Bush in the Bunker
A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL
In reading a BBC News Profile of Saddam Hussein from 2001, we couldn’t help but be struck by some eerie points of nexuses with George W. Bush:
"A former Iraqi diplomat living in exile summed up Saddam's rule in one sentence: ‘Saddam is a dictator who is ready to sacrifice his country, just so long as he can remain on his throne in Baghdad.’"
"The Iraqi people are forced to consume a daily diet of triumphalist slogans, fattened by fawning praise of the president."
"He is portrayed as a valiant knight leading the Arabs into battle against the infidel, or as an eighth-century caliph who founded the city of Baghdad. Evoking the glory of Arab history, Saddam claims to be leading his people to new glory.
The reality looks very different. Iraq is bankrupt."
"Saddam Hussein remains largely isolated from his people, keeping the company of a diminishing circle of trusted advisers."
Okay, Bush hasn’t been as tyrannical and murderous to Americans as Saddam Hussein was (with the complicity of the Reagan/Bush administrations in the ‘80s), but consider just a slight rewording of the above excerpted description of Hussein:
"A former State Department diplomat summed up Bush's rule in one sentence: ‘Bush is acting like a dictator who is ready to sacrifice his country, just so long as he can remain in the White House. He defies the will of his own people and has assumed powers of surveillance and secrecy that used to be found in the Kremlin.’"
"The American people are forced to consume a daily diet of triumphalist slogans doled out by the media and fattened by fawning praise of the president from a chorus of highly paid commentators."
"He is portrayed as a pious crusader leading Christians into battle against the infidels. Evoking the glory of God and divine guidance, Bush claims to be leading his people to new glory."
"The reality looks very different. The U.S. is nearly bankrupt, saddled with an unprecedented debt. It is bogged down in an unwinnable Civil War that Bush continues to throw lives and billions of dollars into."
"George W. Bush remains largely isolated from his people, keeping the company of a diminishing circle of trusted advisers."
Uh, the similarities are kind of creepy aren’t they? And both men appear to get a thrill out of death and the macabre. (Uh, make that the past tense for Saddam.)
We recently ran across an account of a meeting that Bush had with a Democratic senate leader before the Iraq War. In essence, Bush justified the Iraq War because Saddam won’t "F**kin" dance to the tune of the U.S.
Only 11% of Americans reportedly support an escalation of troops. The Joint Chiefs of Staff unanimously opposed the idea. The list of even Republican honchos opposing an increase in the number of troops far outnumbers the scattering of remaining Bushevik loyalists. A "study group" engineered by Bush’s father came up with recommendations that would lead to a decrease in U.S. GIs, but Bush rejected the "centrist" findings with a dismissive disdain.
It is Bush and Cheney against the world.
They are in the bunker now, surrounded by enemy forces – not the Iraqis, but the overwhelming majority of Americans.
We have a runaway Executive Branch that is operating in its own self-interest against the wishes and needs of its citizens.
The increase in troops in Iraq will be a death warrant for many of the additional GIs sent to Baghdad. This is not a political decision; it is murder.
The sociopath, reportedly, sleeps soundly every night.
It’s all quiet in the bunker as the world is further set aflame.

LOL
Like being stuck in traffic....and bitching incessantly about the delay.......then coming up on the wreck that caused it......and slowing down even further hoping to catch a brief glimpse of the carnage just like everone else.
You think by spouting out your ideological drool that anyone of the Rothschilds or Rockefellers give a fuck???? The joke is on you. They love it!
Wake the fuck up people....Democrat/Republican/Independant/Green Party! It's all the same dog and pony show. Smoke and mirrors. They do what they do because of a thing called "least path of resistance"
Which be you my friend!
Do your damn homework......
Bush was so crazy about killing Saddam because...
he saw himself in Saddy and didn't like what he saw.
