday I heard someone from the Weekly Standard call Ron Paul insane after the debate. This is where we are folks. They're scared to death of him, so they'll have to make you think you're insane to support him.
For the Dems, only Kucinich speaks the truth, and you know how far they'll allow him to go. He gets one/two question per debate.
We need about a thousand more Keith Olbermanns and Boston Legals to get at least some semblance of truth to people.

Subject: The Supreme Court refuses to hear a lawsuit from a German man who claims he was mistakenly abducted and tortured by the CIA. Where is the justice?
At the International Court of Justice in the Hague!
The court's en banc denial of cert of this case is IMPEACHABLY CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT. Going back to the 12/12/2000 Bush v. Gore, this Supreme Court corruption has clearly displayed itself in the violation of the American-ratified, April 27, 1999 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that states in pertinent:
Article 8. Everyone has the RIGHT TO AN EFFECTIVE REMEDY BY THE COMPETENT NATIONAL TRIBUNALS for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.
Article 9. NO ONE SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO ARBITRARY ARREST, DETENTION OR EXILE.
Article 10. Everyone is entitled in full equality to a FAIR AND PUBLIC HEARING BY AN INDEPENDENT AND IMPARTIAL TRIBUNAL, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.
Article 11.
(1) Everyone charged with a penal offence has the RIGHT TO BE PRESUMED INNOCENT until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had ALL THE GUARANTEES NECESSARY FOR HIS DEFENCE.
(2) NO ONE SHALL BE HELD GUILTY OF ANY PENAL OFFINCE ON ACCOUNT OF ANY ACT OR OMISSION WHICH DID NOT CONSTITUTE A PENAL OFFENCE, UNDER NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL LAW, at the time when it was committed.
Article 12. NO ONE SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO ARBITRARY INTERFERENCE WITH HIS PRIVACY, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the RIGHT TO THE PROTECTION OF THE LAW against such interference or attacks.
Article 21.
2. Everyone has the RIGHT TO EQUAL ACCESS TO PUBLIC SERVICE in his country. [including the judiciary].
Article 28. Everyone is ENTITLED TO A SOCIAL AND INTERNATIONAL ORDER in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.
Article 29.
(1) Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible.
(2) In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be SUBJECT ONLY TO SUCH LIMITATIONS AS ARE DETERMINED BY LAW SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF SECURING DUE RECOGNITION AND RESPECT FOR THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF OTHERS and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.
(3) THESE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS MAY, IN NO CASE, BE EXERCISED CONTRARY TO THE PURPOSES AND PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS.
Article 30. NOTHING IN THIS DECLARATION MAY BE INTERPRETED AS IMPLYING FOR ANY STATE, GROUP OR PERSON ANY RIGHT TO ENGAGE IN ANY ACTIVITY OR TO PERFORM ANY ACT AIMED AT THE DESTRUCTION OF ANY OF THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS SET FORTH HEREIN.
It is axiomatic that, no matter how elevated, all judicial tribunals must consistently and logically follow procedural and substantive rules and precedents in order to preserve and maintain integrity and credibility in the protection of society and culture. Their lofty status certainly does not excuse engagement in criminal acts of conspiracy to achieve whatever results may be desired under cover of whatever frivolous sophistry might be available.
It's long overdue to petition the United Nations' High Commissioner on Human Rights to investigate and redress the American government's obscene litany of violations of the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Subject: Michigan ballot pullout
Has someone with a Clinton presidency agenda found a clever way to promote Clinton in front of the other top tier candidates by pied-pipering the others out of the Michigan debate and off the Michigan ballot? Primary voters are the fountainhead of passion within the party, the grassroots activists of the party, and someone seems to have forgotten that they're all but guaranteed to vote in the general election, too, unless they're deeply offended by the party or the candidates! Snubbing the primary voters is just going to piss them off and turn them against the candidates who snub them. It isn't brain surgery. Put yourself in their shoes. How would you feel?
When a candidate pulls his name off the primary ballot in the state, emotion will play a significant role in the voters' response. They're going to interpret it as the candidate saying to them, "You don't matter to me. I don't need you," even if that's not the candidate's intended message. It's going to cost the candidate many, many general election popular votes, should that candidate be nominated to represent the party. Conversely, staying on the ballot and debating in that state will be received as the opposite message - that the primary voters in that state matter to the candidate.
Isn't it interesting that Senator Clinton stayed on the ballot in Michigan and is going to attend the debate, while her primary party rivals have pulled out of the state? Is this yet another manipulative effort by the "anointers," taking opportunistic advantage of state party squabbling, to tell the people what they want instead of asking them - to anoint Hillary before the election? This state primary squabbling can only hurt the party.

