For Mr. CHENEY, I wouldn't waste my time trying to impeach him. A simple remote control or handheld electrical power-surge 'dispenser' would take care of matters. The Zippo-lighter-size item delivers an invisible up-to-car-battery-killing power surge at 25 to 50 yards through plaster, brick and mortar. A metal door, wall or armored vehicle would only boost its battery-killing power. CIA issue, it works just like a taser, can be laser and/or sound activated directly, remotely or off a timer.

For Mr. BUSH, I wouldn't waste my time trying to impeach him either. A simple potassium-tipped clear-plastic-tipped dart in the palm of a Republican colleagues hand with a nice firm Skull and Bones handshake would resolve matters.

Seriously, though, the Democrats and the American people are just too cowardly and self-serving to impeach Bush and/or Cheney for any number of 'high crimes and misdemeanors'. Either one makes Nixon and Clinton seem like child's play. Hence the more 'indicrect' route as the most likely to succeed.

First there's these perpetual wars that they've tricked us into, second is their shredding of the Constitution, third is their refusal to do anything about global warming except stoke it, fourth is their inviting corporate lobbyists to write the laws of the land, fifth is for sitting back and letting New Orleaners drown, sixth is their opening up Ft. Knox to Haliburton and friends, seventh is their support of waterboarding, eighth their denial of Habeus Corpus, ninth their refusal to allow any oversight, and last but not least, there's the matter of their having stolen both the 2000 & 2004 elections.

1 Lack of Leadership
For one to begin to grasp the incompetence of the catastrophic Bush administration, imagine a company where the position of President was temporarily vacant. There was a requisition out on Monster, but so far no one with the requisite qualifications had yet applied. What might happen? Those responsible for allocating and distributing resources would be guided by no higher mission than maximizing their own slice of the pie. Every department would forget their stated mission and sink into bureaucratic self preservation. No one would even pretend to bother get any work done, return a call or make any progress or to honestly represent themselves. Oversight agencies would issue price lists, competing with each other only in the extravagance of graft, bribery and corruption. The fish rots from the head. The rot, the putrid gangrenous rot of an administration with such a lack of leadership and incompetence as that of the Cheney bush administration defies appreciation.

2 Politicization of Everything
Once one side starts using a more sophisticated, more deadly, military tactics, all other sides have no choice but to upgrade their arsenal if they every wish to compete. The romantic days of the calvary charge can never really come back in the age of the machine gun. Once the bow has been broken there is no going back.
Perhaps previous administrations can be blamed for successively refining their political savvy in reaction to improvements in news reporting technology and the like. And the quaint and gentlemanly days of the past may be easily over romanticized. Some of things Addams and Jefferson accused each other wasn't exactly softball. Still, there is something that elevates the spiteful vindictiveness of the Rovian malice to something approaching Guatemalan death squad level. Their resentment of all things east coast, Harvard, MIT, Hollywood, Upper West Side intellectual, a hatred of anything resembling scientific reason makes for a very frightening political motivation.
Perhaps, when your largest constituent would have you co-opt the judiciary so to pass laws to force others not to think or question but force belief in their literalist interpretation of religion, and preferably burn, in a bonfire of the vanities, anything that questioned their view, it makes sense to pay close attention to never waver from your ideological absolutes. Never has there been an administration so given to extremist purity, not as the end result of reasoned action, but as the affecting guide regardless of specifics. When loyalty oaths replace even the pretense of qualifications, the outcomes could have been expected.
Fortunately, it is easier for someone possessed of few if any intellectual convictions such as Bush, to remain void of any focused personal stake in any particular issue and thus able to accommodate any position calculated as most politically expedient. The one time Bush found an actual focused opinion on a specific issue, it has turned out the one thing vociferous hatemongering conservatives have found on which to disagree with him.