Surge and Purge
The long awaited surge in US troop strength is upon us, George of the Bungle, old blood and guts test of will. Our blood and his guts he will show the Iraqi insurgency that Iraq is still his country didn’t Tom Brocaw say it was after all. And after all it doesn’t matter what the public or the pentagon thinks in this country so why should he care what the insurgency in Iraq thinks? George and the pundits after all think in terms of pins stuck in maps not kids stuck in crossfire’s or vehicles disabled by IED’s Troop flows are not blood flows when it comes to the paid to know better set, out of sight out of mind, what funerals?
But the critics charge “But George what if the surge doesn’t work what then? Do we give up ?” But George isn’t listening Duh, haven’t we as a nation figured that out yet? It has become acutely easy to determine who in the administration is with this Helen Keller of Pennsylvania Ave. Those in the administration that agree with George of the bungle are called incoming those that disagree are called out going simple enough isn’t it? Surge and Purge, White House press spokesman Tony Snow (the hardest working man in snow business) says, “The administration welcomes opposing points of view” leaving out it that it makes it easier to know who to replace.
Thirty thousand? Fifty thousand? A hundred thousand or a million tis a moot point. When Mrs. O’Leary’s cow kicked over that lantern in the barn had ten firemen been on the spot the conflagration never would have happened. But once the cities in flames all the fireman in the world can’t help you. I’d bet you a dollar to a doughnut that Mrs. O’Leary was damn careful with cows and lanterns from then on! That’s the difference between Mrs. O’Leary and our Helen Keller on the Potomac, this Helen doesn’t learn, if you put her hand under the pump and spell “That doesn’t work!” into it as the blood flows through his fingers his response is to fire Ann Sullivan and find a new teacher that will spell good idea into his hand instead.
We as a people are stuck; George has stymied us with the poison pill defense of Dick Cheney. Name your poison, stupid or maniacal the wolf man or Frankenstein? Either way it won’t solve the problem of how to get out of Iraq. I had to laugh as the corporate media frames the issue to corner the Democrats, CNN asked, “Do the Democrats have a plan of what to do in Iraq?” and the correspondent answered slowly shaking her head she answers no. Gosh, the democrats have control Congress for three whole days and they still don’t have a plan! What’s wrong with them?
After all it’s so simple, you can, leave and don’t look back I call that one cut and run plan in deference to George of the bungle. Two, try and bring about a cease-fire by diplomatic back channels then a phased withdrawal I call that one Peace with honor (Kudos to Nixon!) Or you try it George’s way, when your boat develops a hole in it and begins to fill with water you drill another hole to let the water back out then you find Generals and officials that will agree that’s a good plan then you fire anyone who disagrees I call that one the current policy.
I think a better question for CNN to ask would be, is it better to have no plan or a stupid plan? Or maybe after you’ve had three years not three days to come up with a plan and this is the best you can do? Fire everyone who disagrees and look for hear no evil, speak no evil and see no evil to warm cabinet chairs. It has all the makings of a tragic comedy if it weren’t for the real warm blood of real Americans that joined the military to serve their country not some imbecile’s ego.
Moe Larry and Curley were walking through the kennel one day when Curley says “Oh nice doggie!” Moe says “Say don’t you see that sign beware of dog lame brain!” Curley says, “Yeah but I want to pet him and take him home he looks friendly enough.” Curley sticks his hand in the cage and the dog bites his hand. “Hey Moe!” He screams what do I do? He bit me he bit me and he won’t let go! Oh, oh,oh, oh!” Larry chimes in, “Well the sign said beware of dog! What did you expect?” Moe slaps him and says, “Alright wise guy what’s your plan?” “Gee Moe I don’t have one” “Well then shut up! Curley stick your other hand in the cage and maybe he’ll let go!”
Victor, you are 2/3 right
Victor, you are 2/3 right but there is no time for impeachment, we have to stop him now. I hate to rain on the Impeachment supporters, there's nothing I would rather see than Bush, Cheney and their thugs face justice, but it takes months, years to get through the House and then you need a 2/3 majority in the senate. By that time, Bush is out of office and we are at war with Iran, Syria and Venezuela.
Gonuts has the real info.
Be in the streets in DC 1/25 - 1/27 with lobby training the 28th and a 50 state, total delegation lobby effort on Monday the 29th. trying to get constituents from every district to hit every Senator and Representative.