# 1 Where has Thompson been the past 10 years?
# 2 Are Thompson and McCain too old? Just think in terms of....8 years from 2009 ... they will both be pushing 80 ... and neither are cognizant of anything now!
#3 Why does Mitt Romney grin all the time ... not sometimes ... but all the time. Does he think he is that pretty??
#4 Does anyone except me remember the joy in the dance of Pelosi, Reid, Emanuel, etc. in Nov. 2006 ... the day after election? We ... the scared ones ... thought it was all over ... that we could now stand up to the right-wing neocons ... and life would be worth living in this country again. As Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid is as Stupid does."
#5 Would any of you believe that many republicans were worried, too ... but, kept their mouths shut ... because they wondered. Now, they are just as smart ass as always!
#6 I have not watched the republican nor democratic debates lately ... just cannot! I have to hear second hand what they say ... but, I do know that both Thompson and McCain are much too old. Hey, they thought Reagan was too old ... and he was, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's shortly after he left office ... and McCain has already made a lot of statements that scare the heck out of me. He was once singing, "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of "Barbara Ann."Anyone see that except me? He grinned an evil grin! And Thompson is just plain out of the loop!
#7 Does anyone think it is time to be scared?
Just as an explanation, I watched a man on Washington Journal yesterday ... book titled "Takeover" ... he told of the plans of Dick Cheney way back ... 30 years ago ... and he had to wait until the time was right and he could get a tool (Bush) (or Fool) who would be President and carry out the "Takeover"... I should not watch anything like that before bedtime ... frightening!!!

Subject: Another presidential veto?
Buzzers -
The Democrats in Congress must be doing something right if they're passing bills that are sticking in the presidential craw.
First the SCHIP veto (accompanied by unbelievable right-wing blog echo chamber slandering of the Frost family who had the temerity to be grateful for government help in paying the bills for the serious injuries to two of their children), and now a threatened veto of legislation to provide housing for low-income families.
http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/news/news...
Some days the cynicism and incompetence of the Bushies just gets me down. Of course we don't torture because we're Americans and Americans don't torture so whatever interrogation techniques we use cannot be torture. When our children come up with explanations like that we take them by their shoulders and look them straight in the eye and tell them to think again.
I've been reading books about Iraq recently (Packer's "Assassin's Gate," Nir Rosen's "In the Belly of the Green Bird," and Scahill's book about Blackwater, and dipping into Ricks's "Fiasco," and Gordon and Trainor's "Cobra II") and I'm sickened all over again about how stupid and incompetent and narrow-minded and wrong-headed the whole Iraqi enterprise has been. A sedan with two women riddled with bullets just yesterday by cowboys from an Australian contractor provided "security" for American officials. Heart-breaking. How do people in Iraq get up in the morning?
On that cheery note ...

Will you write up an article telling about the right-wing attack on the child who supported the SCHIP bill and what has happened to him thru attacks by Limbaugh and O'Reilly etc.? Subject: Perfect Reminder
Our so-called representatives in congress need constant reminders that they work for (We the People.)
Every politician in Washington D.C. should have a mandatory tattoo on their foreheads that reads, "PUBLIC SERVANT." Each politician should have to see those words every morning in the mirror as a reminder of who they really are.
Extra large lettering on Nancy and Harry's foreheads just might wake them up!