3 Starting a War
It is sometimes said that soldering is the second oldest profession. If so, then the venerable art of starting a war has to rank right up there as the most ancient of clandestine activities. From the time of the pharaohs the need arises to come up with a narrative to marshal the people against the Hittites or the Kush. Even Joshua and Saul needed divine excuses for their genocidal extermination of the Canaanites and Philistines, God knows, pardon the pun. So, ever since Agamemnon blamed Paris for carrying off Helen there has been a lively industry in coming up with excuses for war. From the Gulf of Tonkin to the sinking of the Maine in Havana bay, the success in getting away with starting a war has usually been a function of the outcome of the war. At least FDR had the temerity to think big. The exact circumstances behind the German bombing of Peal Harbor, or the extent to which Afghans in caves were involved in the controlled demolitions and the cruise missile launches on 9/11 I'll leave to OJ and Lee Harvey. In his defense, Bush is so retarded that his alcohol poisoned brain probably still believes that Saddam had something to do with al Queda.
The name al Queda, the Base, or the Foundation, supposedly gets its name from an Isaac Azimov novel popular when the CIA was funding one of the sixty or so sons of the second richest man in Saudi Arabia behind only any member of the royal family. Like Brown and Root who built the Hoover Dam and Interstate 80, the bin Laden family are contractors and built the theme park size mosque at Mecca and re-paved the temple mount, leaving a slag pit Israeli archeologists still sift through. So al Queda is a name made up for a CIA mission by the same people who now give you Arrowhead Ripper. Whenever you hear the term al Queda know they are referring to a CIA bureau nameplate that has no meaning and even less cache anywhere in the real Middle East. Now every attack in Iraq is blamed on al Queda. Remember when Nixon blamed every death in St. Louis or Kansas City on The LA Crypts and Bloods?

4 Being an Asshole
Arrogance. Even those of us who were not born with a silver spoon up our nose are sometimes faced with a situation where we know better than to take advantage of another's misfortune. If someone's mother just died or one of their siblings is diagnosed with a terrible disease, these are not times a normal decent person would choose to twist the knife, make a joke or a snide hurtful comment. But George W. Bush just can't resist taking gleeful advantage of the even the most despicable opportunity to embarrass, belittle, and humiliate even a casual acquaintance.
Some of us have been party to the situation where a guy is given a job because his daddy owns the company. At least the guy usually has the decency not to rub it in. But with Bush, his deep seated (and well deserved) inner insecurity compels him to flout his undeserved advantage every chance he gets.
Yet, that he is a vile, disgusting human being should not alone serve as a reason for impeachment. It is Bush's towel snapping frat boy bullying, so admired by his right wing adulators becomes criminal when applied to our nation's policy both foreign and domestic. He, and his administration have often been described as opposite of diplomacy. No word more succinctly describes Bush and his administration than arrogance. It feels good and plays well in the Dixie heartland. So how's that working out for us in the real world?

5 Cowardice
Lying, when your wife asks if she looks fat, or failing to reveal painful embarrassing explicit details no one really needs to know, or telling a cancer patient that you're sure they'll be fine, show that, as the saying goes, "If you don't have anything nice to say..." Then there are big lies, big deliberate calculated lies. They can be understood in strategic terms. Most disgusting are the pathological liars who seem unable to tell the truth even when it wouldn't even make any difference. This is the mark of a person who has so lost sight of their moral compass that they become afraid of the truth as a default. Whether it involves his motives for farming out our social security to his commission hungry Vermont donors (Fidelity), or his selling of FDA oversight to his patent medicine donors (the largest remaining industry in the US), or his selling of air quality restrictions to the mountain top miners, I refer to Bush's penchant for lying as cowardice because of it's special nature. Lying itself is nothing new or particularly unique. They say you can tell when a politician is lying because his lips are moving. The aversion to the truth for the Bush administration reflects a guilty sense of their innate evil. They know they have bartered a number of soldiers lives in return for defense contractor's profits, or sold a number of citizens lives in return for relaxing food safety standards. They scurry away from the light of truth like rats.

