In addition, a mild October Surprise is likely to be the conviction and possible hanging of Saddam before the elections (the verdicts are due in October). Surprised?

But weazl would also note that if the polls get really, really bad and Rove and the others launch their criminal plans in feigning an Iranian attack, look to postponing elections as a possible remedy.

The Bush Cabal will carry our a small attack in this country as a basis for suspending the Constitution, cancel all election and nationalize the national Guard in all 50 states.

I doubt it that I am a traitor. After all we repubs won the election twice. Get over it! You guys lost real bad in 2004, not only in electoral votes but popular votes by 3 million. :)

Of course Bush will try to capture Osama as the October surprise. I suspected it as soon as the word came down that the Pakistani's were abandoning the area he hides in. We know they know where he is hiding. Now, Bush can send in the special squads to take him out and Musharaf can say he had nothing to do with it, and was not informed. Ya think!!

With the Democrats going on to win back Congress in the November election. And here's the plan that'll do it for us. One that'll put us on the road to peace and justice, thereby dampening the fear and hate that drives some people to commit acts of terror. The plan is based upon the golden rule. And it's doable!. 1) Troops out of Iraq now 2) A universal single payer health care system 3) Keeping greedy corporate hands off of Social Security and Medicare 4) Renegiating the so-called free-trade agreements so as to get back those industries and jobs that have been outsourced to Asia and elsewhere 5) Doing something about global warming so that the human race won't be extinct by the end of this century

I wish the Democrats would pull off a huge surprise of their own and demand that the military Draft be reinstated. Why? Since Bush and his cronies keep stuffing patriotism down our throats I think it only fair that all of us who are Americans do our part and serve in our military. No exemptions for the elite. Yes, then and only then will you see people out in the streets protesting against illegal wars. This administration wants a war against terrorism? Then let them put their loved ones in harm's way. Let's surprise the repugs and force them to send their loved ones to the front lines to support their war. Let them put their money where their mouth is and show us that they too, will make the supreme sacrifice for their country and THEIR war. Surprise! Surprise!

Osama, or any corpse they claim to be him, would be ab good card for the Administration. But it could be that the Administration has been duped by their patsy, OsaMaMia. If he reneged on a deal with Rummy, and is patiently waiting out their move, they could be f*cked. They claim he's dead, and then he reappears, ouch! The fact that we have pretended for so long that we didn't know that Osama had been previously and extensively connected to the Administration on political, economical, and family levels is absurd. The facts are so obvious it's practically the makings of a crappy novel.

I've maintained for several years now that Osama's hanging out at the family compound in Saudi, drinking Margaritas and shooting the breeze with Poppy Bush, getting his feet (or some other part of his body) rubbed by a white slave girl from L.A.---and waiting for his next cameo as the "Phantom Menace". Osama was C.I.A. from the get-go (1979), and you don't just "retire" from the firm when you're THAT important. If they "catch" him, they'll retire him to someplace comfortable and out of the way of prying eyes, with a gold watch for honored service. The Cheney Oil Boyz and Al-Queda are part and parcel of the same team---a team that (at least on the "American" side) acts like a bunch of macho adolescent boys who've just found Daddy's gun in the closet to play with, and who are too pig-headed and stupid to pour piss out of a boot from the instructions on the heel---or care that this planet is coming to pieces climatically, economically, and energy-wise. They think they'll wreck it and then pick up the pieces----well, the law of unintended consequences is kicking in big-time, and we are ALL paying the price! Dangerous goddamn fool chimpanzees with nukes---makes me ashamed of my nationality.

Bush may well have Osama in the green room. They have gone so far toward a legalized fascist state without us or anyone else making a dent, they're not going to give it up easily. How many times have you said 'this will finally show how bad they are?' And how many times have you been stunned that nobody seemed to notice? Considering Bush's new belligerent attitude, so different from how subdued he's been since his appearance with Tony Blair when he admitted the "cowboy talk" mistake, I do believe that Osama has been either caught or located and ready to be taken. I believe we will get the surprise in October, and Bush will credit his "alternative methods" used on someone who gave OBL up as a result. Possibly, the CIA task force being recently disbanded was because Osama had been caught/killed. I'll just bet!

Is there any other reason why the entire area over Cheney's ranch was made a no fly zone? Osama and friends likely are holed up there, guests of our VP, waiting to make appearances as necessary to ensure Repuglican victory.

After the last 6 years, I can completely understand the hysteria concerning an October Surprise, but GET REAL, people.

You've expected the unveiling of the October Osama through both of the post-9/11 election cycles - give it up. Our government is not capable of catching him. Not yet.

Bin Laden will not be captured with 150,000 troops and a half-Trillion dollars, he will (if ever) be captured by one informant - one spy. The sort of intelligence this Administration is not interested in - if they truly were, they never would have considered blowing Valerie Plame's cover for a second.

I think in Pakistan, Musharif is fighting literally for his life and felt he had to do something. Bush, for his part, I don't think is very interested in capturing bin laden as he can pull him out every 2 years and scram terror. One factoid rarely, if ever, mentioned is the planned, systematic, multi-pronged strategy that the Republicans spent many years and millions of dollars pulling together in order to take over the federal, state and local governments, Congress, the judiciary, the media, school systems and to fix elections. You have to actually put together many teams of people, assigned to strategize on different assigned subject matter --much like a business school case study group -- for a VERY prolonged period of time, with much cash infusion for paid operatives, and put it to paper with a master plan to pull this kind of thing off. If the Bush administration brings Osama back out before the November elections, and the fear strategy works, one can be sure that it’s not Bush who is stupid, it’s the American voters who are stupid. The government’s failure to capture Osama bin Laden should logically go against the Republicans because Bush has failed for five years to even trail him. And Bush shut down the office or agency that was in charge of keeping track of Osama. All the Democrats have to say from now on until Election Day is, “Mr. President, why haven’t you caught Osama?