Subject: The Ping Pong Ball In My Head
Most of us realize that no politician and no elected official is ever going to give us, as individuals, exactly what we want. Still, sometimes I feel as if one more bit of information, one more tidbit of gossip, one more word about a candidate will surely make my head explode.
I have grown more careful about ranting about this politician or that on one issue only to find myself applauding them on another thus looking and feeling like a twit. Many may think me a twit, but I don't care so long as I don't feel like one.
I just wrote recently about finding something about Barack Obama that I could be really positive about. I found that thing I could applaud Senator Obama in his blocking Von Spakovsky. (BuzzFlash Mailbag for October 5, the subject is "Lady In Waiting.)
Now according to the ever-vigilant David Sirota, Obama Says He Will Vote for NAFTA Expansion and that is something that I am totally against. Obama has been quoted as saying ...
"he would vote for a Peruvian trade agreement next week, in response to a question from a man in Londonderry, NH who called NAFTA and CAFTA a disaster for American workers. He said he supported the trade agreement with Peru because it contained the labor and environmental standards sought by groups like the AFL-CIO, despite the voter's protests to the contrary. He also affirmed his support for free trade."
Note the words "voter's protests to the contrary." Are voters' opinions not important to Senator Obama? Strike 1. Senator Obama is for NAFTA expansion. Strike 2. He evidently finds voters superfluous. That's two strikes against, and they are big ones for me. I personally am not feeling very hopeful about Senator Obama now.
Whereas Claire McCaskill, who has managed to disappoint so many of us, now seems to be onto something good. The Senate recently agreed to a plan from McCaskill and fellow freshman and Democrat Jim Webb of Virginia to clean up the Pentagon's chaotic system of awarding private contracts for work in Iraq.