Thursday, 1/11 Shut Down Guantanamo International, make a sign and stop on a conspicous corner on your commute home, it's this Thursday. Wave a sign at the Rushhour traffic, get 'em to honk, send them home knowing that there are people that want this horrorshow to end.
If you've noticed a regular vigil in your county (and there are thousands nationwide) This would be an opportune moment to join with them.
If you haven't, start one.
As separate fingers, we are easily broken, together we are a mighty fist.
Gonnuts is right...time to march on Washington.
The march is all set...this time I think the media will even cover it. We need to make it big.
JANUARY 25TH - 27TH WASHINGTON DC - MARCH TO STOP THE MADNESS
East coasters especially...no excuses, just carpool there if necessary.
One step further
the world knows that Bush is a war criminal. American's however will protect his sad ass beause they're too stupid and too proud to have their shortcomings called upon by any rational thinking people.
Next, think of this: When ll these angry kid ome bak from Iraq after having their youth stolen; when all these neo con freaks decide to arm themselves in another civil war based on US soil; who will your government focus on then? You guessed it... Probably Canada. I give it 50 years and you're contemptible nation will attempt to invade here. It's alredy beginning. Many up here can see the writing on the wall.
WE ARE NEXT. WE HAVE ALL THE RESOURCES THAT YOU SO LOVE TO PILLAGE; oil, gas, diamonds, gold and water.
As my good friends have quoted Charleton Heston, so too will I: The day that America sets foot on this land by way of annexation or hostile invasion (remember I'm not talking tommorrow. I'm talking in 50 years) "is the day that you'll have to pry this gun from my cold dead hands."
The world is preparing to take up arms against the US. Don't kid yourselves... Nuke or not. I am prepared to fight for world peace, even if it means throwing stones at what was once a great ally, nation and friend AMERICA SICKENS ME. All of it. Your Democratic nominees in the House and The Senate will do nothing to stop Bush. NOTHING! You're a pie in the sky nation. You're too scared to fight for your own country because you would rather look on, as you kill someone else's families and children. You find it sporting. How sad.
Yankee go home!!!
Yankee stay away!!!
Yankee forgive me for I have become what you have asked of me... I am no longer a friend and neighbour. I am growing weary and am beginning to speak out publicly. I challenge all of you lazy bloggers to get off your ass and storm the capital. What are you waiting for? It was your families that built the nation, not Bush's. Take your country back by force. It's yours. And when you're done.... Send your president to Baghdad to stand trial. He deerves not to be hung, but stoned in the most biblical way. It is what he believes in, after all, isn't it? And it was HE who cast the firt stone. Not Iraq. Hang the man when his term i done and prove to the world that your country isn't as worthless as people like me know it to be.
Thanks, eh?
Keep speaking up! We are with you! Please don't hate us, hate our government, as we do. We are in a stuggle to take it back. Please send good thoughts and beer.
B4 it's 2 late !
America,
You are ruled by madmen. Warmongers intent on escalating towards total war, not to mention starting brand new ones, nuclear wars since you have no more boots to put on the ground (you know... Iran).
Americans... Democrats... What are you going to do about it?
Look at all the cabinet / brass changes... These are signs of full speed ahead disaster coming. Just like before the tsunami, the water is receding, and you just stand there in disbelief... soon to be wiped out... Not knowing much what to do.
But deep down, you do know... What are you going to do about it?
The time for sterile blogging, bitching and yakking is over.
Now is the time for ACTION: resistance, for hanging those deserving to be hung, for general strikes, for taking the streets, for armed insurrection, by any and all means.
Do you really believe the israel lobby beholden democrats are gonna stand against any of this?
They won't even utilize their power of the purse, much less impeach.
Do you really believe that the democrats won anything or could it be that those who rig elections need to have the democrats supposedly in charge when the shit hits the fan and bush rides roughshod over them?
When will you awake and contemplate the true nature of the beast you have spawned?