6 Treason
Bush was not AWOL from the National Guard. When you are late a few hours, or a couple of days because of a missed flight or something, you are Away Without Official Leave. After a few months, the technical term is Deserter. Bush, the arrogant, irresponsible son of the then Director of the CIA, his father's reward for being one of Nixon's last loyal puddles, thought nothing of disobeying the direct written orders of some minor Major, some insignificant base commander who ordered him to report for a physical. The key word in that last sentence is "ordered". By deserting Bush also violated a direct order. This is but an early example of treason.
Outing an undercover operator, during, as Bush and his worshipers are so wont to remind us, a time of war, is not an administrative misdemeanor. It is not comparable to having an illicit extramarital el fandango, revealing the identity of an undercover agent is the very definition of treason.

7 Blasphemy
Disingenuous Religious hypocrisy. To imagine that some people still actually consider Bush a Christian stands as perhaps the most disgusting aspect of the horrific Bush catastrophe. To those of us who view Christ's message as one of peace and unity, that Bush managed to cloak himself with some measure of respectability by flouting his religious credentials on his sleeve always irritated an especially deep nerve. That he shamelessly exploited and then cynically rejected and shortchanged the extremist right wing fundamentalists brought little solace. One can only hope that an appropriate retribution can be found for someone who has managed to soil like a homosexual evangelical preacher, the supposedly reputable name of our nation's religious traditions. That Bush dares call himself a Christian is reason enough for him to be impeached. It should be the most loyal and fervent church members leading the cause.

8 Sadistic
It's one thing to be sucked in to the human weakness and find yourself participating in performing torture. It has been proven in laboratory experiments that the individual's capacity to inflict torture is a shameful but real aspect of the human species. But, in a detached, rational setting, we all can agree on it's horror. Now imagine the mental frame of mind that calculates that sanctioning and condoning torture will somehow appeal to your base constituency and then choosing to approve of if even encourage torture. To even contemplate shipping someone off to a secret prison, who comes up with this kind of stuff in the first place? To listen in, tap into someone's private conversations, why? Because you can? If the technology exists therefore let's use it. On what level of evil do these people operate? Bush has demonstrated that he is not worthy of the trust we have placed in him.

9 criminal mischief
From scrimping on body armor and allowing someone to pocket the difference, after taking your cut, to siphoning off ninety cents from every dollar directed to New Orleans flood relief, the obscene subsidies they have paid themselves and tax breaks they have awarded themselves, almost daily there is another example of pure criminal wrongdoing by the Cheney / Bush administration, any one of which under any other circumstances would qualify for legal action. Based on how they have meticulously replaced prosecutors and judges, they must sense the impending legal jeopardy.

10 Still capable of a great deal more damage
After the absurd fiasco the republicans performed by impeaching Bill Clinton they have so cheapened this sacred Constitutional article of impeachment the nation remains reluctant to issue again what would now seem flagrant overuse. Thus they have somehow inoculated Bush from what would otherwise seem a most obvious and necessary case for impeachment. But there remains one vitally important reason why we may not be able to afford simply waiting out the pitiful spectacle of Bush. That Bush is a national shame, an embarrassment, that he has cheapened and soiled the good name of our once proud nation there can be no doubt, but the dire threat that he might yet act again main reason something must be done immediately. As the days tick down on Cheney's power the more likely it grows that he will push the button. Many doubt there is anything that can stop him no matter what. He may let the horny and forlorn Navy and Air Force have their fun in Iran since they feel so left out of spending frenzy known as Iraq, or he may just fire missiles at no one in particular just for the sake of destroying the planet.
Even worse than total annialiation by nuclear weapons, Bush may get to appoint another Supreme Court justice. Either way, the damage Bush still represents is just too much.

The most pressing reason for impeachment is in need to investigate the crimes of the Bush administration. Bush and Cheney have taken every possible step to avoid exposure of the sins of their administration.

We need complete information regarding the damage that this administration has done to our democracy, and our institutions of government.

Without complete information, it will be impossible for any future administration, Democratic or Republican, to rebuild a credible and functioning government.

Without complete information, it will be impossible to take all possible steps to prevent future administrations, Democratic and Republican, from similar abuses of power.

Without impeachment, there will be no investigation.

Impeach them now.

The source of this rumor, which has been going on since 1989, is the Washington Times Newspaper, a mouthpiece for the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. According to Wikipedia, it has been shown by a grand jury to be a hoax.