[BuzzFlash Note: Sirota is a terrific analyst, but his source in this case, MSNBC's "First Read," is not a detailed statement from Obama on the issue. Another writer provided a bit more context and a longer quote, as follows: "An older man wanted Obama to say he wouldn't vote to approve the Peru Free Trade Agreement. The man predicted it wouldn't help workers in Peru or the United States. He said NAFTA and the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) had helped only stockholders and increased illegal Mexican immigration. Obama agreed that NAFTA and CAFTA hadn't helped American workers. He noted that he wasn't yet in the Senate when NAFTA was passed, and he voted against CAFTA. But he said the Peru agreement was different because it 'contains the very labor agreements that labor and our allies have been asking for.' The man shook his head violently, saying, 'I beg to differ with you, sir.' Obama stood his ground: 'I have talked to the folks who negotiated this. I've read the agreement. ... We can't draw a moat around the United States economy. China is still trading. India is still going to be trading. They're still going to be engaging in this global economy, and the notion that we can isolate ourselves from it, I believe, is mistaken.'" (hispanicbusiness.com)]
Subject: Lynne Cheney Doing "Damage Control" For The GOP
Lynne Cheney going on Jon Stewart's October 10, 2007 show should tell everyone that the reTHUGlicans are in "damage control" mode.
I almost didn't watch this show because of the "guest." Mr. Stewart has sent a few of the reTHUGlicans looking for their heads, so I decided to give a look see. It quickly became evident that Satan's little helpers had given Jon stern "warnings" about the "interview rules." Under these circumstances I could actually see Hitler have a good chance of some damage control.
What I immediately noticed is that the Cheney witch gave Jon a Darth Cheney doll. All the while laughing and acting like she was a normal human, and not just the frumpy spouse of Satan. My second thought was hey, Jon, have that thing checked for anthrax or passed under a Geiger counter. Those people don't give a damn about who they torture or kill. Statistics show that Daily Show viewers are more aware of what is going on in the real world than those that still watch "faux" news, so I wouldn't put it past the evil people trying to kill you for telling the truth.
Satan's wife said she didn't know what Jon's show was all about, and had never seen it. I half way believe it, because satan only watches "faux" news. However the other half of me says bullsh**t. Typical of the reTHUGlicans marginalizing any opposition while smiling. (Reminds me of the Alabama preacher during a Sunday sermon, preaching Hell-fire and brimstone with scuba panties and a dildo up his ... no wait, he died before that sermon.)
The illusion was that she, like many real humans was there to sell a few books. The truth reads DAMAGE CONTROL MODE. These evil manipulative people do not make a move without knowing exactly what they want to accomplish. Each move is calculated, exploited, designed for their good above all else. Imagine Nazis to the nineteenth power.
Well Ms. Darth Cheney, while you are putting on that common face, trying to act human, pretending that you are a good soul, we the people are on to you and your tribe of fascists. You said (maybe jokingly) that darth occasionally bites the heads off of live chickens, but I suspect that may actually be a delicacy for your spouse. After all he does love torture.
Why else would a real man, the "good person" you are unsuccessfully trying to make of him, get any happiness "hunting" birds that have been raised in captivity around people for the sole purpose of being herded up, held under a cage in a field while grown rich men give the signal for them to be thrown into the air so these so-called men can shoot them? Ending their lives at close range? Your spouse loves to control, like a serial rapist. It is not about the rape, it is about getting your jollies from the control. That is twisted and unbalanced.
You claim that when the history books are written about this illegal immoral war that it will look much differently than it does now. I agree, if truth wins you and your tribe of evil doers will be labeled the war criminals you are; if truth loses and history is rewritten, you and your ilk will look less like the torturing, war mongering, murderous evil souls you are.
You tried unsuccessfully to compare this illegal, immoral war with our very own revolution, but what you failed to see or mention is when the British were defeated, THEY LEFT!!! Were you on the British side, you would have called (as you and your ilk do now) those patriots fighting the occupying forces insurgents. Those Iraqi people that manage to survive view the mercenary murderous army and troops as what they are ... AN OCCUPYING FORCE that is UNWELCOME. It seems you totally ignored the 1994 Darth Cheney comment that invading Iraq would be a mistake, creating the instability it has. You ignore the fact that the new Darth Cheney still knew what would happen, but in order to line some large pockets, just brushed the facts aside.
What you and your few remaining supporters will never admit is that you were and still are totally clueless as to their culture. Saddam was a bad man, but he understood their culture, maintained control, was put in power by your cabal, trained by them. Your cabal supplied him the weapons you used to justify his removal and murder.
The real truth behind his removal and subsequent murder was he knew the truth. He was a liability now and might spill the beans on you thugs. He understood our culture more so than you. Perhaps his real sin was that he threatened to kill big daddy shrub or had that tile mosaic installed in the Baghdad hotel with big daddy's picture and the caption "war criminal" beneath. It certainly was a priority for it to be promptly changed, with Saddam's image replacing that of big daddy shrub.
You claim that satan (your husband) has said that freedom means freedom for all people when referring to your gay daughter. Again I say you are a hypocrite. No one in their right mind can align themselves with those you do and actually feel that way. He is not in favor of freedom for all, just a few - meaning your family. How else would you describe what your spouse is endorsing in Gitmo? That is not freedom for all, it is war crime. True Christians do not torture people!!!
I did get a chuckle when you claimed that your husband enjoys the same activities as Mr. Stewart. That was a hilarious assertion. Even Mr. Stewart found it difficult not to address this ridiculous statement.
Ms. Darth Cheney, Jon Stewart does not get drunk, shoot a friend in the face with a shotgun, go sleep it off before calling the secret service - bypassing the correct authorities entirely. Finally twisting the facts so that the victim makes a press conference in which he tells the world how sad he is to have put YOUR HUSBAND through it all. Again, your spouse is NOTHING LIKE Mr. Stewart.
You and your ilk say to those of us that feel the un-patriot act is a tool for your axis of evil to gain more power that if we have nothing to hide we shouldn't be against it. I say the very same thing to you and your spouse satan. If you really have nothing to hide why not tell us what really happened on 9/11, why not let us see why those attorneys were fired, why not let us see why those in Gitmo aren't being released or charged, let's see who in the mis administration committed treason and outed a CIA agent, why won‘t Harriet testify under oath, why won‘t KKKarl testify under oath and on the record? Can't do it, can you?
The simple truth is that you and everyone you consider like-minded have created more terrorists than Osama Bin Laden ever could have. You and your like-minded close friends allowed 9/11 and perhaps were instrumental in it happening. You and your like-minded close friends lied about air quality after the attacks, and as a result still more good people died. Have you no sense of decency?
Oh, I am sorry you don't know who Bin Laden is. I'll bring you up to speed: this is the man that the outgoing administration felt strongly enough about to warn the current prezNIT. The man that threatened to attack the WTC some short time before he did. The man that was mentioned in that memo "Bin Laden determined to strike inside the U.S." the same memo kinda sleazy rice showed dumbya at the pig farm in Crawford. The one that angered the smirking chimp and he said while looking at it from a distance "ok, I've seen it. You have covered your ass, Now go away."
This is the very same man that your husband and his smirking chimp used to justify a fictitious war in Afghanistan, just next door to the country that had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the 9/11 attacks. The staging grounds to illegally, immorally overthrow a sovereign nation to seize its oil, destabilize an entire region, kill its citizens while making obscene amounts of money for you and your friends. The excuse to loot the U.S. Treasury. By the way, how is that first fictitious war working for you now?
Bin Laden is the same man that your husband and his smirking chimp "... don't really think about" anymore. Yes, the same man that the smirking chimp said would be captured "dead or alive." Ring any bells? I thought not.
Minds are like parachutes, they only work properly when OPEN.