America, your political leadership, as jubilant over nothing as it may be, has, in effect, abandoned you.
The fate of the world is in your hands. You, the lonely individual, or the pack of buddies animated by a true love of the principles enshrined in your US Constitution, or whole neighborhoods, or angry mobs... Do something! ANYTHING ! NOW !
Very soon it will be too late and, if you're still alive, you will be asked, why did you sit idle when you knew what was coming? What will you answer? How will you ever be able to look at yourself in the mirror ever again?
Peak oil is a reality. You can't do anything about supply. But you can reduce demand. That means you. To kill you. You kill half of the world and the peak oil deadline is pushed back another 20 years. Do you really put it past these people to kill half of the world without even flinching?
Very soon... an awful event (another false flag black op) will occur, and everything will accelerate totally out of control... Just like a tsunami. By then it will be too late.
For God's sake and in the name of the great men who were who you call your founding fathers, please do something. Do it now!

We the People
We Americans are like the baby tigers lost at birth and raised by donkeys. We think and act like donkeys. One day some tigers show up. They see us eating and drinking like donkeys. They show us our image in the water and we see we are really tigers like them! Wake up and roar, America!
I don't think he's in control
I think Bush is on meds and does and says what he is told. We need to look at the psych profiles of those who are running him, like Cheney. Then maybe we'll get a better idea of what's coming.
I bet that Roman Citizen's didn't think Caligula was in control.
Bush has enough control, on meds or off, to do some horrendous damage, and very soon. We simply must stop thinking of him as a dumb, medicated loser. He isn't.
The man is in the White House, though not elected by a majority of Americans in the first place. Yes, his businesses have failed miserably, over the years of his "business career." Still, he has managed to rake in millions. He, essentially, went AWOL from the Air Force, while drinking himself into stupors and wiping white powder off his upper lip for awhile, with zero consequences, and still, he managed to shame a real war hero or several, while convincing close to half of the voting public that he was a fighter jet jockey hero of some kind, who was protecting them from scary Arabs, who are close friends with his own damn family. He has said and done more stupid, incompetent, demented crap than any of us would be allowed to get away with and he is still the freakin' president of the United States of America.
So, who is really dumb, in this situation?
This guy is just a dumb dupe, all drugged up and drueling, sitting in a corner somewhere, playing fetch with Barney?
Give me a freakin' break! He is not dumb, he is dangerous.
He once said that he really liked it when people "mis-underestiimate" him.
Yeah. I bet he does.
Misunderestimating George W Bush = plausible deniability.
His Poppy was out of the loop, now we are going to allow the son to say that he was just loopy?
Oh no, that one ain't gonna fly with this old independent. I've seen this movie before, or maybe that was the prequel.
drugged isn't the same as dumb
...and he isn't blameless either. My point was that he's the front-man and freak-show for something deeply sinister, and getting at that could be more productive.
Why Bush Will Escalate
When is "not enough" too much?
Last summer, the US sent 12,000 extra troops into Baghdad. The troops went in to "clear, hold and build" neighborhoods; then the troops moved on. The insurgents, or militia militants, moved back in; violence not only returned it got worse. Is the US going to keep on doing this, over and over again? Or are American troops going to hold those neighborhoods indefinitely?
A definition of insanity is: doing the same thing over and over, while expecting a different outcome.
When Saddam controlled Iraq, there were no civil liberties, but Iraqis only had to fear the state. Now they fear for their lives from every direction, and grasp at any armed group that might be able to protect them. Will the US forces have to replace Saddam permanently? Or will Maliki, or the Shiite government? Unlikely.
Senator Biden speculated that Bush wants to prolong the Iraq disaster until he can hand it off to his successor. Biden figures that Bush doesn't want to be the one in charge when American troops and embassy officials have to be airlifted out of the Green Zone in a replay of the Embassy in Saigon.
But even that doesn't make sense. Bush surely doesn't want to leave such a mess as to ensure that the Democratic takeover of 2006 was merely a mild rehearsal; it will be a Republican disaster in 2008, unless there really is a "victory" in Iraq. How likely does that look?