It seems to me there would be no reason to perpetuate this hoax except for ignorance, or somebody making money (as someone writing a book about it, etc.)

I almost fell for it myself after reading it in the list of ten reasons Marty Weiss sent, but when I asked a knowledgeable friend, he said to question anything written in the Washigton Times; so I did further research.

1. Direct violation of the oath of office...
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Take your pick of amendments that this administration has violated - this is a list of each amendment that this admin. has outright trampled: # 1 - anyone that speaks up against the white house is considered to be an enemy. #s 5 - 8 directly relate to the treatment of the prisoners at Gitmo and anywhere else that the media won't tell us about. #10 would be the one that covers the attack via election rhetoric attempting to ban gay marriages nationwide and not allowing states to decide the issue individually. # 15 is the one that was violated in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. In both election cycles, if the African-Americans were not impeded or prevented from voting or subject to standing line for 6 - 11 hours, do you really believe that our 6 year nightmare would be taking place?

2. Though our media doesn't seem to agree, it is my belief that the outing of a covert C.I.A. agent's identity and exposing the remaining agents, in that operation, to grave danger in the U.S. and abroad, should reach the level of not only impeachment, but also warrant lengthy jail time.

3. Falsification of intelligence to go to war. It should enrage every American that the administration went so far as to lie to Congress, the United Nations, every American and the World, in order to attack a nation that DID NOT PLAN OR PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENTS THAT OCCURRED ON 9/11/01! Though Saddam Hussein deserved his eventual punishment, Osama Bin Laden was as much or more of an ememy to him as George Bush!

4. Collusion! Why do you think Dick Cheney doesn't want anyone to know who attended his energy meeting in 2001? The intended result of that meeting is what we as regular (non-billionaire) Americans are enduring. The oil companies control the supply even more than before, and now we are and will be paying severe consequences until another administration corrects that the problem.

5. War profiteering. This country has gone from a time during WW II where a president did everything possible to prevent the types of things that our current president is doing. If nothing else I want Bush and Cheney to be brought to justice for profitting off of the deaths, mutilation, and overall suffering that are a direct result of the OCCUPATION in Iraq.

6. Deriliction of the duty of office. The current administration has intentionally turned our government into a dysfuntional entity. When you appoint or nominate people like Michael Brown, Donald Rumsfeld, John Bolton, Samuel Alito, John Roberts, Alberto Gonzales, Harriet Meirs, and the list goes on... Though the president likes to play Gomer Pyle on television, you don't reach the level of incompetence that they have achieved on accident. How do you destroy the government you don't want? (the type government that yields surpluses after years of extreme deficits. the type of economy that is good for ALL Americans on ALL Levels. The kind of gov't that Bill Clinton promoted.) The only way to destroy that type of thriving democracy is to do it from the inside, like giving cancer to someone who was the picture of perfect health.

7. September 11, 2001. How convenient was it that President Bush happened to be on the longest vacation that any American President had ever taken before or since? What a coincidence it was that George Bush happened to be in the state where his brother is Govenor, on the day that America has the most catastrophic event occur. Gee, even though the NSA and other intelligence agencies were warning the president of a possible plot to do exactly what occurred, the administration had the audacity to send Condi "liar" Rice before Congress to deny any knowledge of possible attacks. Wasn't it convenient that George Bush allowed all of Osama Bin Laden's relatives to leave the U.S. before speaking to the F.B.I. or C.I.A. By the way, they left AFTER all other civilian and commercial air traffic had been grounded. Why is Osama Bin Laden still alive? Why was the debris (CRITICAL EVIDENCE) from the World Trade Center sent immediately out of the country?

Richard Nixon resigned because he knew that he would have been impeached and eventually convicted.

George Bush and Richard Cheney should be impeached, convicted, and imprisoned. Even if they are not removed from office within the next 18 months, I believe that they should still eventually be brought to justice. There's so many reasons to impeach that it's hard to come up with a top ten.

So, instead, I tried thinking of a reason any reason that we should allow them to stay in office.