Subject: Bring The War Home Video On Goleft.tv
Hi, BuzzFlash Readers,
Scroll through "The Video Nation" channel on GoLeft.tv and play the recent video titled:
"Bring The War Home"
Former US Soldiers, who were against the war but did their duty, brought the war HOME for Americans to see what they had to go through in Iraq by walking the streets of New York with imaginary guns aimed at volunteers posing as Iraqis, as they captured them; and how they had to administer aid and throw fellow wounded soldiers over their shoulders.
Onlookers probably thought some movie was being filmed as they looked on in disbelief - with their cameras.
I guess since FAUX doesn't have the nerve to send reporters to the fighting areas and bring the War to Americans on TV, these soldiers Brought The War HOME - To Americans IN PERSON!!
After you watch the video, write to/call your local television news station and ask them why THEY are not showing this video!

Subject: Foot-in-the-Mouth Brigade Yammers On
It is to be hoped that the vile right-wing Yammerers like Annie the Hag and Rush the Drug-Addled Gasbag will not go sit quietly in a corner. The more they open their mouths, the more it is apparent to rational human beings that they are loathsome slugs.
The right-wing base loves them. Of course they do; they are as vile a pair of human-like creatures as has ever infested a country just like the loathsome folks that inhabit the base. They love to hate, and Annie the Hag and Rush the Drug-Addled Gasbag point that hate in whatever direction they think is politically helpful to the right wing.
I believe that it was Limbaugh's attacks on Michael J. Fox that propelled Claire McCaskill into the Senate. Most people found those attacks despicable. Well, most decent people that is; the attack was just fine with the slime that inhabits the right-wing base.
Now Annie the Hag and Rush the Drug-Addled Gasbag have taken aim once again and it's a beaut. Annie the Hag attacks women voters as "stupid" if they don't vote the way she thinks they should vote. Calling great swathes of voters stupid doesn't seem like an intelligent thing to do, but then Annie isn't about smart; Annie is about being an attention whore that will do or say anything in order to have the attention focused on her.
Rush, well, the number of times this miserable excuse for a human being has stuck his fat foot in his fat mouth just keeps rising. Attack Michael J. Fox. Check. Attack a wounded vet. Check. And now attack a 12-year-old kid. Check.
It is only to be hoped that Annie the Hag and Rush the Drug-Addled Gasbag keep doing their thing. The more they blabber on, the more decent people will turn away from them and what they espouse. As for the slime that listens and agrees with him or her, no decent thought, word or action will ever penetrate the hate that fills their lives.
Keep talking folks; you are doing the left a very large favor.

Hi, Buzz!!
Mr. Medved certainly deserves the Media Putz of the Week Award. A lot of Medved's rantings are the same as those of the planter class before The War. I've thought for ages that the wingnuts wanted to turn back the clock to the 50s, but I didn't realize they meant the 1850s!
So as long as we're channeling that era, here's another quote - this time from Abe Lincoln: "Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."

Carter is not going to sit back and be politically correct with our sons and daughters spilling their blood everyday! Who else if not a former president to defend our country when he sees what he believes to be the greatest injustice to the American people? Any former president who would sit back and say nothing with American kids dying does not deserve respect! Carter is a man of integrity and a great love for his country and the American people! He will not let being politically polite get in his way!
That is what the repugs would say!