No, I think the man is mad, as in insane. He's found in General Petraeus someone as mad as he, someone who apparently believes that an American escalation will bring peace to Iraq.
The only thing that makes sense to me is that Bush, as oilman, will be damned first before he'll let go of all that oil in Iraq; he's got it now, and by God, he won't let it go.
And of course, he never makes mistakes.

A Bunker Mentality is an Extremely Dangerous One
for us, and anyone else considered the enemy by the people in the bunker.
I remember when Nixon resigned, right ahead of impeachment (the aricles had already been drawn up and voted on by the House Judiciary Committee.) He was headed for sure impeachment by a full House vote and a sure conviction in the Senate. He did not have the votes in either body to survive as presidnet.
Republicans with clout had to tell him that and get him the hell out of the White House to save their party. Nixon was alone in his bumker, except for Bibi Rebozo, who couldn't be of much help to him. The fight was on to save the GOP.
Little did we, the people, know how very dangerous things had gotten, in the White House bunker of those days, until much later
A book by Woodward and Bernstein desribed what it was like in Nixon's last days. I was so thrilled to see Nixon brought down, that it really had not crossed my, then, very young and uneducated mind, just how bad it could have gotten, until I read that book. It was enough to give a person nightmares for a month.
Nixon was drinking heavily and had been clinically paranoid for some time. He was walking the halls of the White House late at night, talking to dead presidents and making Henry Kissinger pray with him. Those are just a few nuggets for nightmares.
I found myself being grateful to Alexander Haig, of all people, for having the wisdom to see how bad things were and taking the highly unusual step of removing the real football (nuke codes) from him, without his knowledge, and giving them to Gerald Ford. I doubt seriously that that was an action that could be considered constitutional, unless one considers it a kind of half-assed, secret 25th amendment action. At that point, I was just glad that he did it.
Nixon was a mess. Nixon was just such a mess because he did have a conscious and he was alternating between scared witless and defiant anger.
In my humble, but educated opinion, Cheney is just as bad off as Nixon, if not worse, but we don't see it because Cheney is the VP and spends much of his time slithering around in the shadows, doing god knows what and, of even more concern, I see no signs of any real conscious.
I believe he would test out as psychotic, if we did sensible things like require our highest public officials to have complete psychiatric exams every year as we require them to have physicals.
Bush is a mess as well, but in a slightly different way. I believe he is, at this point, a full-blown sociopath, of a type. He has always shown signs of it, even as a kid, when he blew up frogs with fire-crackers of some kind (Cherry bombs?). He cruelly mocked Karla Faye Tucker, a real born-again Christian, before geefully refusing to grant her life in prison, instead of the death penalty. If anyone should have been granted life in prison, it was her. Rarely do wardens volunteer to speak up on someone's behalf as was done for Tucker. Her execution and Bush's mocking of her, when he had the power of life or death over her, makes me sick to my stomach and send chills down my spine, to this day.
Nevertheless, Bush has got other pathologies going on, as well, which add up to even more nightmarish scenarios, when one considers that he has his finger on the button and there doesn't seem to be anyone around him with the sense or the courage to remedy the situation.
I have come to believe that neither Bush nor Cheney give a damn about the Republican Party, other than as a vehicle for their twisted NeoCon policies that have totally wrecked one country and threaten to totally wreck our own, for generations to come, in ways many Americans still can't even imagine. (Who really wants to imagine it?.
They will take the GOP down with them, if not the nation if someone doesn't figure out how to stop them from doing so. They have two full years to go with no need for internal restraint.
Cheney said that no matter what happened with the last election, it was going to be full speed ahead for the White House.
Poor old Richard Nixon was a choir boy compared to Bush and Cheney, and a smart one a that. I despised him at the time, but he was never as openly frightening as the Bush crowd.
I have had people come up to me, lately; people who are not all that political, except for voting, but who know that I am, and ask me how Bush can be stopped, quickly, before he does irreversible damage to this nation and murders more innocents in our name, while wrecking other countries in the process.
I don't have an answer for them. I simply don't know. Impeachment and trial be the Senate, whether on or off the table, will take time; time we probably don't have.
Bush's own cabinet would have to initiate a 25th amendment action, which is what should happen, but how likely is that?
I won't even get into the politics of it all, because, in my mind, anyone who is playing politics with this dire situation out to be publicaly horse-whipped.
My sole concern at this moment is for our country and its people and for the lives of people in other countries who are being killed and/or severely injured by these mad men.
I see a consensus, which has been steadily building since Katrina, among the people and many of our elected officials, coming to a head across the country.
We are entering a dangerous time. I only hope that we can all remain firm and steadfast in our consensus that something has to be done and done as quickly as possible for our own sakes and those of the rest of the world's people. I hope we can do this with as little anger as possible, and with dignity and real strength.
To fly off into street riots and rages now, would assure us of the worst possible outcome.
The last thing we want to do now, if we really care about this country and/or the rest of the planet, is to feed the fear and anger the Bushites have been stirring since 9/11. It is not a good thing to feed the beast, especially our emotional energy.
I know how looney-leftish this is going to sound, but think about it:
In our willing, conscious vulnerability lies our strength, if we really want to stop the madness, seek truth and accountability and restore our country.
I still don't have any answers for my friends. All I know is, that our anger and fear is what has gotten us to this horrid point in our history. (Adrenalin really is stupid juice, as it ages.) Those same knee-jerk, destructive emotions will not get us out of the mess they got us into, especially if acted on.
Bunker
Good stuff Buzz (your editorial and the one from the nytimes). the democrats can't tread softly. Nixon should never have been pardoned, reagan, poppa bush and the boys should have been jailed. now is the time to get down to the criminal business of georgie, dick and condi. the prisons maybe full, but i'm sure there is room in guantanamo. bush and cheney qualify for admission, talk about enemy non-combatants...these guys like to start wars not fight them.
Bunker
And to see a roundup of bush & regime, being led from the White House in handcuffs and hauled away to jail. I'd guess he'd be crying with his trousers wet at the crotch. H.W. would already be hiding out in Uruguay. The manhunt for the other players and profiteers would intensify over the next few weeks.
Good catch Mark!! Bush's Bunker Moment is Nigh!!
I thought HW was crying at that Jeb event in FL, several weeks back, because he knows that W has to go, and that the Bush Crime Family must do what's necessary...
Is It Time
The newly elected Dems said "Impeachment is off the table". If the plan does include an escalation that is their out and impeachment should be the 1ST course!
I like Waxman's approach
Getting to them on the corruption charges. After all, it was faster to go after Capone's income tax evasion than it was to get him on anything else. The point is to get these thugs out of office and away from power as fast as legally possible.
JANUARY 25TH - 27TH
JANUARY 25TH - 27TH WASHINGTON DC - MARCH TO STOP THE MADNESS
Votes don't matter. Letters don't matter. Phone calls don't matter. A MILLION+ PEOPLE CLOGGING THE STREETS OF WASHINGTON AND BRINGING THIS GOVERNMENT TO A STAND STILL WILL MATTER!
Know this - we have contaminated Iraq with enough depleted uranium to make Iraq uninhabitable for any life form to survive till the end of time. We have killed an entire nation forever. And here's the kicker ... everyone deployed there is bringing that contamination back and infecting their wives and children or anyone they exchange fluids with. Cancer rates, birth defects and unexplained illnesses for returning veterans are souring. In Iraq parents don't ask if their baby is a boy or a girl anymore - they ask if it's "normal".
So here's the irony, who are we going to get to extract the oil when breathing the air, using the water and eating the food is a death sentence for anyone sent there? If indeed we went there for the oil - which bush did - we have rendered that oil unreachable or made it so cost prohibitive to extract as to make it unattainable.
And bush wants to send MORE troops into this Hell-hole? STOP THIS MADNESS! If we have to kick in the doors of the White House - JOIN US! It's time.
A Time To IMPEACH
AND Bush's a hell-bound hypocrite. It's ALWAYS been about the oil!
